We really LOVED the food, it was our first trip to Jersey City and our first time trying American diner food and this place was a great start to the trip. Really liked the corned beef and hash, goes perfectly well with some hotsauce, and washed down with a cup of freshly squeezed orange juice. Will definitely be back if we are in the area!“

“My friend and I had great moments at Mauricio’s Restaurant (yes, we visited it twice). The food is amazing, and the atmosphere is incredible with a lot of good people. Staff and regular guests made us feel like home! Go for the Grilled Cheese with your favourite topping and just enjoy! Highly recommended 😌“

“Everything tasted amazing!!!!! the crab rangoons are so delicious and perfectly flavored, it is a treat every time i order them for an amazing price too!!! the sesame chicken had a great flavor and is not too sweet, the general tso chicken is perfectly spicy and tender. there are no little crumbly pieces as i would usually get at most take out!! the coke cans (diet) were nice and cold, and the veggie low mein noodles were perfectly dry and flavorful and HOMEMADE? (although the lettuce is weird sorry). the dumplings in chili oil taste super authentic and have a greattttt flavor. i loved everything here and i would order 10000 percent again. never change !! (besides the lettuce)

“Parking lot was what we needed, but the food was excellent. Great service and the breakfast was excellent: French toast, pancakes, sandwich with bacon, Taylor ham, and eggs. Easy access to/from the highway.

“I went to the VIP Diner for breakfast and I hadn't been there in years. I was pleasantly surprised by the updated decor and the different dining sections. They even have open mic and karaoke nights from what the staff person told me. It was a really nice upgrade. I had scramble eggs, pork sausage, home fries and a toasted English muffin. Very tasty. The eggs were done and fluffy and my home fries were cooked just as I requested. Crispy on the outside fluffy underneath. The sausage was cooked perfectly, well done but moist on the inside. I didn't see any pastry displays like they use to have. The bathrooms were old school and there is a sign on the door that they only have air dryers no paper towels. It just so happens that I was there on the specials day. Only paid $9.62 for the entire breakfast. Good staff and they kept asking me if I wanted my coffee to be refilled. And I gladly said yes. I'll be going back more often. Parking is ample and free.“

“Mikes has been a staple in the community for almost 40 years i remember bringing my kid to have breakfast on Saturday mornings before her activities it was cheap and cheerful Pratt students and faculty would be there as well. Now its practically same staff bathroom remodeled and costs have increased but so as everuthing else same friendly and fulfilling breakfast no bells and whistles but simple good food“

“Had dinner here and it was very tasty. The establishment interior is a small refined diner. Four booth seats bar top and two stand alone tables. The booth seating was plush and comfortable to fit up to four diners. One waitress and bartender on duty, with a small kitchen. We were sat and waited on fast, but food took sometime as the place filled up fast after. We ordered the steak and the wedge salad and fries. Took roughly 25-30 minutes for the food to come out. The Steak portion was tiny, not diner sized but to be expected for the area. The meat was tender and well seasoned the potatoes were soft and complemented the dish. The wedge salad was cheesy and well seasoned.“

“Traditional old school diner with wonderful staff and very intimate. Prices and food are better than the fancier looking, large dinners in the city. The place is small but customers are wise to eat and allow others to enjoy breakfast and great burgers for lunch. Been a fixture there for years and always loved the pancakes and sausage for breakfast. Maybe I will go tomorrow.“

“This was our 3rd time visiting. We brought friends from FL and we wanted to give them an experience of a wonderful NJ diner. Food wise it was amazing but this time it was VERY loud with music and it was impossible to have a conversation. It ended up being a different experience than the one I planned because of how loud it was. Our server was great and food was delicious, but I am not sure if I would visit again because it was hard to have a conversation with people at the table.“

It's a combination of Greek and Mexican specialties. I have sampled the eggs overeasy with corned beef and this time had three poached eggs with fresh tomato and feta, home fries and coffee. All wonderful. My wife had fried eggs with ham on top of grilled taco. She loved it. This is a top notch diner with excellent service.“

Well prepared but hardly sufficient for a grown man. Partner had the pressed chicken that was dry. If they catered for meat eaters by having a carnivore appetizer and more substantial steak I'd return. Service and ambiance very nice.“
