New American Restaurants near Lambertville, NJ

“This was second time having dinner here in ten years! I can't remember what I had in 2015, but on Friday I had the Bronzino and my husband had the Filet Mignon. We also shared the gnocchi as an appetizer. The food was made to perfection. I don't know how the chef does it. My Bronzino was very buttery peeling away from the skin and the peppers that accompanied were seasoned so well. I wish we could have date night here every month but the gnocchi appetizer portion was too small for the price and we were charged $8 for one bottle of sparkling water. Also would be nice if there were more entrees to choose from. This particular evening had only 1-2 non seafood options. We had a reservation and still had to wait 20-30 minutes for our table as well.“

“No restaurant is perfect all the time, but Caleb’s always does their best to make it right. Delicious Challah crème brûlée French Toast with strawberries, and excellent bacon! And a really good cup of light brew coffee, too. Super friendly staff and management is the consistent bonus!“

“Had dinner there this evening with my husband. The setting is lovely. We sat in the dining room. (We’ve dined in the bar area before, and it was very comfortable as well.). Service is attentive but not imposing. My husband enjoyed his salmon. My swordfish was cooked perfectly! We thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience!“

“Went there with the family (10 people), the food was good, service was correct (the waitress was nice and got pretty much everything right), could have checked up on us more often (probably short-staffed). Nothing special about the atmosphere.

“We were 7 people and the waitress wouldn’t divide the bill. We have to calculate our orders and the taxes. Then write down our card info with the amount we each owe. I am sure she could have done it but she said it’s the restaurant policy!!“

Top that with the upper management being supportive and reactive if you need to speak with them and you want to share that with anyone who wants to listen. The leadership addressed an issue with the kind of response that I have not seen in many years. It was refreshing, to say the least. You won't go wrong. From the front desk to the beautiful rooms, the amazing attentive wait staff to the quaint and welcoming bar...do yourself a favor and escape to the Golden Pheasant. Linger and enjoy. Marie F“

“Very nice anniversary evening at the inn. We had not been there in many years. There have been a few different owners in the recent past but it still feels familiar. Different but familiar which I think is great. My friend is running the place now and seems to have put together a great team and some very nice dishes. Just last week we were texting about the inn and the menu and I mentioned the famous tomato bisque that the inn used to serve. Well not even 10 days later it’s back in the menu, which I think will be a welcome surprise to the local crowd. We are looking forward to returning.“
