“I had the opportunity to visit Uchi Philadelphia and decided to try the tasting menu. The food was exceptional, but I’ve always believed that great food tastes even better when it’s served by people who genuinely care—and tonight was a perfect example of that.

Our server, Bre, was fantastic. Friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive without ever being intrusive, she made the entire experience feel personal and effortless. Every course was explained with enthusiasm, and her positive energy elevated an already incredible meal.

A special shout-out as well to the managers, Kinsey and Ashlyn. It’s easy to see that they have built a culture where hospitality comes first. When the leadership sets the right example, it shows in every interaction with the guests.

The tasting menu was outstanding, but what I’ll remember most is how the team made us feel. That’s the difference between a great restaurant and a truly memorable dining experience.

I also had the ribeye/beef broth ramen and it was outstanding, among the best ramen I’ve ever had in the city.“

“My partner and I’s favorite sushi spot, and seems like it’s not as well known yet so makes for an easy to talk date night. (It definitely deserves recognition!) We go for the food which is always great, with many sushi options! The sashimi is always a good cut and the Godzilla roll is probably our favorite special roll. There is a variety of apps, teriyaki and vegetarian options too. Jay, who greets you and is your waiter is AMAZING. He’s very sweet and seems happy to see us, it is worth it to come just to meet him. They are BYOB but also have a nice sake selection.“

“Hands down one of the BEST sushi experiences I’ve had in Philadelphia. From the moment I walked in, I could feel the welcoming, positive energy. The atmosphere is clean, comfortable, and has such a great vibe that makes you want to slow down and truly enjoy your food.

I ordered the shrimp tempura roll — and honestly… I loved it so much that I ended up ordering TWO of them. Perfectly crispy on the outside, warm and flavorful on the inside, and made with extremely fresh ingredients. Every bite tasted better than the last. You can genuinely tell that a lot of care and pride goes into how the sushi is prepared here.

On top of that, I also ordered a shrimp avocado roll to take home, and Min was absolutely amazing. She was beyond kind, patient, and welcoming — the kind of person who makes you feel like a valued guest, not just another customer. She packed everything up quickly and neatly, and made the whole experience even better with her friendly attitude and positive energy.

This place isn’t just about great food — it’s about great people, great service, and a great overall experience. If you’re looking for authentic sushi, high-quality ingredients, generous portions, and a spot that truly cares about their customers, do yourself a favor and come here. I will 100% be back and I’m already looking forward to my next visit.

“We happened upon this gem purely by chance. We had an amazing meal from A-Z (!!!) The sushi is phenomenal; sit at the newly designed sushi bar in the back and enjoy unique daily catches that come in through the connections the owner has with local fishermen. The restaurant is also known for their aged steaks, and Kobe prime rib, which we will try next time. I had the miso black bass and it was one of the best flavors with fish I have ever had. The broth had such a delicate shiitake mushroom flavor, which I loved. I literally couldn’t have had enough of this delicate, delicious dish. I could have had two orders and eaten it all! I think this dish epitomizes what the word UMAMI means. I also had the sautéed mushroom extravaganza, a treat for every taste bud of incredible flavors melted with a delicate sauce. My husband had their unique collection of sushi and sashimi choices that were all enjoyed at their stunningly beautiful sushi bar, complete with two young, passionate chefs who love what they do, and treasure their personal designs of the fish and rolls. All the rolls are presented in this great wooden cradle design, which I thought was so unique and functional. The owner was all smiles and genuinely happy to have had us try his new restaurant. I recommend it highly for either an exceptional steak meal (all are btw, so reasonably priced so order them for sure), or the traditional sushi. You won’t be disappointed. This will be our weekly go-to restaurant and we are counting the days until we will return, which actually will be next Tuesday the 9th! The chicken broth is amazingly rich and full-bodied—pure flavor, no doctoring up required. Pair that with their incredible gyoza and you've got a top-tier meal. If you love authentic, soul-warming ramen, put this spot on your list immediately“

“Great food. Best at Specialty rolls rather than classics tho. Chipped dishware is way too common though. that exposed ceramic can cause silica contamination and speed up damage to the dishes or cause mold growth. Can also be kinda loud. But good service and food.“

“Ate there last night. Everything was delicious, and I'd love to go back in the future. It seemed like the chef did creative riffs on things that made them interesting but still recognizable. To give but one example, I normally don't think of chirashizushi as something special, but the chef made a mini chirashizushi that was absolutely stellar! Also, the menu seems to start with a bunch of starters and such, and you think it's done, but that's when the sushi part starts! We were chatting with the couple around the corner of the counter from us, and it was fun seeing their reactions when they tried these amazing dishes!“
