“My boyfriend and I went to visit the restaurant two days ago and decided to do a review. as soon as we walked in, we were immediately greeted by the owner and another associate. The owner brought us to a quiet section and was very quick with grabbing us some waters to start off with. The server came over with some hot tea and asked us if we had any questions about the menu. The seats were comfortable and the restaurant was clean and comfortable. You can tell that the owner enjoys seeing the community in his restaurant as he made his rounds around the place. We did put a order in for steam dumplings and pleasantly surprised by not only the price but the taste of them. We also ordered the fried wings and they were hot and perfectly seasoned for dinner. We ordered the triple combination that came with fried rice and it was a perfect size to split between two adults, featured a beef shrimp and a chicken dish. We both enjoyed the beef and shrimp but the chicken with peas wasn't our favorite. The chicken surprisingly didn't have as much flavor as the rest of them.“
“Megu's sushi is top-notch! We usually order delivery, but decided to stop in on a Thursday evening because we were getting stir-crazy. Our waitress was super attentive and came back several times to ensure we were happy with our meal. We had an assortment of basic rolls (salmon, yellowtail jalapeño, crab, and cucumber) and had nothing but positive opinions about them all. I would highly recommend checking out Megu the next time you're in the area. In fact, I'd even recommend getting delivery since the food arrives fresh every time.“
“I am very pleased with my experience here. I went with a group of 5 and ordered sample tasting, so we got to try a lot of different options they have. They have standard and an upgraded option (for just $10/person); it is well worth it to pay for the upgrade. I liked most of it. But what was exceptional is the liver goose, the duck scrapple, the wagyu and the sea bass.They do a nice show (at the bar) with some of their drinks as well. In this video I recorded them making my double knot Manhattan. They fire some cinnamon and fill your cup first with the smoke. It actually gives it a nice taste.“
“Pretty good experience! There was a little bit of a mix up with what we ordered but they instantly took care of it and got us the rest of our food. Some of the food was hit or miss. The broll, Bloc party, Hijiki, and e I shumai was great but I didn't really like the chashu because it was a bit gummy and the wings were not my favorite. But other than that, it was all great. I will definitely come back soon to try more things :)“

“This place is SO good, a new neighborhood favorite. The sushi, robatayaki, and entrees we tried were all incredibly fresh, beautifully prepared, and well seasoned (especially the hangar steak robatayaki!!). Love that it's a BYO, too. Personally, I ordered the miso soup ramen and I loved it: both the decoration of the dish, as well as the quantity and flavor, were in harmony; For starters we ordered gyozas, which were delicious. My companion ordered a shrimp tempura roll which, on the other hand, although it had a delicious flavor, the quantity was small in relation to the price. The atmosphere is cozy. I got the valentines roll and the fresh red tuna was so buttery soft. I loved it. Also don’t skip the sashimi platter!! Great place for any quick satisfying meal. Lots of people come through for takeout so it’s incredibly busy but they are efficient. Order at least 30 mins ahead so you’re not waiting too long - They are very busy on Friday nights.“

“Location a bit sketchy and there is not many seats inside but the sushi is good quality for its price point.The salmon roll is $10 at time of writing, slightly more expensive than nearby alternatives but seems to be expertly prepared.The braised pork belly buns are delicious and come with thick slabs of pork meat.The fried rice rolls appetizers are also quick good and does their job to stimulate the appetite.The cha shu ramen itself is slightly spicy and includes a sliced slab of corn which is an interesting choice, at first glance, it seems a bit like instant ramen but upon tasing the noodles are certainly higher quality than that of instant ramen. The eggs are hard boiled and reminiscent of soy sauced braised salty tea eggs, the broth is flavorful but nothing too special and the same can be said for the cha shu pork pieces. Overall 4/5. The ramen passable but the sushi is the main highlight of this place.“

My man usually says his food is fine, however, he said this place is BANGIN which amazed me. Atmosphere is gorgeous. “I went here with a crew of 6 to celebrate a special day, and it was a really good experience! By no means am I a sushi expert, but I am not a newcomer either and to me it was pretty great experience, especially the tempura shrimp on the mango shrimp roll.. We ordered the Party Platter D which came with 64 pieces total comprised of Alaska roll, tuna avocado roll, california roll, spicy tuna roll, sweet potato roll, tiger roll, mango shrimp roll, and creamy crab roll. The mango in the mango shrimp roll was also a welcomed change of flavors. Lots of options. We ended up getting one of the family meals that really satisfied our group's stomachs and wallets. Generally it is a little expensive, but it's a local establishment that also doesn't have a liquor license to bring in easy revenue. On that note, this is a BYOB restaurant, which is pretty neat, allowing you to save even more on your overall price if you plan on drinking. I wonder if they would be willing to warm your sake for you? My only food recommendation (which I communicated to the open and friendly guy at the counter, is that the spicy tuna wasn't very spicy. Maybe now it will be spicier if they've had similar complaints since the time I went--probably 5 months ago at this point. Otherwise, my only other complaint is just that it's a small place--about 8 spots at the stylish wood sushi bar, and two picnic style tables that can seat 5 if you pull up a chair, so it might be a little tough to find a spot if you're going out with a crew.“
“This is my go-to place for special occasions, like getting an A (or even a B+) in my Penn Law courses. CONGRATULATIONS to the owner for an incredible four years! I've been enjoying Kaseiki's sashimi bowls since the start of the pandemic and have always had wonderful experiences with them. The ingredients are always fresh and even the basic bowls, like their signature Anniversary Bowl, are very artistically done and taste great. I highly recommend the Second Anniversary Bowl, an upgrade that includes delicately prepared scallop, the sweetest shitake mushrooms you've ever had, and mouth-watering, delicious O-toro! The prices are high, but the quality is also high, so it's definitely worth it! Looking forward to enjoying a Chirashi bowl in person someday.“

“I came here with the college kid to treat her to a special night out. We both shared a few maki sushi. The tuna roll was very fresh and flavorful with surprisingly excellent quality of fish. The same for a salmon roll and 2 special rolls whose names I cannot remember. Service was excellent and the dining room was clean and cute. This is a very good place to take a date or celebrate a casual, special occasion. While somewhat expensive, portion sizes are reasonable and prices are competitive with other places in Philadelphia. My only complaint is the lack of street parking and no pay lots in the area; it took me nearly 30 minutes to find an open spot on a late Friday afternoon. Make sure you have a backup plan if you have to give up and go somewhere else due to lack of parking.“

The food is authentic maki, nigiri, and sashimi.You might want to bring your phone to look up the meaning of many of the dishes, because it’s not incredibly detailed. “Went here last night for dinner with my wife. I don’t remember what my wife got besides the rock shrimp appetizer but I did help her finish her food and all of it was delicious, including the rock shrimp. I am a big eel fan so I got the unagi don as well as the dancing dragon. They were both a big serving, which was excellent. As for service, they were very nice and refills came quickly. I also got a lemon sorbet dessert, I forgot the name of it but it was delicious. If you are looking for a quiet eating location with great sushi this is the place to go. They also have hibachi“
