“One of my favorite omakase spots in Philly!
My favorite from my course was Gindara(miso cod) with pumpkin sauce which tasted like Japanese pumpkin and they matched so well, also the akami (tuna red meat) tasted super fresh! Every other fish were fresh and loved the way they prepared everything! Chefs were also very nice and fun to chat with!“

“I was having a sushi craving… and thought we would give Sushi Ocean a try. And it was so good!! We did take out, but went in to pick it up, it looked quaint and clean. Our food wasn’t quite ready, so the gal asked if we were waiting in our car and she would bring out to the car. Definitely a win for me as well as my kids. Will be going back again. The fish was fresh, and they were reasonably priced. Got a lot for our money!!“

“Let me preface this by saying I ordered this on DoorDash.

Now I was surfing DoorDash one night (tonight) because I was craving sushi but didn’t want to spend too much on it, was just hoping to get a fill of fish so was looking for cheap “low quality” sushi, and I stumbled onto this gem.

Even the menu on the app looked a bit fancy for “low quality” sushi (Japanese WAGYU sushi??) so I decided to try it out. Wow.

First off, the price. The price is on par with some of the other revolving sushi restaurants, but definitely cheaper than more formal sit down restaurants. Secondly, THE QUALITY. Not ONE of the sushi’s I ordered (I ordered pretty much one of everything, my wallet’s cooked) was fishy. Everything tasted fresh. The Yuzu salmon as well as the Japanese wagyu was to die for (I literally moaned). THE WASABI IS REAL WASABI. You don’t understand, these things aren’t typical of a revolving sushi restaurant, especially not for one of this price point.

Anyways, I don’t normally write reviews let alone take photos of food for reviews, but I took some just for yall because this restaurant blew my expectations out of the water. I can’t wait to visit in person someday soon.“

“We ran a few min late but our host was so nice and let us know where we could park to save time. The food was sublime and so fresh! Definitely not a restaurant you go to daily/weekly, but great for special occasions a few times a year! It was probably the best omakase experience I’ve ever had. And since it was a slower night (weekday), it was like we had a private restaurant experience!“

“Been searching for good japanese restaurant for quite some time. Let me just say that Mikado far exceeded our expectations. From tge appetizers to dinner, it was exceptional. Our server, Michelle, was great. We had tge seared pepper tuna sushi app - so fresh and delicious. My husband had the hibachi with filet and lobster - amazing too. My son had the combo udon noodles - ate every bite! We had the tempura banana dessert - delicious as well as the chocolate mousse cake and coppa cafe. Amy at the front desk was so gracious and sweet. “I love Akira every time! We live in town and go regularly for take out, eat in, and hibachi. We have gone multiple times for hibachi and the service is great, atmosphere is fun, and they are accommodating of young children. Out son has more and more fun each time we go. I also love the sushi variety and flavor. So happy to have a non Italian spot in town!“

“Tucked away in a small shopping center, very easy to overlook, sits a gem of a restaurant. They have multiple cuisines to choose from, Japanese, Chinese, and Thai. The footprint of the restaurant is small, but it is so thoughtfully arranged and decorated. I wish I had found this place sooner and will definitely continue to visit.“

The sauce was delicious and not overly sweet. When I placed my order on the phone, the employee who answered misheard part of my order. I didn’t realize this until I went to pick up the food. They apologized, quickly made the new dish, and put a complimentary sushi roll in my takeout bag. So professional. The restaurant is also nice - I would’ve dined in had I known beforehand!“

“I finally stopped into Sakura Japanese Steak House and ordered some takeout. A few shrimp tempura rolls and shrimp avocado rolls. Delicious, I will be going back. Service was great, the rolls were made fresh while I waited, and I did not have to wait long. Even at the very busy dinner time. The phone was ringing constantly and the staff was quick to answer and take the orders that were coming in....If you are a fan of sushi I recommend Sakura Japanese Steak House on the White Horse Pike in Oaklyn.“

When I mentioned entertainment I referred to the chef, who had a sense of humor while he prepared our food. He made our dinner most enjoyable. “Was here recently for a colleague’s birthday party. They rented a private room with food + bottle service. Off street parking was definitely a huge plus. The staff was very attentive, and the overall atmosphere of the place seemed pretty chill. My only critique is the karaoke interface is not very intuitive, and the selection for ACTUAL karaoke/instrumental tracks are very limited because they only use Spotify for the music. It’s more like a sing-along than karaoke. I would suggest using youtube instead of spotify because YouTube’s selection of music for karaoke is far superior. Other than that, the place is great!“
