“the place thats near us is a bar and grill, and its inside of a really old ass cottage thats sunken into the ground. Like its literally sunk into the ground by a good five or six feet or so, the whole building. So you gotta go into the stairwell they built under the road to get in there. I think it's not actually Jimmy's corner, but people call it Jimmy's corner. Mhmmm, Mhmmm, it's half eaten.“
“Great Bar!Nice atmosphere with locals, good music and an essential argument: the prices of the beers; between $3 and $9 per pint!!!Free hot dog with any purchase; “the cherry on the cake”A must-see in New York after the Empire State Building and Central Park“
“Dive Bar is a nice spot!! Located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, the atmosphere + vibes are quintessential for a dive (& that's what makes it so great). They make a good margarita and their fries are a perfect shareable bite!!“
“Best dive bar with live music in NJ! Amazing place to have a drink and hang. Staff is super cool and chill. It’s a great venue to get right up front to watch bands or just hang back by the bar and enjoy the show. There are a couple of public lots nearby and on street parking is usually pretty easy to find. Concert tickets and alcohol prices are extremely reasonable.“
“I love stopping by while I'm in Queens. Now that I have discovered they have an Elf mural and a resident (of sorts) French bulldog with his own barstool, this is a must stop while visiting this neighborhood. Super laidback and the drinks are cold and flowing. The staff wants to ensure a good experience! Live music when I was there on a Friday early evening. Cheers!“
“Bob's is the most balanced bar in NY : his cheap beers come with a very serious service. Games are available for free, and the place is spacy enough for you to bring all your friends to get wasted or more. Trustable owner who kept my ID for several days before I realized I lost it while laying l the floor. Thanks Bob's!“
“Great local Irish bar. I was staying a week at a nearby hotel and this place had the exact Irish bar feel I needed. I instantly felt like a regular they were glad to see, coming and going. Proper for an Irish place. Good pours on the beers. I was here for the first 2016 Presidential Debates and there was a lot of opinions, but in true NYC style, nobody got bent, no matter how much of a (&%$g idiot the other person was.“
“A must go! It's a fun dive bar type of vibe but definitely good music and a lot of fun. The best part is the themed shots! I can't say much more but definitely check it out when you go!!! They have so many unique drinks all reasonably priced. Will be back!“
“Stopped by while out and it was a cozy dive bar with various drink options. I tried the Nothing Rhymes with Blood Orange Margarita which was good ... a little on the sweet side but not too bad. Overall it was a nice experience due to the nice staff and ability to drink, relax and chat with friends over the low music.“
“I Love Covid94 I’ve been visiting for 7 months now and i love it. The owners are great guys very friendly and sociable. this has become my new spot. The food, the ambiance is great. If you’re in the Nutley / Belleville/ Bloomfield area make sure you stop in.“
“I used to go to the original location many years ago when I lived in NYC, so I was eager to check out the new location on a recent trip. It's still a classic New York dive bar with great service and great prices. As long as the Subway Inn still stands, I'll make a point to visit every time I'm in the city.“
“If I could give this place a million stars, I would because this establishment is more deserving of it than any others I’ve been to. Hole in the wall bar that makes you feel like you’re part of a community. Asad is by and far one of the best, if not the best bartenders I’ve ever met. He makes you feel like you’re family and you’re at home. And in regards to the bar food- some of the best I’ve ever had. HIGHLY recommend the mozz sticks and buffalo wings.Long story short, if you live in or are visiting LIC, this bar has been my go to for years. You won’t regret coming here.“
“We had the VFW in Astoria booked for a celebration of life for my mom and brother. We waited and waited and no one showed up to let us in. A crowd began to gather and still no word from the VFW. My wife and sister searched the area and stumbled up The Local. They explained our situation and the bartender was more than accommodating. We were able to use the outside area which was quite spacious and bring our own food!!! All they asked was that we bought some drinks(which were amazing!!!) I will definitely visit the Local whenever I'm in Astoria!!!“
“Great little staple of the clifton community. Many of the old tavern bars cease to exist, but this one still stands strong. And there's a reason why basements style esthetics and lively atmosphere keep long time patrons coming back.Want a man's cave and can't afford it? This place is the next best thing. From pool to darts, to sports on their many TVs, theres something to keep you around and occupied.Their staff and owners are attentive and friendly. They will keep you serviced and make you feel like one of the family as soon as you open that door.If you're looking for a bar like cheers,"Where everybody knows you name," look no further. Stop in and dedice for yourself.“
“Good location, plenty of parking. Inside is on the smaller side, but the staff and the regulars are very friendly and welcoming. Food menu is limited, nothing extraordinary and can't say much for the drinks as I didn't try the beers, but the ambiance is pretty good if you're looking for an easy, laid back night out.“
“An awesome dive bar that you would typically see in the East Village. The place is laid back and unpretentious. They have a happy hour special with $5 beers, but honestly, it's not even needed. Their beers are regularly $5-$7 as it is. There is a small outdoor seating area at the back as well and the bartender offers free popcorn to everyone. Overall, this is a nice spot to hit up after dinner.“
“Its more about the ambience and friendliness of this bar that anything else. You can enjoy a well priced beer and relax and enjoy the company of the amazing patrons. Its a great place to relax they also have an arcade machine with Pacman and .. 1948 ? Idk the plane one classic“
“We went to a fancy meal and my wife surprised me with this treasure after. If you like dive bars, if you like glam rock, and if you like places with no marketing department, then THIS is your place. David and Gayla were the regulars we hung out with. If they aren't there, just sit on the far right, and look up. Their names are on the ceiling. They were awesome. I bartended for 14 years and tried to make everyone's day better through my actions. You MEET Pete for 10 seconds, and he doesn't have to talk. Your day is already better. He knew about the Britney Fox breakup and played the band, he knew about how Whitesnake dissed John Sykes, and now will go listen to Blue Murder albums. He played Warrant. He played Kix. And he played Extreme pre-Van Halen and then had a conversation about all Van Halen singers. And there are specials, some with Bud, and one shot and beer for us IPA drinkers. Magical experience. And pretty sure Ed Norton was there. Pic below. Good luck finding the entrance, but it is worth it once you do. Definitely recommend, and see you there (next time I am out East).“
“Best dive bar in the hackensack area. Owner is awesome. Bartenders are the best and the bar is unforgettable!!! Everything is good at this bar!! They got an awesome pool table darks and the food is unbelievable. Wish I could give them more the. 5 “
