“I was a regular here for more than ten years, and the food is genuinely some of the best around — the salmon wedge sandwich in particular is phenomenal. I want to be fair, because a place doesn’t earn that kind of loyalty by accident. But over the past year, the service changed. Every visit, the staff seemed angry and miserable, and even a quick four-minute transaction came with an attitude. That’s ultimately why I stopped coming. I still miss the food. I hope the team finds its way back to the warmth that used to match the quality of what comes out of that kitchen.“

Should have posted this a couple of weeks ago to let everyone know what an absolutely beautiful job they did with the delicious Woodland Creatures 1/2 sheet cake for my daughter’s baby shower! Wow! It was so moist and tasty, received so many compliments from the ladies. And you know we ladies love our cakes! The decorator created an over-the-top adorable woodland creatures design. Even the gluten free cupcakes were tasty and gorgeous. Kudos to the entire staff and owner. Everyone was so helpful and lovely. Would highly recommend this bakery when you want the best! Everything is fresh and homemade. Nothing imported or stale. The setup is a little weird with how they have some of the baked goods because it's hard to see them all. I wish it was a little easier to see the selection. Maybe it's a good thing you can't really see everything because I would buy it all and be 900 pounds. Great addition to the area!“

“Literally the best Knafe in all of Paterson. Better than any other spot. Most authentic Knafe I've tasted in America. The most similar I've seen to this one was in Chicago. And I've tried plenty of Knafe in America.

Also their Znud Al Sit are amazing. I usually call in the morning to make an order by noon time for best results.“

The spinach pies are tangy and delicious. My kids love the chicken pies. They also sell olive oil, soft drinks, different types of bread and cookies. Once you start going to Ameer’s you can’t stop. Everything is so fresh and authentic.“

“The Dough palace is a wonderful place with rich, sweet treats. Me and my mom went recently and we got the 12 piece truffle tray. My faves were the cookie monster and the fruity Pebble truffles. They also offer treats for your dog and cookie dough birthday cakes. The atmosphere was well decorated and the owner was friendly and nice. Will be coming back soon.“

“My family and I go here all the time to get cakes for any event! Every cake we have tried has been delicious. Also, they have the best lobster claw pastries I’ve ever had. The cream is rich and the pastry is so light and crunchy, and it even holds up great being stored in the fridge for a few days. I highly recommend this bakery!“

“Best Italian bread around and very reasonably priced in my opinion. Italian pastries are delicious also. Even if you don't live too close by there, it is worth a trip every once in awhile to get really good bread especially for Sunday gravy/sauce. They are open many hours so it's very convenient.“

“Growing up, jelly donuts were at the bottom of my list in terms of flavors. I would eventually eat one, but it would be my last choice. A Polish coworker told me about how beloved jelly donuts are in Poland and I was skeptical of how good a jelly donut could be.

Then I found myself at Kohout Bakery and I've completely changed my tune, because damn, the raspberry jelly donuts are ridiculously good. It's the jelly. It's a very good jelly. It's not gummy or thick. It's full of raspberry flavor and there is plenty of the jelly in each donut. Even a couple of days after purchase, when the donut is a little stale, the donut is still so good because that jelly keeps the interior moist.

Other items in the store are also delicious, including the cream cheese cookies. They are not too sweet and have a great balance of flavors.

The service is very friendly and helpful, always patient with me and my indecisions.

Be prepared to bring cash, but the prices are also very affordable, so you can still get plenty of treats for under $10.
