“This restaurant is very nice. To start, it's a great place to go before an event at the Red Bull Arena. It's very close only about 3-4 blocks away from the stadium. The atmosphere in the restaurant is very nice with quiet music playing and nice tables spaced out so you won't be cramped next to someone. They have outside seating for a nice summer day with a tent over the outside seating to stay cool. You won't be having any problems with the service because it is great! They have a bar so you can stop by and get a drink with your friends. There are lots of options on the menu and happy hour everyday from 5-7:30. Now for the food. The food is great! The food came out fast and hot. We ordered the chicken strips, crab cake, and the flatbed pizza. We also got the calamari the was amazing! The price is also very reasonable. Overall I would suggest this restaurant if you want some dinner and you are near Harrison.“
“Everything was great about this place from the food to the service. Music was a bit loud though for a really small crowd. I went to watch some of the football game under the impression it was a sports bar. (Google may have gotten this wrong though). I would definitely come back, just not to watch a game. Haha. The pizza was great and a friend of mine said their wings were the best in town so I will definitely come to try the wings.“

The bartenders are super friendly and pored so much wine for me and the Guinness is on point (can’t try Guinness anywhere else but here), no Rudy customers like other bars in FiDi, and just shocked at how reasonable it is! (Independent family run). Have to come back for their food!“

“I live in Maryland, and was up in Jersey visiting family. My girlfriend, cousin and I all had dinner on 3/23. Sam provided excellent service, and drinks recommendations. In addition, we had an 8:30 reservation, yet never felt rushed. Thanks again to Sam.Cocktails we had were the Smooth operator, steel magnolia, and the southwest cider. All 3 were amazing. Kudos to the barteam as well.We had the calamari and burrata as appetizers, both fantastic.Next time we find ourselves in Jersey, we will be back 100%.“

“I just had the best experience at Q'tal! Our server was so attentive but also gave us space to talk and catch up. She was so kind and everything she recommended was delicious. I highly recommend the jackfruit croquettes and the sliders which I love that they have vegan options for someone like me. I'm not sure of the name it was a passionfruit cosmo type drink and I didn't even realize it came out with a dry ice bubble. 10/10 for presentation on everything and ambiance. They have a dining area which feels a little more formal ( the chairs were so comfy by the way) and then a bar area with high tops which I think would be great for a girls night. I already can't wait to go back!“
“I've decided this is my go to bar to bring everyone when we meet up from family, friends, coworkers, day drinking etc. I like the theme nights, bingo, trivia, bands, etc. I want business to go well from them so they open with kitchen & its profitable all week. “I have been here a few times and I mean it is a typical pub like any other. It's pretty clean and it can get full. I had their burger one drunken night and I knew it was good but I didn't quite remember it. So today my husband and I got their burger again and HOLY, it is one of the best I have had in JC. My husband actually told the bartender the story about how we tried a hyped up burger in the area and it was so so and she actually told the owner about it and he made us the burger from scratch. This place is very JC and they have such great service and food!“

“This review is mainly about the bar and entertainment at Rocky's Bar and Grill. Since I have never eaten there (yet) I am not rating the food. First, with so many local bars having entertainment closing/closed since covid, I'm greatful for those surviving and some thriving providing musical entertainment whether it be karaoke, DJ or live music to its patrons. Been going to Rockys, which is about 25 miles away for me for years on occasion primarily to see classic and hard rock bands, mostly cover bands perform. There is ampke room between the band and patrons if they decide to dance and seating surrounding the open floor area. People attending all seem to be there to have a good time and have never seen any issues. The bar is not fancy and that's alright with me. They have a back area outside with tables for sitting, drinking, private conversation, smoking, etc. which works for me. There is a parking lot behind the bar and usually fills quickly when a band is playingweekend nights. The staff are attentive, hustle to serve everyone and are generally friendly. Drink prices are reasonable and pour seems standard for (my) mixed drinks. The bar reminds me a little bit like Moby's in Woodbridge but with more room to see/enjoy the band. If you're into live music I would recommend going to Rockys to see some of the local bands. Saw both Kathouse and Stereo Circus bands there and loved them both. Love a place that supports live music. Will be back!!“

“Just had drinks but the female bartender was so friendly that our "one and done" stop turned into 4 each. Pricing was more than fair, and everyone else in the bar seemed to be having fun and everyone was respectful of all the other groups of people.“
“Definitely sit outside if you can! Even if it's cold. The heaters work well enough that you don't need a jacket. Our server Marisa took great care of us. She had great menu knowledge and was friendly and quick. Everything we ate was delicious. I wish the French toast could come in a half portion, though :)“

“We were in the area and stopped in for the first time on Saturday night after our x-mas pictures and I am so glad we did. We dined upstairs, they had music which is something they are planning to do on occasions throughout the winter. The owners are incredibly nice, our waitress was so sweet & super attentive. We just had a casual dinner with great drinks, wings and their specialty pizzas, all fantastic! My 6 year old son said they make the best wings & Shirley temples. My husband and I can't wait to have a date night soon and check out there downstairs bar area as well! If you are in the area definitely check it out!“
“I came here to order food to take out. The bartender took my order quickly and offered me a drink while I waited. I ordered a margarita on the rocks with salt. It was a really great drink. I sat there caught some sports and enjoyed my drink. I took home an order of chicken tenders which I forgot to take a picture of. There was six perfectly fried and fresh chicken tenders with a side of honey mustard sauce. Everything was great and the price was right. I enjoy Salty Dog and they keep the place clean. Staff is very attentive. I always enjoy eating and dinking here.“

“We recently held a memorial service for my father at The Old Canal Inn. Mark and his staff were professional, detail oriented, and kind. The food and atmosphere were incredible. They welcomed us and our guests like family. My dad loved to go there for a beer and I understand why. I will visit there every time I am back in the area from Massachusetts. “Was visiting family I decided to stop in my old neighborhood and from a previous stop last year, I know that this place is a solid choice for both food and drink. Sitting at the bar I had a Guinness or two and decided to order pork chops based on the suggestion of the regulars sitting on either side of me. It was a solid recommendation because not only was it much tastier than anything that the chain restaurants offer, but even being very hungry I could barely finish it (the portions are big, they don't skimp). Even though the lady bartender is attentive enough to anticipate when you need a refill and the regulars are friendly, I am still somewhat hesitant to say much more and draw attention to what appears to be a hidden gem.“

This is located right on the water. On a warm day the sunset would be amazing. Too bad the day we went it was pouring cats and dogs. We have plans to return when it warms up.Parking: There is free unpaved parking behind the restaurant. I chose paid parking across the street because it was raining very hard and I did not want to walk through dirt and gravel with my shoes.Wheelchair accessibility: If dropped off in the front, you can easily navigate the entire first floor and the restrooms are big enough to accommodate a chair.“

I can't think of one thing this bar doesn't make convenient. The Brightside Tavern might be Jersey City's best neighborhood bar. You don't need a reason or an excuse to go here, just do it.“

“I wanted to try the local bar for a while now. I absolutely loved it there. I went on a Thursday since weekends they get crazy mobbed. My sister and I had 4 drinks in total. 3 cocktails and one draft beer. We split an order of wings and she had the clams in garlic sauce and I opted for a picadinho which is one of the best ones I've had, by far. We paid about $120 with tip and thats the only reason for the 4 star. Its a bit expensive for a local bar. Unless of course their looking to be more than just a local bar.“

Either way, we went in because it was close, and we had a big party of about 30-40 ppl. They not only took us in, but they also offered us a deal of $35 pp. It was a great deal. The apps were delicious, the service was fast, and the entrees were very good. Food came out fast for the number of ppl we had. The bartenders and servers went all out, and they did an amazing job. we took over that place, and they let us do our thing.Thank you all for making our family after the funeral last minute lunch stress free so we can cry, eat, drink and catch up.“
“I met a couple of my old coworkers there December 20th after 4 years. I wanted to go to a highly rated family-run place and this establishment didn't disappoint. The burgers, meatloaf and pita wraps were excellent. The owner Vinnie greeted us and seated us, then came by to chat with us. The server was attentive and seemed to like her job. About a 15 - 20 minute walk from the Harrison PATH station. I will be making future visits there with old collegues.“
