“I live in Eugene, OR. We have several small coffee roasters but they cost a "nominal egg" as folks in NYC might say and, they never feature Robusta blends. I am so happy to have found Cerini online. I went with a couple kilos of packaged beans and a some of the Cerini beans. The product is PERFECT as was their customer service and very reasonable pricing. My search for a coffee vendor ended, I only need Cerini. STRONGLY SUGGESTED IMPROVEMENT IN PACKAGING: Put a Cerini label with the Bronx address on the bags of Cerini coffee, especially for mail-order customers. It would greatly enhance the "gift" aspect, I feel it is incredibly important for Cerini to do that as it costs so little and means so much.“

“Best coffee in town. All of the baristas are super friendly and nice, never pretentious. You will be welcomed here. I usually get the pour over. Their Las Rosas med light roast is very good. Hint of blueberry notes, dark chocolate. the cold brews are also very good.“

“Absolutely LOVE coming here. The coffee is the best in Rockland. They have a huge selection of quality coffee, delicious teas and pastries. The atmosphere is so relaxed and cozy. “We were craving for pastries from Chocnyc which was recommended by Yelp Top 100 Croissants. It’s kind of far from where we live but no one can stop us from eating.We were satisfied with their line up. We got their Plain Croissant, Caramelized Croissant, Pecan Sticky Bun and Savory Biscuit as first try. The portion was great with reasonable price.Our favorite was the Pecan Sticky Bunwhich was satisfying with soft and rich texture. Their croissant wasn’t our type but it’s still worth a visit.“

The coffee blows me away each time and it is a wonderful place to be. “I found this place awhile ago, a woman in my town makes amazing homemade cheesecakes and recently started selling them here. Checked out the shop on Yelp and the food also looked very delicious and was on a mission to try this place out the next time I was in Hackensack. I would consider this place a gourmet Italian coffee shop. Sounds weird but it is just beyond amazing. They have pasta there for sale that I believe is imported from Italy which I decided to take home a bag for myself. They also have Italian beverages and jars of marinated vegetables they sell. I tried it out for the first time yesterday, I went in wanting this pasta and the owner was working, he told me he only does pasta specials on Wednesday but offered to whip me up something if that's what I wanted which I thought was really nice of him to offer! I didn't want him to go through all that just for one dish so I decided to try the chicken Parmesan and my husband ordered a chicken cutlet. The bread was SO FRESH and the sauce was made to perfection, I was amazed at every bite I took. I also tried my husbands chicken cutlet and it was also outstanding. We finished our meals and then decided to have some of that homemade cheesecake (which I already knew would be delicious) and some coffee. The owner was very genuine and kind and we enjoyed talking to him. Great service great food. Easily 5 star worthy and I already can not wait to return.“

Our orders included birria tacos and Mexican Elote from La Chula Taqueria, a burger with fries from Harlem Public, and a Dominican pizza from the renowned Wahizza. The food surpassed our expectations; my son particularly enjoyed the birria tacos and Mexican Elote. “The pizza in my memory was never salty. At some point, pizza had become salty, sometimes with visible salt on top of the pizza...even in NYC...that I no longer enjoyed pizza. We tried the Classic Cheese Pizza. The crust was thin but crunchy. The sauce was perfectly seasoned; NOT SALTY! We also tried the Bruschetta and the Fungi. We didn't love these flavors as much. Bruschetta could use more cheese, according to my daughter. The Fungi, I loved the toppings but the truffle oil was a bit too strong for my taste. If you love truffle oil, though... “My only complaint is that the lone worker today, when I was paying with a credit card (without tap) took my card and tried to use tap. Before she took my card I was going to put it into the card processor. When I pointed out that it doesn’t have tap, she (2x’s) typed my card information into the register screen and it was declined (plenty of credit was available because I got gas with it shortly after). I then used my debit card which she just took from me and again tried to use tap (again not a feature on that card either). She was finally able to put my card information for the debit card and it went through. If she had let me put my card in in the first place there would have been no problem with the original transaction attempt. I feel some of the staff might need better/more training on using the register.“

“I came to Five Flies with one of my friends for coffee/tea on a Sunday afternoon around 3PM. When we arrived, the place had a healthy number of people, enough to add a nice ambient noise without being too loud or feeling too busy. We were kindly greeted by a very nice staff member at the front. The woman who helped me was super nice: she gave me a rundown of all their baked goods, as well as their varied selection of flavored syrups to add to coffee. I was surprised at how broad their drink selection was, ranging from seasonal espresso drinks, to matcha, to different teas. They also have a pretty impressive baked goods selection that all looked amazing. I appreciated how they had sweets, gluten free options, and also appetizing savory options to accommodate for all tastes and dietary preferences. My friend ordered a latte and I got some hot tea (I selected the Moroccan Mint tea). I wanted to try a cinnamon roll but they were out. Luckily for me, they still had a cardamom bun which I got. I think what struck me most about this place was the unique ambiance. There is a small section in the front with bar stools that is more modern and is the laptop zone. However, when you go to the back, there is a very open space, with high ceilings, tall windows, mismatched furniture, and very eclectic decor which makes it feel like you are in someone else's loft in NYC-- it is unfamiliar, but cozy all at once. I loved how much seating there was available and loved the energy of this quiet room where people were either catching up with friends or reading since this is the no laptop zone. My friend and I talked for three and a half hours and no one batted an eyelash or tried to kick us out! My tea was pretty standard so I definitely want to try their coffee next time which I feel would be the more unique offering here. I ended up trying the cardamom bun the following day and it was delicious! I have never had one of these, but my first impression was very positive. The pastry was flaky but not too buttery and still had some doughy component to it. It had a delicious balance of sweetness and spices that were subtle but had a unique punch to them. This was a perfect item to have on a cold early spring day. I had a very pleasant experience at Five Flies and will definitely be coming back again. The pastry selection was varied and the quality of what I tried was very good, the coffee smelled delicious, and their space was just so cozy and unique-- I could stay there forever! What a great addition to the Washington Heights Community. Highly recommend this place!“
