EVERY day I wake up thinking "today is the day that I eat the food that I made purposefully for lunch" and then I look at the specials of the day at Big Mouth and the thought of doing such a thing disappears more quickly than it appeared, a distant memory, a sheer figment of my imagination. Fig and brie griller? Amalfi Coast wrap? LOBSTER RAVIOLI?!?! “I had the pork cutlet today and it was just amazing. The cutlet is breaded and surrounded by a downright tasty combination of seasoning and fried to golden brown perfection in such a fashion that your taste buds will be forever mystified, just as mine have been for about a year or so now since I discovered this gem while traveling down US-46 on essential business. Everything I have had from here is so delicious. Go there as soon as you can because it’s really really good.“

I know these folks here are known for their “best of NJ” Taylor Ham ;not pork roll ( almost forgot where I was) and cheese. “The wife and I had a busy day and we were hungry. Fast food seemed to be the choice until we passed by this place by chance on Stevens Avenue. We stopped in, looked at the choices and decided to give them a try with their special and an eggplant Parm that looked real good. When we sat down at home to a glass of wine and this food, we were floored. Real food, absolutely delicious and healthy. And the price was an incredible value for what we got. We will be regularly returning. It's obvious the nice people there genuinely care about their craft. What a find!!!!So here is an update. My wife and I tried this place again. This time we brought a nice bottle of Chianti and sat down in a very, very simple decor. Forget the decor. We split the appetizer, crescentina (Bolognese) with arugula, burrata mozzarella (he made it) and San Danielle prosciutto. They are starting to make pizza so we decided to split a Margerita. WOW! We walked out not bloated, satisfied and pining to come back next week. We spent about $35 ( not including tip). Again. An value unheard of in the city. As a newbee from the city to Little Falls, I can not believe the quality of the food these two put out. It is on par with the city and way, way, way better priced. This is a place to go to every other week, if not more. “My wife and I were looking to get our reception party catered. After the first attempt at one deli, we decided to look elsewhere and stumbled upon Summit and Main. We are so glad we did. From the day of ordering to pick up everything went smooth. My wife and mother in law were sat down and went over menu, and all of our questions were answered. They suggested their best sellers and how much of everything to order. Everything was a hit and everyone loved the food. We can not recommend Summit and Main enough. The roast beef sliders are out of this world. If you're looking to cater a party wedding birthday etc, look no further.“

“A walk into Otto's is a walk back into the past when neighborhoods had small businesses and everyone knew one another. But one thing didn't change. The high quality and authentic homemade German salads, delicious sandwiches, German specialties and frozen treats (for the Bogue Pond playground visitors) are tallied up the old fashioned way by Helmut, the owner, with a pencil on your bag. There's even an old hand-cranked cash register to make your change. I've been a customer over 30 years, and highly recommend. We need more places like Otto's Deli.“
“I got a take-out lunch after a hike in the area. The fish sandwich with tartar sauce was very good (and very obviously made in-house with care), and their cucumber salad was the perfect side dish. I had fun browsing the shelves of products while I waited, and even picked up some German-made Nivea cream (the best!). Danke!“
“If you love quirky places with good food at cheap prices you'll fall in love with the Road House Deli on Myrtle Avenue in Boonton! Talk about a hole in the wall place! There is wonderful Polish food made fresh, just like in Mama's kitchen if she was a good and interested cook. There's a table full of individually wrapped Polish pastries and they sell coffee, tea and food to go. Along the side wall are four tiny vintage booths so you can eat here in comfort. Today was my first time and the potato pancakes were large and tasty, the pirogies were excellent and the owner put extra onions on top just like in Poland. We also had the meatballs with rice stuffing and gravy and real Kielbasa. Warren, a frequent lunch customer (Several times a week) was so enthusiastic. He eats one lunch in the Road House Deli and takes home a second for his dinner. Warren said to try the creamy horseradish dressing on the potato pancakes. He also says he comes every Tueaday for the special spinach casserole which says is excellent. I'm recommending the Road House Deli for good home style cooking, low prices and talk about local color. There is a must be at least 60 year old phonograph and hundreds of LP albums. You choose what you want to hear, put the record on the phonograph and get the music you want without having to pay a jukebox fee. Now how cool is that?“

“Dinner report from Nov 25th. After turkey on Thanksgiving, we needed an Italian meal for our family of four and Vitale's delivered. Serving dinner on the weekend, the deli is transformed into a trattoria courtesy of black linen tablecloths and black screens which hide the refrigerated deli cases from view. The "Spiedini" is a must order from the list of starters. The specials are super - we quite enjoyed chicken and veal dishes - but the fish and shellfish are where the restaurant shines. On this night the lobster ravioli were served with the both shrimp and scallops. The service is both friendly and efficient. Water glasses are kept filled and BYO wine is opened promptly. We will return to this gem of a restaurant!“
