“Staying at Loon during school vacation week means huge wait times for super busy restaurants. We decided we should take a 25 min drive and avoid the mess in Lincoln/ woodstock area. Boy were we glad we did. We got right in a 6:30 for dinner. Food was fantastic. And service was top notch. Well worth the short drive even if the restaurants in Lincoln were not busy. I would come back here again in a heartbeat.“
“Local tavern a short drive from Waterville ski area. Menu had tavern/pub staples and good menu of drinks from the bar. Clam chowder was a little better than expected and a burger was very welcome after a day on the mountain. They did have a kids menu if that is something you need to consider.“
“A very cool casual atmosphere as most have. This one is a bit more rustic. It was not very busy when we went but it was snowing. The food was good. I enjoyed it. Some of my party thought it was just okay. The only problem I had is we had to wait a long time for everything even though the place was not busy. Otherwise, it's always a good experience at the common man. At this particular place I found a lot of interesting sounding dishes on the menu. I would go back to try some.Kid-friendliness: Place maps with jokes crayons etc. Kids menu.free Cheese and crackers if they are hungry...food can take a while.“
“After driving by Walter's Basin so many times, I finally stopped in for a meal today. I did not realize how large the inside of this restaurant was! The waitress suggested the Watermelon Margarita and that was super tasty! The menu had a wide variety of options. I really enjoyed the Rainbow Trout dish. Great view overlooking Little Squam!“
“After a wild night hanging out with the fellas, Benton's totally saved the day the next morning. Their service was awesome - they hooked us up with a table for 7 in pretty much no time, even with a crowd waiting. For breakfast, I went all in with the Meat Lover's omelet: smoked ham, bacon, sausage, maple cured kielbasa, and cheddar cheese, all packed into one crazy-good dish. I'm not really an egg person, but this thing was seriously amazing. Oh, and those homemade biscuits? Don't even get me started - they were absolutely to die for. Everyone at our table chowed down on the menu's endless options till they were full and happy. Now, let's talk about the place itself. The shack has a Northern New England syrup-drenched history. It's got this one-of-a-kind vibe that both tourists and us locals can't get enough of.“
“Attention SKIERS!! Talk about a PERFECT way to end your day! We came once last year after a day on the mountain.. the Shepherd’s Pie was AMAZING! Real lamb, absolutely delicious! Came back after a great day on the mountain Sunday, excited to enjoy again.. in a last minute decision switch, I tried the Bangers and Mash… OMG… this is a dish you can’t help but close your eyes as you enjoy the party in your mouth! Kudos Chef!! We’ll be back!!P.S. Irish Nachos are amazing, kids menu is great and affordable ?“
“My wife and I number one stop for cocktails and appetizers seated at the bar, while enjoying the comfort and atmosphere of a rustic inn located in the vibrant college town of Plymouth NH. Like all of the Common Man family of restaurants, server’s, bartenders, hostesses, and of course FOOD, is exceptional. Looking forward to our next visit while staying at Waterville Valley.“
“Went here for the second time with my girlfriend for her birthday dinner. Our server, Shannon, was wonderful, and the atmosphere/aesthetic of this cozy little restaurant was perfect, as always. My only problem was I ordered the schnitzel, which was changed since the last time I had ordered it a couple of years ago. With the addition of the bleu cheese now, it completely overwhelms the other flavors of the dish. It was cooked perfectly and still an okay dish, but I had to knock one star off for that. There was also too much garlic in the feta dip appetizer. My girlfriend enjoyed her duck, however, and her sangria. Whatever IPA I had on draught was also delicious, and desserts were good as well.“
“This was my best meal to date in our whirlwind skiing trip in New Hampshire. Had the most amazing burger, aptly named the Tommy Burger, and cheeky red onion rings, ordered fries as well but couldn't eat them. In fact, I couldn't even sample the world-renowned key line pie as I was too full. The staff were amazing, so friendly and accommodating.and the place just oozed character. And to top it all off, all for under $20. Happy days.“
