I was dining solo, so grabbed a seat at the counter and ordered the three-stack blueberry pancakes with coffee. The pancakes looked fantastic and tasted even better, the blueberries are baked right into them, although I wouldn’t have complained about a little more blueberry sauce on top.

“We love Colonial Diner and have been going there for years. They have the best food and best staff, along with an amazing atmosphere. My three year old asks to go there for practically every meal and we are always greeted like family when we walk through the door. This is the best diner I’ve ever been to. “We started with the blueberry pancakes for something sweet. Growing up on Long Island, pancakes were a priority for a diner. Here, their pancakes are very similar to what I grew up eating. They are very fluffy and the rendered blueberries in the pancake batter give a very nice sweet/acidic contrast. They were perfect.

The chorizo burrito was very creamy and every bite was enjoyable, thats the description I will use. The home fries were very well seasoned using an even amount of peppers/onions with the potatoes.

The chorizo benedict was great. The hollandaise sauce was different in the sense that it didnt taste like a traditional benedict sauce. Traditionally the yolk and the vinegar are the stars of the sauce. This sauce had a different taste that made those two ingredients not that star. The saltiness of the chorizo on top was fantastic, mixing with the creaminess of fresh avocados and perfectly poached eggs. The muffin was also perfectly toasted.

Overall, an amazing local restaurant and I will be coming back for sure!“

“Abbie’s Diner is back and better than ever. They freshened up the interior with new tables, chairs and decor. This morning we had pancakes French toast, eggs, bacon, and sausage. Everything was delicious and the service is super friendly. A couple of cool things to note: their coffee is really good now, they have whole grain toast, and you can get blueberry pancake pancakes. If you haven’t been back since them reopening, recommend going soon!“
