“Everything about this place is ?!I happened to speak with the owner, who let me know that this restaurant sources an acai base that utilizes cane sugar, as well as lower sugar content in their pitaya.That's not the only option for a base! They have pumpkin, matcha, coconut, etc, I've tried them all, and all delicious.Also, if you are here early enough, they make overnight oats!“

“This place is, with out a doubt, the best Acai/Chia pudding place I have ever been to. On top of that, the chia pudding recipe tis shop is using is something distinctly different from other chia pudding I've had. It's blue, and tastes far more awesome than normal chia pudding.I accidentally discovered this little shop while visiting a friend near Montclair. I live in NYC - caught a train to Montclair Bay St station, and wandered up the block from there looking for some treats to share with friends.Jackpot.I don't live near Montclair, and this location is not convenient to me. However, I now go out of my way to visit this shop whenever I'm passing through the nearby train line.Worth it.If you (please) bring boomchia to downtown Brooklyn, I would eat there everyday. As it stands I'll have to settle for once a week.“

“This is an excellent smoothie and acai bowl place, with a very fitting name! All of the fruit was fresh and smoothies are made to order. I was able to customize a smoothie with almond milk, spinach, banana, Nutella, blueberries, and avocado. It was actually surprisingly good and hit just the spot. So glad to have found this healthy juice/smoothie place in Jersey City!“

“I bumped into this shop shortly after they opened not too long ago. I was extremely pleased with my experience. Excellent juicy lamb and chicken gyro sandwiches, salads, and rice platter! All halal, too.They also serve other dishes. Their menu is not extensive, but I prefer this, since everything is made freshly and their turnover is really fast. The salads are very fresh, everything is juicy and their portions are very generous. The gyro sandwiches and platters include a can of soda, so everything is in my opinion very competitively priced.The people in the store are very kind and attentive, and I have become a frequent visitor who is greeted with a smile. When showing the place to a visiting family, who praised the platter the “best gyro” they ever had, the owner gave one of the kids an extra platter to enjoy later. I think this speaks for itself.Kid-friendliness: High chairs, very casual, very kid friendly operators.“

“Great coffee and tea! Perfect staff: they all care deeply about their craft, and they want you to enjoy it as much as they do.And apparently it’s a climbing gym too! It’s a bizarre place, and I love it.There are books and games around, and some cool seating.“

“I recently found Jungle Bowls after strolling around Bay Ridge and being a fan of anything acai, I had to try it and am overall glad that I have! It is a small shop, but full of selections that can appeal to all those looking for a quick drink or desiring something more substantial. There are lots of offerings that vary from shots, to juices, smoothies, acai bows (and other varieties like coconut, pittaya etc) to toast and even overnight oats!I’ve ordered their acai bowls, overnight oats and most recently a “Hulk” smoothie. The acai bowls are plentiful and chocked full of yumminess with a substantial amount of acai. The overnight oats are rich, hearty and satisfying. The smoothie was my least favorite because all I could taste was the protein and the almond milk and none of the kale, banana and strawberry that were supposedly in there. So here are my impressions:Pros- Clean, friendly staff, good prices, tasty options and did I mention the variety!Cons - if they’re overwhelmed with a large order, be prepared to wait. I ordered 3 items and even though I was cautioned that they were finishing up a large order in front of me, I waited 23 minutes and saw 2 customers who came in after me get served and had their orders done. I understand that they had single items, but it is not fair to watch people come in after me get their items while I waited as long as I did. And even though the staff was apologetic, there was no compensation offered for that. Smoothies could be more balanced flavor wise.Give them a shot when you’re in the neighborhood. I’ll definitely be back for the acai and oats.“

“Nice for a good espressoIts variety of products are a real temptation...I only ask that you put the prices on the menu..The fact that only you know how much each product you sell is worth leaves me at a disadvantage of not knowing if you are really giving me the right price.“

“Chicken cheese steak was one of the best I’ve ever had. Wide variety of food on the menu along with affordable prices. Bagels are great. Great looking corner store. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. Really came in handy being open 24/7 and essentially having everything you need.“

It’s my fave go to whenever I’m in town visiting my Dad & younger Brother.It’s always so fresh and clean, they offer amending customer service.It’s such a plus that they have some pre-made wellness shots, and they carry Detox Bitters &other supplements like Irish moss, hibiscus, raw black seed & more.They also carry a variety of skincare goodies. “One of the freshest poke bowls you'll ever eat. The salmon and tuna are always yummy, especially with the many different sauces they offer. I always do take out because there's very little room to sit. Only thing I wish would improve is if they could cut the salmon pieces a little smaller (the other place I go to does this). But overall, the avocado and all the other ingredients are always super fresh, which you can't say about all poke places.“

“I got hooked on my oat flat white with coconut cream syrup (so delicious, please don’t take my word for it alone and try it yourself :)). Best chocolate chip cookies i’ve ever had and they are vegan. The staff is always nice and I think the inside is nice, airy and pretty. I’d recommend you checking it out.“

“Really decent smoothie bowl shop! I was surprised to see a smooth bowl location that could customize so easily. A lot of the places I have visited before do not allow much customization because of pre-made bowls and they never customize without charging extra. I really enjoyed that about this place! The staff here were really kind and the owner was really sweet! It was a nice quaint location with a cool ambience. It had a lot of fresh colors and accents and it gave a nice vibe. The location was perfect next to the Newport station and its close to the Hudson which Made eating with a view great! I would highly recommend the acai base. I was the biggest fan of the blue narwhal but I understand how it could be a fan favorite for those who love coconut! Overall, I'd go again and really recommend it!Vegetarian options: All bowls were vegetarian. They were great about keeping common allergens separate.“

“I met a work colleague here the other day as we were looking for someplace to set up for the afternoon prior to an evening event. I ordered espresso and it was excellent. I then ordered a chicken sandwich with grilled peppers and onions, it was very very good. The Cafe is constantly busy and there are teenagers everywhere because I'm guessing there is a high school near by. The bathroom was impeccably clean!“

“Very good option for desserts and some other baked goods. The prices are high for the quantity and ingredients.... But people are used to paying for a treat like what is sold here. Monday is beautiful, fresh, clean and welcoming. The attention is good! They should just review the prices and lower them a little and maybe then they will have many more customers and earn more from volume sales than from one-to-one sales.“

“Come here often. Depending on the time it’s usually full of students. The Nutella açaí bowl never fails me. Only thing missing from here that others have are the bottled juices and health drink shots. I don’t know why they don’t have them here. Staff is okay.“

“This is my after jiu jitsu training spot for a refreshing bowl. My personal fave is the passion fruit bowl (add Nutella if you're feeling frisky) The service is quick and efficient and the decor is super cute and beachy. It's a smaller spot so it's not like you can go with a big group but it's def a cute spot for a day date or again after gym, after training activities.“

“I just picked up some takeout from this place... OMG, it's amazing! So authentic! The food is fresh and delicious. I got the chicken and cheese, puff pastry, cheese, bread, balls, and a chicken with Brazilian cheese pancake. The pancake is an actuality a crepe , which makes it even more amazing. “The owner of this location is really kind. I ordered through ubereats at the wrong location and called them and they were nice enough to try to cancel my order. I told them to proceed with my order since that option is not there for ubereats to cancel, and the owner felt bad so he offered to give me the ginger shots. He also kept our açaí bowls cold before we arrived to pick it up. The ginger shots were really refreshing, we felt a surge of energy after drinking it. We ordered the Nutella açaí bowls and it was so good. Definitely recommend! Special thanks to the owner for accommodating for us!“

“Located close to the Weehawken reservoir in Union City on the Palisade Ave, this outlet is a bit away from the hustle and bustle of the busy union city area close to the Jersey City! The atmosphere is cool with the music setting up vibe for a pleasant dining experience! The servers are friendly too with a warm smile but didn't seem to offer a particular opinion about the recommendations! I went for a goldie mango bowl which had mango at the bottom, topped with granola, bananas, strawberry and Nutella! The mango paste did seem a bit sweet as in terms of extra added sugar which shouldn't be there as they market themselves as a healthy restaurant. The ingredients were definitely fresh and the cost though seemed to be a bit on the higher side given the location! Overall a good experience for me but not sure about returning soon as there could be better options offering the same thing in my neighborhood of Jersey city!“

“I do love playa bowls but try to check other bowls businesses. So in general their bowls are good but my bowl was sooo sweet I couldn’t even finish. I’m not sure if they mistakenly added too much honey or something else on my bowl but I couldn’t enjoy it unfortunately. Leaving 4 stars.“

“Natas & Bowls is my go to breakfast spot. If you like açaí bowls, or bowls of any kind, ditch Playa Bowls (sorry not sorry) & head there! The difference in quality, taste, all of it is obvious. Everytime I go, I get the same order and I am never disappointed. The location has a cool vibe between the chill music, the murals on the wall and the retro Pac-Man machine you can play while you wait. Mauro also makes incredible pasteis de nata, a delicious Portuguese custard that he is constantly perfecting and adding new flavors, seasonally. Check them out!“

“I happen to love Baya Bar and am happy they are located near my home. I always order the same pressed juice: spinach, kale, ginger. apple, pineapple and honey. The service is fast, friendly and courteous. The shop is small but there is seating near the window. When I'm craving some badly needed get up and go when my get up and go had left, Baya Bar is there to the rescue.“

“My boyfriend and I are visiting from Kansas and he is celiac so we decided to try this place because of their gluten-free options. I've never really eaten Pokey so I was planning on going to Taco Bell afterwards. I ended up trying the California roll Bowl and was blown away! The sauce they use is delicious and I literally couldn't stop eating it! Zee made our food and was super friendly and helpful in customizing our smoothies. “I've been to four different Playa Bowls, and I have to say that I do love the one in Montclair the most. The atmosphere is just so calm and relaxing. They're not playing loud music with vulgar lyrics. (I've been to one that does that.) I also love that the worker who took my friend's order had memorized the two bowls that she frequently orders for herself and her husband. She knew every customization and recited it to my friend before she could even place her order. I was impressed.“
