“Nice spot good vibes and music. The place was packed on a Friday night but my friend and I didn't wait long. Our waitress Sid was excellent and very accommodating. She had great recommendations and let us sample the frozen dousse cocktail. We had the catfish Mac and cheese, collard green dip and gumbo. Everything was delicious. I will definitely be coming back again.“

The food is delicious too! I’ve tried the wraps, chkn salad, and hoagies and highly recommend. Also tried both soups, “fish” stew, drumsticks, jerk chickpeas and curry chickpeas, and chkn with gravy which were DELICIOUS. favorite sides are cabbage, collard greens, and Mac n cheese.“

“I had the Ribs and chicken….the signature sauce is the way to go. The greens and Mac and cheese were 🔥 My wife got the brisket sliders and loved them and the potato salad. “It is very seldom that I leave a review or comment but IT WOULD BE SELFISH OF ME TO NOT SHARE THIS GOOD OL’ FOOD. The soul food is bomb, I had the Cheese steak rolls, Cabbage, and butter corn) and the African food was just how I like it , a little spice but not to much to were I couldn’t not enjoy it (Potato Greens and Rice). If you are in the 69th street, Darby, south west area and have not tried JC Afrosoul food, then Please get there now !!!! “The service looks good. The food smelt wonderful. The atmosphere of the actual business need a makeover. It just need a business makeover. Everything in there looks old grimy and Dusty old papers. Old metal. It's dark and dingy. Looking from the outside it just need remodeling for us place that serves food. It almost look like a old beat down raggedy bar but the food smell good and the service was nice. That's all I can say

“So I was having an event and the place I usually get the mac & cheese & ribs from didn't send me the catering menu from, and another place never responded back at all.
So I saw Butter's Soul Food listed and I sent an email asking about catering for about 30 people for ribs, mac & cheese, fried fish, and potato salad.
Kevin Bell responded to the email in a timely manner, and I asked for a price for the 4 things I listed.
I confirmed that I would be picking the items up on what date & time and didn't need them to set up anything.
He responded again in a timely manner with pricing, and decided to go with a contract with him.
All I'm saying is the event was 8-22-26, and people are still talking about how good all the food was, but wanted to know where I got the mac & cheese, fish, potato salad, and ribs from. All the food was seasoned very well, and my mom who is a very good cook raved about all of it especially the potato salad.
I had never done any business with Butter's before, and if I have another even I would definitely go back to them again.
Also the date I was to pick up all the food it was ready on the date, and time agreed on“
