“One of my favorite omakase spots in Philly!
My favorite from my course was Gindara(miso cod) with pumpkin sauce which tasted like Japanese pumpkin and they matched so well, also the akami (tuna red meat) tasted super fresh! Every other fish were fresh and loved the way they prepared everything! Chefs were also very nice and fun to chat with!“

“Been there 3 times to get takeout, so time to review. Short version: great food, nice staff, clean facility, and honestly a real bargain for what you get.

The food is always ready when I arrive. It's easy to get in and get out of The Fairway. The takeout bowls are hilariously overkill, you can use them to take your lunch to work they are so robust. No leaking in the takeout bag. The quality of the ingredients is very good. Never fishy, clean taste, good balance of textures in their dishes.

If you are reading this you are looking for a good place for sushi in the Abington/Jenkintown area. Down the shopping center is Whole Foods. Zushi's sushi is better, you get more, and it's better priced. Try it here instead, and support a local small business.

“Was looking for an eel bowl, and found a spot that serves it based on other reviewers photos. They gave me two layers of eel, and it was great. I also had shrimp on the side. I'd go back again.

My only complaint is maybe they need to use table covers, or buff and resurface the tables as it has a sticky texture to it. I wished the exterior of the building was not your average Philly building, but more like a restaurant. Without the Mr.Sushi sign, I would not know it was there. The sign does look new and vibrant though, and caught my eye from down the street.“

The sushi was such a good price and great quality. We realized we were missing a roll and called back the store. They were able to redeliver it at no cost and had it there in under 10 mins! “I went on the first day, soft opening. The staff is very friendly and professional. The orders came pretty quick. The atmosphere was very nice and presented. Saw the chefs in the kitchen working non-stop, make made me appreciate more for the food. She seemed to be higher up in the ranks (her name is Susan maybe?), and she is a wonderful, honest woman and an overall pleasure to converse with. “Had what may have been the best Japanese dining experience I’ve ever had! Also my first Omakase experience - just to put it in perspective. Beautiful setting, though the tables are definitely cozy, and lighting is dim (if you’re middle age, bring those readers - I forgot mine!). Anyhow, I didn’t need the readers because someone at my table suggested we do the omakase and it was wonderful! I can’t tell you what I liked best - most dishes melted in my mouth, it was absolutely delicious! Thank you for a great dinner.“

“Staff are absolutely wonderful. Very attentive. We did not have to ask for anything as they were so good. We enjoyed some things very much. Others... Not so much. It was my first time there but my sister's second or third visit. Prices are great so we got the all you can eat option so we could try lots of different things. I would go back just for the cold noodles and the pumpkin tempura. SOOOO GOOD! The rolls, however, were rather nondescript and very light on fish. We shared 6 different rolls and most of them tasted the same. Maybe because they were mostly rice and veggies with not enough fish to distinguish them? The pork katsu was very thin and a bit over-cooked. The result was breading harder than it should be and pork that was dried out. So, not much flavor there. Shame. My sister said her meals were better when she was there before so maybe it was an off night. But, we enjoyed ourselves regardless.

Wheelchair accessibility: Even with the vestibule, I could get my large power chair into the place easily. There were lots of tables that could accommodate wheelchairs. The bathroom is accessible with a stall big enough for my chair to fit inside if I backed in. Makes for easy transfer.“

“I took my boyfriend here for his birthday, and we both really enjoyed it! We had the 12-course omakase for $68, which is a great deal compared to other spots in Philly. Everything was incredibly fresh and delicious. The chef was friendly, though he spoke very little English, which made communication a bit challenging. The whole experience lasted about an hour.

It’s no longer BYOB, but they do offer a variety of drinks. We tried the fruity sake flight, and it was a great choice—different flavors to sample, and it paired perfectly with the sushi. “Been searching for good japanese restaurant for quite some time. Let me just say that Mikado far exceeded our expectations. From tge appetizers to dinner, it was exceptional. Our server, Michelle, was great. We had tge seared pepper tuna sushi app - so fresh and delicious. My husband had the hibachi with filet and lobster - amazing too. My son had the combo udon noodles - ate every bite! We had the tempura banana dessert - delicious as well as the chocolate mousse cake and coppa cafe. Amy at the front desk was so gracious and sweet. “Went to Sakura today early afternoon before Eagles Cowboys game because all the places in Haddonfield and Cherry Hill were packed - whenever I pass Sakura on the pike it never looks crowded and that is solely because the locals utilize the drive through window which is a holdover from the previous Taco Bell - so I went in and right off the bat I was ecstatic that all their lunch specials are 7 days a week which is a big deal compared to all the other places in the vicinity -
I ordered the 3 maki roll lunch which at $13 is an insanely good deal - the tuna avocado roll is firmly packed with a generous portion of tuna and very fresh avocado - the jalapeño yellowtail roll was crispy and tastes like the fish just came out of the ocean - my third roll was shrimp tempura which was delicious and very tasty - I got their spicy sauce on the side and that was simply phenomenal - Leo and his staff are very friendly - this place is a Godsend for this part of Oaklyn - I look forward to coming back“

“Was here recently for a colleague’s birthday party. They rented a private room with food + bottle service. Off street parking was definitely a huge plus. The staff was very attentive, and the overall atmosphere of the place seemed pretty chill. My only critique is the karaoke interface is not very intuitive, and the selection for ACTUAL karaoke/instrumental tracks are very limited because they only use Spotify for the music. It’s more like a sing-along than karaoke. I would suggest using youtube instead of spotify because YouTube’s selection of music for karaoke is far superior. Other than that, the place is great!“
