“I’ve been here a lot if times, it’s a neighborhood staple. The drinks are not only beautiful but they are creative flavors as well. I love coming here to try new ones if the season. The inside is like a dream, so cutely decorated and cozy. The owner is very charming and clearly cares a lot about her business. Kubra is the sweetest barista and always greets you with a smile. They also sell very cute jewelry and accessories“

“Good food and reasonable prices. I often go here during lunch breaks. Easiest spot to get bagels in the neighborhood without walking multiple blocks. The outdoor patio in the back is great during the warmer months, indoor seating is tight.

I tried to eat here earlier in the morning (7:30am) on a weekday and they weren’t open yet, so worth nothing that their early hours may not match what is listed.“

“Needed quick breakfast while at a nearby hotel and found this place based on high reviews. No way could it be real with a perfect 5.0 score, but it was! $7 for a massive breakfast sandwich on a fresh croissant—what else can you ask for? Oh, cash or Venmo only!“

“My friend and I had great moments at Mauricio’s Restaurant (yes, we visited it twice). The food is amazing, and the atmosphere is incredible with a lot of good people. Staff and regular guests made us feel like home! Go for the Grilled Cheese with your favourite topping and just enjoy! Highly recommended 😌“

“It’s simple, laid back, and neighborhood friendly. Just like its name it’s BASIC & honestly I like the average vibes it offers.

The giant windows allow great natural light in, and the space is rustic mixed with a bookstore. It would be great if they would place outdoor tables to invite visitors in. Honestly sometimes I can’t tell whether they are open or not….

Additionally, I do wish they offered variety such as sandwiches and dinner items and catered for longer hours until 7:30 pm. It would be ideal considering there’s a rush in the area past 6 pm. I am very curious to see how they stay afloat now with the new bagel shop down the block.

The female cashier is nice as well as the chef. The owner doesn’t show much expression or emotion, and I respect him for keeping to himself. I just hope you can keep up with the changes in the neighborhood, I’m rooting for you Basic Cafe!

“If you want the best bagels in town, look no further! Everything is top notch — from the bagels to the fresh-squeezed juice (orange, beet, etc.). The bagels are perfect with just the right amount of crunch, and the cream cheese flavors are all amazing and homemade. The staff are friendly and fast, and the whole place just has good vibes. Whether you’re grabbing something quick or hanging out for a bit, this spot always hits the spot. Easily my favorite bagel place in the city!
