The food is always made super quick, and when received it's hot and fresh. It's not often restaurant chains maintain quality over the years, but this location is always on point. “Went to Slice House last night for the first time. Thought they were related to Scianos our favorite place and found out it was the Sons who opened it. Well we kind of felt like traitors but owed it a try. Well from the outside doesn’t look like much but as soon as you open the door you are greeted warmly by a blond young lady behind the counter, an open air bright clean restaurant. Its not big but roomy enough with low and high top tables. One of the sons was behind the counter and he very friendly took my order. They had advertised a mussels and pizza special for about $28. Their ad showed a picture of the best looking mussels I had ever seen. I asked him if they really looked that good so I ordered that and a very thin crust pizza which he graciously said he could accommodate. We sat at a table and waited. We were never neglected and checked on often for our needs. They brought the mussels first like we asked and they were better looking than the picture BUT the taste BEST I ever had! Plump and tasty, sauce suburb light with cherry tomatoes and sweet garlic. The even asked if we wanted more bread! After we sopped up every bit the pie came out. PERFECT in every way. They have such great selections plus desserts. Our next visit we will try the wings. We will still go to Scianos for their great meals but Slice House is are now our go to Pizza and Mussels place. Bravo to Slice House and the Staff for an enjoyable experience.“

“My sister and brother-in-law were visiting NJ and staying in Tom’s River. I suggested we meet at Sugo for lunch. We were greeted warmly when we entered and were seated immediately. Service was professional and attentive. We ordered two falafel platters, a quinoa salad and a bowl of ziti for the table. The food was delicious and we all finished our meals. Interestingly, the falafel platter didn’t come with pita. This isn’t a complaint, just an observation. Since the portion was so big, I didn’t miss the pita. The restaurant is tastefully decorated and comfortable. The owner of Sugo’s also owns Giddy’s in Highland Park. The food there is equally as good.“

Now, let's talk about the main event—the pizza. This pie has got some serious weight to it. It's like they took all the best parts of a Brooklyn pie and pumped it up on Jersey steroids. The crust? You can tell these guys aren't skimping on the ingredients.

I requested the pizza not "well done" because that's now we like it. They delivered an amazing pie. We also ordered a fettuccine alfredo dinner to share. It was really good and a good portion. It came with bread and the bread was heated and wrapped in foil which was lovely. Apparently the owner Vinnie was the original owner of Cafe' Napoli in Shoprite Plaza in Manchester & La Gondola in Lakehurst making pies for over 20 years! In fusing years of experience "That's Amore'' is his best version of a Pizza Trattoria Italiana. Every time, you come in the owner Vinnie is so welcoming and such a nice guy! Always asking you how you are? Or how's the family? Did I mention Vennie is straight Italy? You can always here Italian spoken here. My Phil brother worked as a delivery driver a few years ago during college and said its like a family when working there. Your always welcomed back. All the staff is super nice never had a problem in the going there for more then a 2 and a half years now. Not an overly expensive place and not cheap food at all. Great to book for the holidays like Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, New Years, or a personal occasion you wont be disappointed. It was crispy and light, not at all greasy, and came with a large container of freshly made marinara sauce on the side. On a whim, I also ordered a Linguini with White Clam Sauce which I planned on saving for tonight's dinner. Didn't happen. When I opened the container, saw and smelled the pasta, I had to try it. I wound up eating a third of it immediately. The sauce was chock full of small little necks and chopped garlic and had a substantial and thoroughly enjoyable flavor which complemented the linguini rather than overpowering it. And this all came with a full, small loaf of Italian bread! What more could I ask for? Plus they use eco friendly aluminum and paper take out containers. I'll be back to try other items on their menu.“

I enjoyed the hour-long drive to get some delicious pizza.
And I bought four pizzas, and the pizzas came out very different than before.

I also added cheese and paid $10 more to add it. Because I came from far away, I wanted to eat more delicious pizza.
