“I went Friday the 6th to celebrate my friend turning 18. Not my usual scene but the food was amazing. We all got different types of dishes and the adults loved their drinks. I got sushi and it was out of this world. The music was a little loud for my taste but still enjoyable. Kirsy was our server, she was excellent. She was so sweet and attendant to our party of 7. Even the bathrooms were clean and adorable!! If you're looking for a fun night out with good music and even better food and service, this is definitely the place to go.“

I removed a star from their service because apparently they do something nice for people on their birthdays, and we were skipped, although it was noted in our reservation. You have knowledgeable people to help you create masterpiece fish-based meals. I wrote to them by email early in the morning about what I needed. I received a quick response with assurance that I could get the head and bones needed for stock and a sturdy white fish for the Belgian stew (Waterzooie). Not just any fish heads and bones, but the choice known to make the BEST stock: flounder. With this as the base of a fantastic stock, Philly Lobster had beautiful monkfish filets for the stew. This, too, is the best choice for Waterzooie. John at Philly Lobster had done the online inquiry and knew exactly what I needed. The results were outstanding and I could not have done it without the wonderful help from John at Philly Lobster. It is a small, priceless business I value. There is no other place like it on the Main Line.“

The place is very decked out with anime stickers, manga panels, and the like, while also playing different kinds of anime on the TVs they have on premise. I really recommend the spot, for just the food alone even if you don't like anime.“

“Highly recommend Ichiro Ramen Sushi! The portions here are seriously huge. The sushi rolls are BIG and packed with fillings — not just rice, but a lot of fresh fish inside. You can really feel the quality and generosity in every bite.

The ramen was also amazing — they give a lot of meat on top, and it’s not just a little, it’s a very generous portion. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful.

On top of that, the service is excellent. The staff are very efficient, friendly, and the food comes out super fast. You don’t have to wait long at all.

“If it’s your first omakase experience then you’ll like it. If you’ve had more expensive omakase before, then this one doesn’t really have the same experience factor. The quality of the fish was good but it was fast(less than 1h) and felt rushed. The sushi chef didn’t really explain anything other than state the obvious name of the fish. But it’s good for the price.“

“Wednesday I came up the escalator to find that there is a buy 2 get 1 free sushi special on Wednesdays! I haven’t gotten sushi here in quite some time, but am soooo happy I did. Shrimp Tempura, Yellowtail Scallion, and Salmon rolls for $18?? And it was extremely fresh, I can’t emphasize the quality of this sushi for the price. I feel like the shrimp tempura could have been cut in larger pieces to avoid them falling apart as much but hey it’s all going in my tummy anyway.

“Here we go with another review yalllll… So I went to this establishment because JL Jupiter suggested it and let me tell you, he wasn’t wrong at allllll. The wings are something I’ve never tasted before. How you grill a fried or baked wings, I have no idea but they did it! The wings also had this slightly spicy sweet sauce on them. Although you see the hot pepper flakes on the chicken, it’s not an overwhelming spice level. It’s very subtle. Now the rice baby!!!!! The beef rice was soooo very very good and they give you a lot of it. Lastly, my daughter had a shrimp tempura roll. I know yall are saying, “sushi from a chicken joint”? Yes honeyyyyy! Don’t knock it until you try it! The roll was fresh and crispy and the sauce the out on was soooo good. The place is very small and I had to park on the side street illegally but I had someone in the car. You cannot park in 69th Street and please for the love of GOD, DO NOT DOUBLE PARK FOR YOU CAN CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. All and all, 10/10 I highly recommend! Ok, love yall byeeeeee!“

“My family had a wonderful time here for my son's 11th birthday! He wanted to try out the hibachi experience, so we reserved a hibachi table. There was another family at the table across from us enjoying a meal as well. The food was incredible (though not one of us managed to catch a piece of it in our mouths), my husband said it was the best meal he's had all year. The hibachi room is decorated with murals of video game & cartoon characters like Mario & SpongeBob, which was great because my son is a gamer. “My family and I had an incredible dining experience tonight at Umai. We had a special, Kinmedai aka Golden Eye Snapper that was so fresh and tasty, out of this world good! We also had a treat with broiled tuna cheek that was also outstanding. Otoro was so velvety and rich, spicy hotate, sweet ebi, unagi, fried crabs, incredible sushi rolls, savory Akadashi (my son ordered a second it was so good) and everything else we ordered tonight was just incredible. “Honestly amazing food. I got takoyaki and tonkatsu ramen, both of which were amazing. The takoyaki were obviously freshly made, and tasted delicious, and the ramen was flavorful and rich. I got chashu pork in my ramen and my only regret is not ordering extra meat, because it was so tender and flavorful. It was all very reasonably priced, especially considering how massive the portion of ramen was. My entire meal came out to around $20.“
