“If you're looking for a place with a relaxed vibe that has great food with an even better waterfront view that's TRULY off the beaten path, then have I got the place for you! The Bait Box Restaurant in Greenwich, NJ checks all those boxes and more. Located deep in Cumberland County along the Cohansey River, the only thing I regret about the hour drive was that we hadn't discovered this place sooner. They've only just opened for the season, so they're still operating on a limited menu, but the offerings we tried were all excellent! The New England clam chowder was chock full of clams and well seasoned, my husband enjoyed his smashburger with bacon jam, and my coconut shrimp tacos were some of the best I've ever had. Extra points to the chef for using watermelon radishes! It was modestly full for dinner tonight, but from what we heard it gets VERY crowded in the warmer months! They have bars outside, live bands, plenty of boat slips for which to dock (in case you want to arrive by water) and they're extremely dog friendly! Did we just become best friends?! Seriously, this might have been our first visit to the Bait Box - but it will absolutely not be our last!“
“So enjoyed a delicious lunch of Maryland Crab Soup, Oysters Rockefeller and Linguini with Crab. Everything was fresh and flavorful. Our server was quick and efficient and we enjoyed chatting with her. The atmosphere was quaint and cozy, especially with the lovely breeze blowing through. Was very impressed, start to finish. Hope to go again soon!!“
“Did not eat, we had cocktails only. Nice place, very happy and upbeat staff, great atmosphere.Update: went back for a late lunch/early dinner.Excellent red clam chowder, a cross between Manhattan and RI red. Excellent clams casino and the stuffed mushrooms were chic full of crabmeat! There is a small salad bar with bread and a few desserts to choose from. For our entree we ordered a seafood pot with garlic linguine. Lots of seafood in the linguine, it was a shame that the lobster tail was overcooked but the flavor was great. We'll be back!Parking: Plenty of parking in the rear of the building.“
