“The Turkish food here is of high quality. We had the mixed platter of cold appetizers and the mixed meat entree. So yummy! The host and waiters were very welcoming and efficient. When they made a mistake and forgot a side we ordered, they still brought it late and did not charge us. Then they brought us tea and baklava on the house. They want you to leave happy. The sign of a well-run business. We’ll be back for sure.“

I’ve been living in the U.S. for 16 years, and the thing I’ve missed and loved the most is lahmacun. After trying it at PIDDE, I’ve never had lahmacun anywhere else again. At other places I’ve tried over the years, I always experienced heartburn afterward — but never at PIDDE.

It’s a place you can visit with your family and feel completely at ease. The food is delicious, the staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming.🙏“

“I don't eat out often but when I do lezzet is my husband and I go to spot for some delicious turkish food. Its very clean, affordable and every one is very friendly plus they teach me turkish while im there. I very much recommend you go try the best well done food in paterson.“

“We’ve always been happy with the Turkish food in this friendly place, but this Thanksgiving discovered that they also offer a turkey dinner on this day. $50 per person for tasty turkey and stuffing, mashed potatoes, special rice, plus pumpkin pie and coffee. Since we no longer want to be bothered at Thanksgiving we will probably return here.“

“For an authentic taste of Turkiye, you must visit Kral Pide. They've mastered two of Turkiye's most famous dishes: pide and lahmacun.

The pide is a true masterpiece but the lahmacun is the real star. The bread is paper-thin and crispy, topped with a flavorful, finely spiced mixture of meat and vegetables. Served with a squeeze of fresh lemon and a sprinkle of parsley, it’s a light, delicious, and addictive roll-up.

Both dishes showcase the quality of the ingredients and the skill in the kitchen. The service was excellent, and the atmosphere was welcoming. If you’re looking for the best pide and lahmacun in town, this is the place.“

“First time there for myself. My wife had been there recently for lunch. OMG, amazing. We started with their homemade, warm Pita with Babaganush (sp?). Awesome. I had their Arugala salad, which I like wherever I go. This was amazing as well. Then we had our entrees. None of us could finish our meals, they were so plentiful and delicious. We each took home doggy bags. We told them we couldn’t possibly eat desserts so we ordered some to go. They then brought out hot Turkish teas for us AND a plate of a custard for us to share. Delicious!!! WOW! This place jumped right up near the top of our list for favorite restaurants. We will definitely be back.“

“Toros Turkish Cuisine, formerly known as The Kebab House, is one of Upper Montclair’s true dining gems. The food is consistently delicious, with standout dishes like the tender lamb shish kebab and perfectly prepared grilled shrimp. The mezza (appetizers) are outstanding—rich baba ghanoush, creamy labneh, and an array of flavorful hummus varieties, all paired with warm, freshly baked Turkish bread that is simply irresistible.

The service is just as memorable: warm, friendly, and knowledgeable, especially helpful to anyone new to Turkish cuisine. The setting adds to the charm—inside, the dining grotto creates an inviting ambiance, while the back arbor surrounded by plants offers a beautiful, almost secret-garden feel.

Desserts are not to be missed, from the comforting Turkish rice pudding to flaky baklava and more. Toros is one of my favorite go-to places in Montclair—a restaurant that blends incredible flavors with a welcoming atmosphere.“

“We stumbled upon Toros because we were trying to find a place to eat on the last day of Ramadan. They were super packed but they told us if we waited for a few minutes they would be able to sit us. We were so glad we waited because the food was fantastic. It was by far one of my favorite Turkish restaurants in NJ. The service here is great. They are very attentive and the food comes out pretty quickly. The seating is a little tight but not uncomfortable. We didn't know they had a parking lot the first time but the next time we came, parking is right next to it which was convenient. Definitely recommend coming to eat here. Stop by in the afternoon on a weekday or weekend when its less crowded. You won't be disappointed.“

“We had a great dinner tonight at Happy Vegans. We were greeted warmly and offered a taste of their special dish kofta, which is a delicious mix of spices, tomato and bulgur. I had the happy vegan burger which was huge with three patties made from kofka, lettuce tomatoes and a large serving of fries. We were given mayonnaise and ketchup to dip the fries in. Baklava for dessert. I highly recommend this charming restaurant. Easy street parking.“

We recently celebrated a birthday and had such an amazing evening thanks to Selchuk and the staff.“

“Had a quaint dinner party with 29 people and it was phenomenal, from the service to the food. My advice, if you want to walk around, dance and take pictures comfortably, definitely no more than 20 people in the patio area. That’s just my humble review, you do you! Everyone still had a great time with the space that was provided.

“Authentic Turkish sweets. We picked 2 lbs of knafeh and 2 lbs of baclava. We went on a Sunday near closing so options were limited, but thats all we went for. The owner makes you a million samples and he's so lovely. Great way to support local, small bakeries.“

“A friend of mine brought me some Baklava from Beyti. What an absolute delight it was. The Baklava's were not too crispy, not too soft, just had the right texture. The sweet level was just perfect. Hopefully one day they will start shipping them out.“
