“It’s establishments like this that set the standard by which all future experiences are measured. The taste, texture and freshness of the pizza, eggplant rollatini and garlic were all to die for (shout-out to the marinara sauce!!), but it’s the atmosphere created by the easy, efficient team, and especially Maryellen and John that will make my memories. Something about their familiarity, warm presence and attentiveness made us feel at home immediately, giving us a glimpse into what it would be like to be part of this neighborhood. It was fun just to watch Maryellen interact with the customers, seeming to know every customer by name. If I were a local I would definitely be a loyal customer.“

“Food is always delicious here, however recently I ordered an old favorite of mine the balsamic chicken dinner and it just tasted off, like the balsamic was different or something went wrong with it. Perhaps the recipe was changed, I'm not sure, or the chef had an off day, but please, please bring back the original recipe. Thanks :)“
“Great Italian food and a decent menu, not much choice but not too much. It's located next to Post Office 34 and is very trendy. The view and service are great, but it's noisy as there isn't much to absorb the sound. We ordered focaccia, roasted peppers and pasta. Everything is great and super fresh.“

It really needs to be at an appropriate dinner volume in that you can have a discussion with that people at your table and not shout. We asked twice for it to be lowered. But I’m unsure it was ever adjusted. Loud club-music volume while dining is just unnecessary.“
“Best NYC slice I've ever had. They don't seat people after a certain point which was a bummer (mostly cuz the girl telling me so wasn't nice about it).BUT - you can eat a slice outside on the benches. They get that thing super toasty in the oven and it was perfect for a quick meal.“
“It is very good but not worth going out of your way to obtain. Worth trying once if possible. We drove from Jersey, paid the toll, and waited 40 minutes for a margherita pie. We ate two slices freshly served, and they had a nice crispy bottom and balance of sauce. It was lacking a bit of salt for me. We ate another microwaved slice at home, and it tasted no different than any other Jersey pizza. Please note it takes at least 40 minutes to prepare from the time of placing a takeout order.“
“When we came we thought that it is going to be like many other good Neapolitan pizzas but it was simply THE BEST. Very nice environment and great service. The pizzas were so good and delicious so do the desserts. The many attempts we did for getting a reservation were completely worth it. Highly recommended!“
“Seriously most amazing staff. Had a last minute big catering request and they absolutely took care of everything for me, even packaged items seperately so nothing spilled and nothing perished. The manager Michelle and the hostess whose name is also Michelle are the KINDEST and most ACCOMMODATING ladies. Also the food is absolutely AMAZING and for the price too! “There's a lot of good pizza in New York, but if you've gotten used to reheated slices to-go, then you owe it to yourself to sit down and enjoy a whole pie, right from the oven. What a difference! John's is the place for perfect, brick-oven, thin-crust NYC pizza. A true landmark, since 1929, and a museum of media and sports, too. Grab a booth and share a meal with Ray Romano, Bruce Springsteen, or Vincent Gambino. You can also leave your own mark on history. The grafitti is epic!“
“We enjoyed our trip to Joe's Pizza. Be prepared to queue around the corner as it is very popular with tourists and locals. Staff were friendly and had fun with my wife asking for a Margherita Pizza (known in the US as a Cheese Pizza). You live and learn.“

“Even though I grew up in LI I never liked NY triangle slices. I always ate Sicilian slices. Detroit style is an ever better version of a square pie with cheesy crusty sides. Insanely good! Ace’s is the only one I have had in NYC and it lived up to the best I have had out of state. It’s also a cool retro atmosphere. Would definitely come here again to try more pies. I had the burrata and it was spicy and delicious!“
“Come for the space, there's a lovely enclosed patio in the back! Stay for the pizza and the drinks, both of which were surprisingly good. Be warned, however, that the menu is a novella. So many options, it's approaching overwhelming. If you like Neapolitan-style pizza, you'll definitely enjoy La Lanterna's. It was the right chewiness, and the toppings and sauce were tasty. I also had one of the many available adult beverages, opting for a hard coffee. It was excellent. The cheese and pate plate was good -- the bread it came with was well seasoned and had a nice crisp. But the presentation definitely leaves something to be desired, it definitely looked like an elementary school science fair project on the plate. Overall, good food, not too pricey, and a nice patio. Solid option!“

Chef Salvatore is passionate about his pizzas and loves to help the people in the class.We had a great experience. The ingredients were great and easy to handle. Don’t need any level of cooking experience to do the class.You get appetizers (salad + meatballs), followed by pizza and marshmallow Nutella dessert pizza.You mainly just roll out your dough and put toppings on. At the end of our visit he even became my hero.The pizzas you get here are authentic and vary in dough and are prepared in a pan.We ordered the Hot Burrata, Vodka Meatball and the Buffalo Pizza. And we can say they were simply divine. Crispy, fluffy, juicy and tasty. This Detroit-style pizza blew us away, even as Neapolitans. I visited with 2 friends on a Saturday night (got there at 5.55pm), we had no reservation, left our name down and we got a seat and 15min later.Pizza was so so good eapecially La Rossa with burrata, Yellow margherita and the special pie of the day with spinach.Cool vibe, they were very busy. No delivery expect for an hour or so right after they open.I will definitely go back and recommend this place.“

Ordered the Shrimp Fra Diavolo and Crispy Octopus.This pizza is the thinner style, the crust is slightly crispy but soft mochi-like inside. It is pretty light and not greasy; it’s stated as spicy on the menu but is not.The crispy octopus is alright, the octopus is on the tough side, so not everyone would like that. However, the vegetable combination and sauce surprised me. The celery and herb are tossed in a light refreshing sauce, with the spiciness and tanginess from pepper dew and crispy potato, overall, a complex flavor profile yet refreshing and savory appetizer.“

The crust was fantastically chewy incl the outer crust but how do you have vodka sauce so thin on a pie that it has almost no effect because overall the combination is too dry?⁉️Why would you make pizza like the El Cubano which is comparable to the sandwich and interestingly great flavor combination but with mostly "cheese" and toppings of ham, pickle and the occasional strip of mustard but on on plain crust/bread & with no sauce or juiciness that you get on a Cuban sandwich so, again, a dry pie?I'm being very generous in my score because one of the three at least felt like there was some sauce & moisture on it.. as well as a great chew all the way out to the edge of the crust was fantastic and tasty dough plus the staff was very attentive but what's going on with the negative moisture factor?⁉️“

“This is by far the best vegan Italian food we’ve ever had. Everything was fresh, healthy and delicious! No refined sugar, excellent gluten free pasta and crust, only healthy oils (no canola or soybean oils), and super fresh ingredients. Love their concept of truly healthy food. Sha, our waiter provided stellar, friendly service. He was able to easily answer all of our allergen/ingredient questions. He was the best! All of the chefs and floor staff were incredible too. “The Best Pizza in NYC! - If you want the best pizza in NYC you have to go to Pop's Pizza. I'm a native New Yorker of 50 years and Pop's Pizza is my favorite pizza in NYC. They make a perfect slice... thin crispy crust with fresh sauce, toppings and ingredients. If you like garlic, you have to try the Margarita but no matter what you order every slice is amazing and the owners are fantastic. ?“

They have espresso martinis on tap but we opted for the wine - all reasonably priced by the glass and super tasty!Between two people we shared the DelRay (their version of a pepperoni) and a white kale pie. The DelRay was a juicy and savoring slice with perfect tomato sauce, and salty greasy saucers of meat. They have chili oil and chili flakes which only help magnify the flavors. The white kale has a base of a nut-free kale pesto with cheese and garlic. This one was a sleeper hit. I usually don’t like white pies but this one blew my expectations.We also had a tres leches cake which was soaked in sweet milk and had a sponge texture. Not my favorite dessert but it could have been that I was so full at this point.I can’t wait to come back and try my pizzas. Might be my favorite sit down spot in NY for pizza ?❤️“

The only thing is the restaurant is tiny tiny so don't think about having a large dinner party, but for a more intimate dinner or lunch, I would highly recommend it! “I had a lunch at Osteria Barocca and the food was delicious In addition to the spicy rigatoni, I also ordered the fried calamari. It was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, exactly how calamari should be. The accompanying dipping sauce added a delightful tanginess to the dish. Overall, my dining experience at Osteria Barocca was delightful. The combination of delicious and fresh pasta with the perfectly cooked fried calamari made for a truly memorable meal. “I gotta say this as a Southerner who was in town to see Long Island’s own Billy Joel at MSG. I made a total bonehead mistake and typed in the wrong amount online for payment (roughly 10x the amount with tip) and these guys were quick to recognize and contact me, assuring me that they had averted the crisis and would have my slices ready for the correct payment when I got there (which was ~ 5 til close). Not only was their service and conscientiousness appreciated, but the slices were just what this bonehead Southerner’ tastebuds were looking for.“

The food is fantastic and the atmosphere is pretty good. However, thinking about the situation more and having read the above review, I will not be back. In a world in which the truth is maligned and that which is sacred openly mocked, the reviewer is absolutely right to express disapproval at what was a blasphemous label. The proprietor really should reconsider carrying a beer that would cause his ancestors to role in their graves could they see it.“
“We walked into Lil' Frankie's, having not been for a few years, and we are SO glad we returned. For many years, it was our go-to for weekend lunches, pizza with our daughter, and late-night dinners with friends.This particular Saturday at 7 pm, the joint was already jumping. There are various rooms at Lil' Frankie's; your experience might differ depending on where you sit. Everyone enters adjacent to the bar, which, if memory serves, is first come, first serve. Adjacent to the bar is the main dining room with seats in the hall and the back; Frank would put tables on the ceiling if he could figure out how. Through an adjacent door is the Pizza oven room with a few large booths and some other tables, and then you enter "the back," which is a long and narrow seating area with an outside patio. Don't worry; it doesn't matter where you sit; you are here for the food.We ordered a bottle of wine ASAP (Gavi, a dry Italian) and the fried calamari. It was exceptional; I might even go so far as to say the Calimari alone is worth the trip. Crisp and crunch with a soft, delicate interior is difficult to achieve with squid. The tomato sauce is tangy with just the right sweetness, and suffice it to say, a huge hit is our table.Not wanting to mess around, we filled the table. Two chicken parmigiana, a spaghetti limone and a pizza prosciutto Di Parma w/ agugala. On the side, we had the Spinach al Forno and some steamed broccoli (which was a little soggy). Otherwise, everything was exceptional, and we loved every bite.Make reservations as soon as possible and make them often. Don't forget because you will be the one who loses out.“
