“I recently tried Marabu Kreyol Restaurant and it was a nice introduction to Caribbean flavors. The food was rich, flavorful, and clearly inspired by traditional Haitian and Creole cooking. I especially liked how hearty and well-seasoned the dishes were — they felt very authentic and comforting. The atmosphere was casual and welcoming, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Overall, it’s a great little spot if you’re in the mood for something different and want to explore Caribbean cuisine.“

“The food at Djondjon is spot on.... This restaurant is a jewel. The food is amazing, and the hospitality is off the chart. There is free jazz often enough. The quality far surpasses the price. I love their pasta, their fish and their goats which come in various varieties. Their appetizers are yummy. I will continue to patronize this place. I had my Cabrit boukannen ( grilled goat) and it really pleased my taste buds.“

“Blake Carmona made a review video on TikTok on this restaurant and despite the fact that it’s 31 degrees and windy I made a near 30 minute journey to Flatbush to try this place.

First, the customer service is great! Not your typical Caribbean restaurant experience. They speak both English and Haitian Creole, so ordering is fast and easy.

The food is COVERED! This makes a huge difference in the quality of the food. It was fresh, flavorful and the portion sizes are large! Nothing was dry, greasy or tasted ‘old’. A rarity!!

Their size small container is the same container as a Chipotle bowl for $10.99. Unheard of for a Caribbean restaurant. The value is unreal.

If you’re in the area and you’re looking for Haitian food, I highly recommend!! I will 100% be back. I hope they pop out on Grubhub!“

“We stop by around 7:30 pm we were greeted with kidness the food choices was endless we order to small plate we received so much food service was excellent first time trying the food there it was delicious will definitely be back I definitely recommend this place excuse the photo we already ate most of it in the car before we got home 😂“

“I am sure their food, style, pricing approach will provoke debates but I just tried to enjoy every moment. To me, presentation and feeling special plays a part to the whole experience. The food was not bad but i was not going to break down every components on the plates. I have to give credit to the chef to be so creative in how he uses the ingredients. “Honestly, it makes me so happy that a place like this still exists in downtown Montclair. I picked up two pizzas today - a pepperoni and a cheese for $25. The woman there was incredibly sweet and gave me a free container of cut watermelon as well. I really like their pizza and have always sung their praises - it’s slightly spicy. Traditional? Not exactly but I’m Italian and I think it’s delicious for a good price so that’s what matters. Hope they’re around for a long time — they’ve always been there for me in a later night pinch“

“I passed this place while in the area and was super intrigued to try a Haitian bakery. I stopped in and ordered a few patties (fish and herring), and was very pleasantly surprised at the non-inflated prices. The patties themselves were SO good and filled me up a lot more than I expected.

I will be back and highly recommend!!“
