“Really delicious food! I came here to try the Polo Better known as Plov or بخاري as they call it in the Middle East.
Ended up trying the Noodles, Manta (better known as Mantu) Lamb Skewers. The manta was the best I ever had in the states! Everything was really delicious!
Since they didn’t have what I came for the chef came out with red tea, which is also really good. This is my go to restaurant whenever I am in the FIDI. I cannot recommend enough! This is one of my all time favorite restaurants in NYC.“

“GERMAN DONER KEBAB - AN ENLIGHTENMENT If you're from Berlin, it feels like there's a kebab store on every other corner. So I can recognize and judge a kebab when I see it. Even just leaving Berlin and Brandenburg, the kebab experience changes within Germany. The further you get away from Berlin, the worse the kebabs get. Some time ago in New York, I discovered one or two places trying to make a kebab. Unfortunately, I have not yet been able to find a proper kebab in New York, despite the name kebab. What was being sold was called a kebab, but had very little to do with a kebab and tasted even less like a kebab. All the more enlightenment then... the recommendation of a friend living in Brooklyn. "German Doner Kebab" in Brooklyn. And then the first kebab there since 2018 here in New York. I can't even describe how happy I was. It looked like a kebab, it tasted like a kebab and came pretty close to a kebab from Berlin. Really well made. Incl. tax 12.51 dollars is a bit steep, but still good value for New York. The portion was good and filling. Everything is really fresh and well seasoned. The bread was just as it should be, thin and crispy. This was pretty much the best kebab I've had in a very, very long time (with the exception of one visit to Berlin). I will definitely go back there again. Bisher konnte ich leider in New York trotz Bezeichnung Döner keinen ordentlichen Döner entdecken. Das was da verkauft wurde, heißt zwar Döner, hatte mit Döner aber recht wenig zu tun und schmeckte noch viel weniger nach einem Döner. Um so mehr dann die Erleuchtung... die Empfehlung eines Freundes in Brooklyn lebend. "German Doner Kebab" in Brooklyn. -------------------------------------------------“

“Hands down the best Persian restaurant in NYC. Forget Sofreh, you want real Persian food? Come to noosh. It’s a mom and pop shop with an amazing outdoor space, specialty cocktails and best part? Normal prices. Their Fasanjoon is out of this world. Literally the best I’ve had. Their sabzi is incredible, the Shiraz salad is as good as it gets with the freshest veggies and the koobideh kebab is amazing. What are you doing with your life if you haven’t been here?“

“Soooo happy my husband and I find this gem of a restaurant! Best Iranian food ever! I don't eat red meat or pork, so I stick to chicken and let me tell you I could eat the chicken kebab and saffron rice every single day of my life I swear!😋 The bread is Persian bread, I can't think of the name, but omg delish! We eat inside atleast twice a week, the restaurant is always clean and spotless, and Ellie is our usual server: she's truly the greatest! Friendly, Efficient and just the sweetest young woman to talk to. All of the young ladies that work there are super sweet. With the world being so crazy and backwards right now, It's really nice to know we have a quiet little spot we can go to enjoy a great meal in such authentic atmosphere!“

“Dunya Kabab House is a standout spot for anyone who loves rich, authentic flavors and generous portions. The food is consistently fresh and well-prepared — the kebab meat is tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned, while the sides like rice, salads, and sauces tie everything together beautifully. Whether you order a wrap, a platter, or a full grilled meal, you can count on bold flavors and satisfying portions every time.
The staff is welcoming, polite, and efficient, always making sure customers are taken care of. Even during busy hours, orders come out quickly and the service remains friendly and attentive. The restaurant is clean and comfortable, adding to the overall pleasant dining experience.

My friend ordered tuna with vegetables and it was fresh and cooked to perfection, while my other friend had the salmon steak which was rich, juicy, and beautifully presented. Service was attentive and warm, enhancing the whole dining experience.

“I recently dined at this restaurant, and I have to say, it exceeded all my expectations! The shashlik is simply the best – perfectly seasoned and grilled to perfection, with a mouth-watering smoky flavor. The salads are fresh and full of vibrant ingredients, and the soups are warm and comforting, truly homemade quality. Don't miss the samosas either – crispy on the outside and packed with delicious fillings. Beyond the food, the ambiance is wonderful, making it a perfect place to relax and enjoy a great meal. “I ordered takeout from Grubhub earlier today.
The Chicken Shwarma was fantastic.
By far my favorite plate that I've eaten this year.
All items on the plate were full of flavor, texture and I absolutely cannot wait to order again.
ALSO: The picture used for this item on Grubhub does not do the plate justice.“

“Very good food, vibe, and staff. My friend and I shared some amazing lamb kebab and beitenjan. The eggplant in the beitenjan was a bit softer than I prefer, and the dish was very sweet. Even still, it was delicious! The lamb was amazing, too. The limonana was perfect. We dined on the deck upstairs under some charming string lights which created a very cute and intimate atmosphere. The staff was so friendly, too! I look forward to coming back to try more dishes.“

“Toros Turkish Cuisine, formerly known as The Kebab House, is one of Upper Montclair’s true dining gems. The food is consistently delicious, with standout dishes like the tender lamb shish kebab and perfectly prepared grilled shrimp. The mezza (appetizers) are outstanding—rich baba ghanoush, creamy labneh, and an array of flavorful hummus varieties, all paired with warm, freshly baked Turkish bread that is simply irresistible.
The service is just as memorable: warm, friendly, and knowledgeable, especially helpful to anyone new to Turkish cuisine. The setting adds to the charm—inside, the dining grotto creates an inviting ambiance, while the back arbor surrounded by plants offers a beautiful, almost secret-garden feel.
Desserts are not to be missed, from the comforting Turkish rice pudding to flaky baklava and more. Toros is one of my favorite go-to places in Montclair—a restaurant that blends incredible flavors with a welcoming atmosphere.“

“Extremely cozy little place. Food is fantastic, but I have to give a special shoutout to the owner, who will immediately make you feel like an old friend welcoming you to his home. It’s hard not to leave with a smile on your face, but that aside, everything is delicious. The Kabuli Palow is a big highlight.“
