“I've ordered several dishes from this place over the years... I have never been disappointed. Portions are decent, flavors are authentic, staff isn't rude & unwelcoming. I have OCD & I'm very picky about how I like my food plated... I know this can be annoying for some, but this place has never given me grief about it. We're paying for it, so oblige. All in all... I would highly recommend this restaurant.“

“I like that they offer a $10 lunch special, including veg and plantain with a soda...but it's only chicken. But seriously...you not gonna oder just that! You gotta get a patty or festival or something else that catches your eye. I had the curry chicken (a little spice but good) and a beef patty, bc they were out of chicken. I ate almost everything...and I don't feel bad about it! Will visit again, but try to avoid the out of school kids.“

“Absolutely one of the best jerk chicken lunch I’ve ever had in years. My mother ate their Oxtail stew dish and it was delicious too. Full flavoured food with excellent quality & portion. Friendly helpful staff are also welcoming. I bought the fried whiting fish fillets and some fried chicken wings to take home. Will definitely be back again to eat all the other dishes! Yummy ? proper jerk chicken with rice & beans that were moist not dry like other places we’ve tried in Manhattan.

“We had the curried chicken and jerk chicken, both with rice, and a bottle of ginger beer. Found a place to sit (can be tricky in a place like this) and thoroughly enjoyed our food. The chicken was super moist and the rice was super tasty. Really great food. Service was fine, music tad loud but nice fit to the food & atmosphere. Place really reminded me of my trip to Jamaica - best Jamaican food I've had in years, to be honest.

“Food is excellent. I wish it was a little bigger. Lunch time the line is long they need more room. In the back the cook need more room as well. Excellent seafood soup ,whole fish dinner must try. All the soups are great. Good food . Eat there 2 or 3 times a week.“

“I’ve been here twice and gotten the oxtails with, plantains and rice and beans. The flavor is out of this world and the oxtail is incredibly tender. They were also generous with their portion sizes. I really enjoyed the meal so much! They offer a lunch special, medium and large size for dishes.“

“Been coming to Melting Pot for years. The food is always solid and consistent. I haven’t tried anything from here that I don’t like. Jerk chicken and oxtail is always fresh and flavorful. They make a fresh pineapple ginger juice that’s amazing. Everyone I’ve brought here always enjoy the food.“

“Went for brunch on Sunday and so glad I made a reservation; place was jamming and some were waiting when we arrived, but not for long. They were turning tables quickly and there is also a bar to sit out. Tight seating all around and there is outside seating as well for nicer days. Service was attentive, quick, and nice. Our food came out surprisingly fast for a full restaurant and was hot and very tasty. This is a great neighborhood spot and glad we tried it. Will be back.“

“They hooked me up! Delicious food; good portions. I usually get oxtail from Jamaican restaurants. I'd say it's one of the top of the restaurants I've eaten from.

That said, oxtail is generally an expensive meat to buy and can be hard to cook right. So, it can be difficult to find places like this that give you a decent amount. And I've orderd from them a few times, so I can say their potion size is generally consistent from what I've seen.“

“My partner and I decided to try this place based on the reviews and let me tell you it did NOT disappoint! We ordered the large jerk chicken meal, macaroni and cheese, and small chicken soup! This is a hole in the wall spot! Our food was DELICIOUS! I will 100% be ordering again but a LARGE chicken soup. The soup had so much flavor and the chicken just slipped off the bone! The mac also had so much flavor and was so good! The jerk chicken was a bit spicy for me but I don’t have a high tolerance to spice. My partner said it was good! He couldn’t decide what part was his favorite and said he would go back again! The service was great! Next time you get gas, help yourself to some hearty, home cooked Jamaican food!!“

“This is a great place to eat. Vendors are friendly and food is really good. The j*** chicken was my favorite (really hot, yes!) and the rice is soft, well cooked. They also have a variety of salad mix. The potato salad was really good. I'm not a fish eater but even the seafood smell good. Price is reasonable, I think it's 9$ a pound but less money if the weight is less. It's definitely worth it.

The food was very tasty, staff was friendly, ambience was great. I got the curry goat with rice and peas which was well seasoned and cooked to perfection.
