“We’re regulars at the bar here. Always great food drink and service. That’s why I decided to have them cater and host our event at their “Picketts Upstairs” . We had a group of fifty. Spacious good looking room. Our own bar and bartender. Food was outstanding, not your typical buffet. And staff never let things run out. Hot and fresh until everyone was satisfied. “I met a couple of my old coworkers there December 20th after 4 years. I wanted to go to a highly rated family-run place and this establishment didn't disappoint. The burgers, meatloaf and pita wraps were excellent. The owner Vinnie greeted us and seated us, then came by to chat with us. The server was attentive and seemed to like her job. About a 15 - 20 minute walk from the Harrison PATH station. I will be making future visits there with old collegues.“

“Great little bar near the PATH Station in Harrison. Located in the rear side of the Element Hotel on Somerset Street. Very nice atmosphere, friendly crowd and very friendly service. Reasonably priced drinks and if you like there is some seating outside the bar when the weather cooperates. I found it a nice place to stop and have a drink or two. I’d recommend stopping in when you’re in the area. A nice addition to the newly renovated, and ongoing, Harrison Station area.“

“We sat at the bar and enjoyed the wrap around TV screens showing every sport. The service was excellent. Gabe the bartender was friendly and welcoming. I think he could tell it was our first time there. He was on the ball with our drinks and knew when we needed another one before we had to say anything. The food was really good. We had the fried mushrooms and a couple sandwiches which were delicious. We're going back again for sure.“

“Good and quick service. Best empanadas we ever had. Based on those, the philly cheese steaks were a let down. More bread than filling, hardly any cheese. Tap beer was flat as a Guinness, and wasn't supposed to be. Holiday mule was good.“

“Went early on a Sunday when it was raining. While the parking lot isn't the best, the food is.

I got the Kimchi burger and it was a very good size.
They cook it to perfection exactly as you request it.
Fries were good.
Onion rings were actual onion rings. Not that minced onion paste some places do.

“I went to this place in a clutch. Wanted some food and a drink after a late show at NJPAC in Newark after midnight. It is bar food; jalapeño poppers, wings, burger, etc but very good. The bartender was courteous and despite it appeared most patrons were usuals, we were treated well being it was a first time for us there.“

“Frenchy's is such a fun, pleasant dive with bar food and drinks. Often they have music that is played so loud that you can't talk. Parking can be a problem. Small lot and street parking. Oh, and part of the movie The Wrestler with Micky Rourke was filmed there.“

“Decades ago, I ate at this location weekly when it was "Eddie's Long Bar". I visited Pour Abbey's a few times. The inside has been COMPLETELY changed for the better. The food is very good and the service excellent. I am not in the area often but will stop here when possible. Well Done!“

Fairly new pool table with 2 dollar games, a wide assortment of drinks to choose from, a very simple yet delicious food menu, and a very hospitable wait staff. “Tankys is the spot! These people in the comments below complaining about it being unsafe just have nothing better to do. Other bars right down the block plays music just as loud and stays open just as late. Besides the one incident last year, there aren’t any brawls or fights that happen there. Most ppl that go there are regulars and know each other. To the ppl complaint about it being loud in open late, you have the power to move to another place you knew where you were moving to when you moved there tankys has been there my whole lifeThe drinks are strong and cheap, the vibe is chill, older crowd, when they have a DJ the music is good, u can bring food in, and they have a lil pool table and a parking lot. I been going to tankys for year and never had a bad experience. Occasionally the bartenders be too busy to get to me and I’ll get tired of waiting and leave but that’s all rare.“

“Good place for a complete meal at a fair price. Brazilian restaurant located in Newark - NJ, with good structure, good service and pleasant space. The menu is quite diverse and can please different audiences, the portions are large and serve one person very well. Every day of the week there is a meal option at a more affordable price, it's worth checking out.“

“A staple in the North of Newark. Definitely a locals spot with a ever growing clientele. this spot looks small in the front but it has a banquet hall, pool table and bar area. If you go by, say "hi" to Cheito (the owner). Tell him "Nani" sent you ;)“

“Hosted a birthday party for about 28 people including kids. The service staff was attentive and responsive to emails and to my calls when I had questions. Here are pictures. The food that we ordered from the party package #2 was terrific. We brought our sound bar to play music from my own playlist. There is an option to have music provided by the bar/restaurant if you want. I would return to host another party. Much recommended.“

Good music, the food needs help, I had french fries and empanadas and the empanadas lacked flavor and needed salt. I think more food options would help, especially if you don't eat seafood.“
