“We’ve lived in Gloucester for 4 years and never tried this place. Husband and I went for a date night/celebrate my new job and we were very impressed! The decor is adorable. The owner caught me taking pictures of the bar, and he gave me some history on it, the tin ceiling tiles, the vintage light fixtures, and the history of the building. I had a chocolate martini that was delicious, husband had a Manhattan. We shared calamari and crème brûlée, and we both got the special of filet mingon topped with a crab cake. Everything was perfect and delicious. Our server was was also 10/10. I had no idea this little gem was just a few blocks away from our house. Didn’t even have to get in the car! We will absolutely be back. Would love to try some other things on the menu. Was so pleasantly surprised a place like this exists in this area. A true diamond in the rough!“

“I very rarely write reviews, but wanted to this time because the team here and their amazing hospitality makes it feel like home. \nI was there for a business luncheon with a group of ladies and Chef James was so kind to come out and greet us. And J Bird is there almost every time we are and makes us all so comfortable and provides impeccable service.\nFor me, I go to steakhouses when I want to make sure everything is as close to perfect as possible, which is pretty much expected at a place like this.\nHowever, the quality and the service and the amazing way that they make you feel puts this place head and shoulders above any other. \nThanks for an amazing experience always.“

“We've dined here numerous times but last night was off. Started with my Old Fashioned which was so watery. Very weak. My sea bass was very bland and the rice was undercooked. Not their usual at all. On a positive the Pecan Pie was very good as was the service.👍“

“We went on a Saturday night as a group of seven to celebrate my husbands birthday. Even with a reservation, we waited about 40 minutes to be seated because the place was very packed. Once we were seated, and we enjoyed great service, the food was spectacular and everything just fell into place. We really enjoyed this place. We will definitely be coming back for another celebration or dinner. We highly recommend it and highly recommend that you make a reservation before you go.“

“Omg I forgot to rate this wonderful restaurant, I came here late on my birthday 3 wks ago unfortunately;due to Amazon delivering my outfit all late. So by the time we got dressed & had to get the babies ready. We didn't get to restaurant until about an hour b/4 they closed unfortunately. And the waitress was so nice, top tier customer service. We stayed until the last customer was about to leave so I told hubby to ask for doggy bags because I don't wanna be here while they're cleaning and be still eating because I know when I'm at work and it's time to close I don't want no customer staying late running me late to get home to my family lol. So she was so nice no attitude or anything and she was surprised we asked for a doggy bag and hurried up packed food up and paid and left. We made sure to give a big tip too because she deserved that!!! She probably thought we was gonna stay until we finish last bite. No we hate those type of folks lol. We will always come to this restaurant (much earlier of course.) Very professional and clean restaurant. Just amazing 💯 Thank you so much!!“

“I had an amazing meal at this restaurant! Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. We started off with the ribeye pinwheels appetizer, and they were a real treat—perfectly seasoned and cooked just right. For the main course, I went with the ribeye with mashed potatoes, and it was fantastic. The steak was so tender and juicy, and the mashed potatoes were creamy and flavorful, a great match for the ribeye. My friend had the filet mignon with a house salad, and it was cooked perfectly too. The filet was so tender and full of flavor, and the salad was fresh and crisp.

Everything came out just as we hoped—cooked to perfection and full of flavor. It was a great dining experience, and I can’t wait to come back and try more dishes from the menu!“

“Just got back from Kunkel’s for a double wedding anniversary celebration of ours and our son’s. It was a very enjoyable evening with excellent food and excellent service. Our two granddaughters came with us, and they instantly settled comfortably, thanks for the personal care tended by Denise, our server. We love this place for its unhurried atmosphere and for its timeless Americana ambience.“

“From the minute you walk in until you leave is a great experience. The ambiance, quiet and exquisite decoration just leaves you in awe. "Kim" waited on us and I suggest asking for her the next time you go. She is truly a professional with great conversation, knowledge of every dish either special or not and how it's prepared. The Steaks or Seafood done to perfection with much deep flavor and with great presentation. Lobster Bisque with chunks of Maine Lobster to die for. You won't want the evening to end and can't wait to return. It's that kind of place. ENJOY!“

“Food was good and priced reasonably. Staff friendly and service was quick. Parking was bad though, couldn't find anything close by. Ended up just parking across the street where it said Truck loading/unloading only and went in to grab the order. This appears to be what most people are doing too.

Restroom is down the hall, take the elevator down to the basement, and to your left. You can get the code from the security guard on the first floor.“

Tonight I asked for a box for my leftover salad and the manager brought me a whole new one to take home so it wasn’t soggy. He did not have to do that, I was very surprised. “I celebrated my last birthday here. I hosted a dinner party of 20 people. I was able to book the private room without any deposit. The manager Leticia was extremely kind and helpful. I was able to come in earlier to decorate the private room for my dinner party. I enjoyed having my dinner party at Samba. The food options were amazing and the food tasted great! “I went to this, the City Ave location, and it was great! I had the salmon Caesar salad, and I absolutely loved it! It was fresh and delectable. And my server, Aiden (I think that was his name; handsome young man with locs), was the best! He was attentive, helpful and offered great suggestions! Also, Ayana was the hostess and she, too, was friendly with a warm and hospitable demeanor. I will continue to come again! Keep up the good work!“

Turnips and carrots were great—-apple saucy and the broccolini was delicious but a bit too al dente both nights (chef's preference I presume). Here's the kicker! Outstanding , maybe the all time BEST Caesar salad.“

“Decent airport dining experience. Reasonably comfortable seating. Music was loud and jazzy, enough to dim ambient conversations and I didn’t find it to be too annoying. Pretty diverse cocktail menu, which was a pleasant surprise. Drinks came out fairly quickly, food took awhile but that was fine because we had plenty of time to kill. Pancakes and eggs were decent, definitely on the pricier side but I suppose that is to be expected at any airport. Conveniently located across from the restrooms.“
