“Great food. Often busy at nights - especially Friday and Saturday and it can get loud. Never had to wait for a seat for lunch. Service is great but can be slow when crowded. One of the few restaurants that serves red miso soup which I prefer over the more bland white miso you usually get at Japanese restaurants.“

“This is a brand new, recently opened restaurant and wow did they deliver for first impressions. Food was absolutely incredible. The sushi was fresh and made quickly. I had the volcano roll and the Naruto rainbow row, it was beautiful and delicious. Very good quality cuts and tasted fresh Really impressed by their milk tea as well. We got the original and Taro milk tea and it was fantastic. Staff was also very friendly and helpful in deciding what to order. Would definitely be coming back the next time I’m in town!“

“As somebody with a severe sesame allergy, eating Asian cuisine has always been a challenge for me. I have always had to be extremely careful, usually avoiding Asian cuisine altogether to avoid the risk of cross-contamination with sesame seeds or oil. However, I work nearby and one day I decided to call QQ Asian to see if it were a possibility to order something that didn't have sesame, and it turns out that they were able to accommodate me more than I thought! They mainly use a different oil (vegetable, I believe) for most of the food, and when I call to place an order, I always remind them of my allergy and they do a great job of making sure my food doesn't come in contact with ANY sesame. I appreciate the staff at QQ Asian for not only making consistently great food, but for also taking into consideration an allergy that had previously made it feel impossible to explore Asian cuisine. (Allergies vary in severity, so if you have allergies, only try if you feel comfortable.)

Had to throw everything in the garbage today - sushi rolls (spicy tuna and spicy salmon) did not smell fresh at all, looked very different. Ramen soup was disguisting. We used to love this place, truly loved. But last couple of times food seems not the same. Also Doordash took two hours to deliver instead of promised 45 min- have a feeling they were looking for fresh fish and could not find it - so result was obvious. “Look at this other review down here lol It's sushi from a grocery store, that's made and packed. What do you expect? A master sushi chef straight from Tokyo, or Fukuoka, or Hokaido, sitting in Shoprite taking orders?They make good sushi when it's just made. You eat sushi that's been sitting in your fridge for even an hour, it's not as good as fresh, but still good.“

“12/23/25: We went here again and found a nice crowd of people have also discovered this hidden gem for fresh sushi and oriental food at a good price. Our new standby for awesomely made sushi! We both had special rolls, of which they make many. All were so good! (See pictures below). I find the prices to be very good and the quality fresh, and well made. And the service is so friendly, too. You really need to try it. This is a BYOB restaurant so bring your bottle of wine or beer and enjoy your dining experience.

ORIGINAL REVIEW:
For all you sushi lovers out there.....this is a great one! I'm from out if town visiting and we went here. We did make a reservation but it's really not necessary. The lady that greeted us and waited on us was super nice and friendly! Just the right amount of attention and she alone made for a great visit from that aspect.
The Food: my son had the sashimi plater with a side of avocado. He said it was all fresh and a good amount. I had various rolls after I started with the spicy seaweed salad. It had just the correct amount of aoli spicy sauce.... not too spicy... & just right. And, soooo fresh, plus it was a good sized salad.
I had some eel nagiri and tamago nagiri along with a couple of rolls. I added a delicious California roll, too.
Prices: super right! Not expensive, at all. This is not a break the bank place with pricing that beats all the others locally.
My son and his wife and my grandson will be going here from now on he said. I look forward to going here again when in-state visiting.
Folks, I highly recommend trying this excellent restaurant. I'm am sure that you'll enjoy it as it checks off all the boxes and the sushi is very fresh and well made.

“Great little story: more than 20 years ago I found myself inexplicably single (lol) and walked into Mitsuba (Chatham) just as it opened — I might have been their second-ever customer. I scanned the menu and wanted a lot of sushi, but not the Full “Love Boat.” I told them, “I’m not in love, and that’s too much food. Can I get something about half the size and half the price?”
They brought out what you see in the photo. I was satisfied and joked, “When I come back, can we call this the Lonely Boat?” And that’s how it stuck. It isn’t on the menu, but if you walk in and ask for “Mr. Howard’s Lonely Boat,” they’ll know what you mean.
I even suggested making it a Monday special — “Lonely Boat Mondays.” Imagine single folks showing up for a Lonely Boat, striking up conversations, and maybe two lonely diners eventually turning their Lonely Boats into Love Boats. They have a few tempura rolls, a few naruto rolls (cucumber wrapped, no rice), and a whole 2 pages for regular and special rolls. I enjoyed everything my table tried. Lots of variety to find something for you!

Lost a star for me on service - vibe is nice but we waited a while to order and receive our check even though there were very few guests dining in on a Friday night. Seems like a great takeout choice otherwise!“
