“I ordered from two good to go, which is an app that gives you discounted meals for less at the end of the night. They gave me liver which I’m not a fan of liver, but I gave it to a friend. I got potato salad. That was delicious a soup with pork in it and vegetables, rice and beans and a vegetable dish with okra and plantains. I will try out their fried chicken soon everything was packaged very good and the place looks very clean. A+

I got the two legs of chicken with salted egg yolk and I got to enjoy the salted egg yolk flavor on fried chicken with very crispy skin and juicy meat. I do miss the size of the brooklyn location but the food still hit the spot“

Got the tropical island chicken sandwich which was juicy, and their burgers are juicy too.

The strawberry milkshake was pretty good as well.

However second time I went the sandwich wasn't as good as the first time.

“Great experience, i had the chance to speak with the owner which walk me through his process of how he makes the chicken, he uses home grown seasoning, which i noticed once i tried the chicken, i was amazed by how delicious it tastes, portions are great compared to the price, the tiramisu is the cherry on top, usually almost everywhere the tiramisu is ordered or bought, his tiramisu is homemade which is sooo delicious, definitely worth it of stopping by and trying!“

“Really delicious food! I came here to try the Polo Better known as Plov or بخاري as they call it in the Middle East.

Ended up trying the Noodles, Manta (better known as Mantu) Lamb Skewers. The manta was the best I ever had in the states! Everything was really delicious!

Since they didn’t have what I came for the chef came out with red tea, which is also really good. This is my go to restaurant whenever I am in the FIDI. I cannot recommend enough! This is one of my all time favorite restaurants in NYC.“

“Everything was spectacular. We got the Disco Fries with caviar and they were phenomenal. Got the chicken bites and fries for my kids, they are super picky and rarely eat but they wolfed them down. The chicken sandwich was absolutely amazing. Crazy surprise was the burger. You wouldn’t expect a chicken spot to have a burger this incredible. “Dropped in for just a snack and got the Crab Rangoons which for some reason I feel are so hard to come by in nyc. These were great! The filling was smooth and had nice flavor, and the dough was very very crispy which is what makes or breaks a rangoon for me so I was happy about that. My only gripe was that the amount of sauce was sooo small and definitely not enough!

Also had a Thai Tea which was not too dense and rich, it was more of a refreshing and lighter, yet still creamy thai tea which was exactly what I needed in the moment so it hit so well.“

To find an excellent poached chicken in Bangkok 🇹🇭it’s a mission so to find one , in the east village is a beautiful and tasty surprise. I had the KHAO MAN GAI - poached chicken 🍗 and the Gai Yang- grilled chicken 🍗. The chicken was tender and juicy , was cooked perfectly and it’s the same for the grilled and the poached, the sauce was spicy 🌶️ and reminded me the streets of Bangkok 🇹🇭the rice and the soup as well were rich, perfect balanced and delicious. “For a place in the middle of a block, it just shines through the chicken was absolutely tender fell off the bone season properly. Had a salad with it. That is an artist beautiful put together did take out which was very fast. The rice beautiful the beans were kidney beans and prepared beautifully. You mix the rice and the beans together and use your spoon and you have a wonderful dish. a chicken is spectacular. Got the Kona cola which is delightful and very hard to get goes very well with the meal. Definitely a must place for everybody to go to much better than the Supermarket chickens. Of course they have many other things on the menu and I’m sure that they were just as equally good come on by say hi and the way we go.“

“I want to say this place was great in food, vibes, and coziness. This is a great definition of a mom and pop restaurant.

Firstly the food.
I had the bulgogi bento. The bulgogi looked, smelled, and tasted amazing. It had the normal bulgogi flavor with that nice hit of smokiness almost like wokhay from Chinese cooking. I loved each bite as the smokiness hit my mouth and nose. The sides of the bento was good too, the dumplings were nice and crunchy with a nice but just a tad bit bland filling, tho to be fair the filling is fairly standard for korean dumplings. The kimichi is what I prefer, which is the more freshly made kind. And the rice was cooked as I expected from a Korean restaurant, which is good. The salads were fine again its a salad, but it was nice that they added kale to the salad adding this bit of variety. The salad dressing was sweet and a bit tangy, mostly sweet which I do like since I have a sweet tooth.

The other bento was the shrimp tempura, I did get one of the shrimp tempura and it was good. The crunchy and breading was nice and you had the shrimp flavor that was still there.

Finally the tteokbokki. It was great. The rice cakes were chewy and soft and the fish cakes were soft and not mushy. The flavor of the sauce was great too, it had this nice umami to it and was the perfect level of spicy to enjoy.

The price for the food was also reasonable. Both bento costed roughly $18 each and the tteokbokki costed $12. They also had an interesting line up of drinks that was nice.

All this aside I want to also note how cozy and welcoming it felt. The lady that was serving us was very kind and caring. She even asked about how the addition of kale to the salad was because it was a new addition that they changed because people liked kale. I really liked that attention to detail. The store was medium sized with some odds and ends here and there but that added to the charm of the place.

I went on a Thursday during lunch time and it had a good amount of business via pick up but I was there alone with the person I was with dining in.

Overall as a Korean I think this place hits better then certain places in mind the food was good and the atmosphere was comforting.

I do regret not trying some of the other menu items I guess I have to return for some more.

For the sake of Google reviews I gave everything a 5. My personal score may be closer to a 4.4 which is high for my own personal score“
