“Nile Cafe in Germantown offers affordable vegan Soul food with big flavor! The modest interior is lightly decorated and sparsely seated. There were maybe six two-chaired tables. Outdoor seating options are available. Walking in, locals cycled in, ordered, waited, and cycled out constantly. All the food, served in to-go containers, was fantastic. The duck in gravy and the jerk chicken stole the show before we had the dessert. After being impressed, we dug deeper into the menu. The coffee ice cream was super creamy and the cake was moist and decadent. Nile Cafe is special. Although there isn't much on the menu we didn't try, the food was definitely worth a revisit. I might just stop in for dessert when I'm around.“

“Where a do I begin? A hidden jem surrounded by culture and love. I have been ordering from the owner for many many years and have followed wherever his team has gone. Low and behold he opened a resteraunt/catering. I’ve had him cater a baby shower, funeral and graduation party. I’ve had attendees ask who did the cooking and I can’t praise them enough. Delivered on time hot and ready. Having a cousins family reunion Saturday and who did we call Mylestone…thank you for all the many years of great food, exceptional service. “First to start the restaurant is very clean. From the tables to the employees taking care of your food. Hospitality is there greet you as you walk in and even when you leave. Also you get a lot of food for the price. I love the whiting when I do come by and the spicy sauce is amazing to put on the food. Overall I give Delicious Dishes a 10/10

“Traveling to Philadelphia, I wanted to support a black-owned business. I found BlackHen like most people (through social media of course). The name and the bold decor caught my eye. So creative! I made reservations on Open table (as it's a smaller venue) HIGHLIGHTS: Bri was our waitress , she was very polite and kind. I ordered the 4 wings, with collard greens and candied Yams. I also ordered a Mac and cheese. Oh my goodness... the food was all that. I thought I was in the South. Everything came out hot 🔥. It was crazy delicious. Chicken was fried just right and seasoned so well. My taste buds waa trying to figure it out! Greens were just right not too vinegar and not too sweet. They also had a "kick' to it. Candied Yams could really be the dessert. It was good. The Mac and cheese was.on point. ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT: The meal didnt come with bread or cornbread (I didn't realize it till I was finished) Music- I thought i saw somewhere, that R&B music waa played. Rap (with explicit language) was the only thing in rotation. My daughter is 15 and she commented to me about the music since there waa a family there with two minor kids Please dont look at this as a negative review. Whenever. I'm in Philly. I WILL visit again. The branding caught my eye, but its the food that will have me return.“

“I don't want to be that person that give a low rating, so I'll still give 4 stars. I visited the restaurant for the first time in over 10 years. I just remembered that I enjoyed the chicken breast sandwich last time( I usually hate fried chicken breast because people overcook it). I ordered the chicken breast sandwich today and it costed close to $12 for it😑. Mind you they have menus with no prices so I was kinda surprised by the price. I got to the car and there was a band wing and a small overcooked chicken breast! I'm super disappointed because I was really looking forward to that sandwich. Hopefully next time is better. I'll give them another chance since I unintentionally went within 30mins to closing. Idk I guess we'll see! I know I used to love the banana pudding too so I'll probably try that again too to see if it's still good.“

“BEST SOUL FOOD IN PHILLY !!! the entire menu is so mfn fire and the prices are extremely reasonable. Portions do not disappoint and flavors are ideal. I grew up in the south and have tried soul food around Philly and have repeatedly been disappointed until I found soul boat. I was apprehensive at first as it is owned by an asian family but they’re cooking is VALID and could put a lot of y’all’s aunties and grandmas to shame ?? the fried fish is so fresh and the gravy is drinkable. “First and foremost I love the location and decor of building. Awesome Awesome Customer service. Menus were legible and neat. Food was prompt and on point. OMG the Turkey wings are gonna drive you guys crazy! The Mac n Cheese had to come from someone's grandma cause it's on point. Highly recommend to go there because I'm definitely going back myself.
