I got the original chicken with rice platters and one chicken mix gyro wrap. Excellent and momma is really hard to please. We’re transplants from NYC and with NYC being at the top of the dining out / take home capital it is tough for many States and counties to compete with the flavor and cooking styles easily found in NYC just around every corner.

OMGRYRO easily hits all the marks with the exception of the Jerk Chicken. Jerk Chicken flavor profile is no bueno in my humble opinion and that is because it doesn’t come close to tasting like jerk seasoning and can’t compare to true jerk style flavor.

Everything else is we ordered and devoured tasted great, high on flavor with decent portion sizes.

Hope they put the Jerk Season flavor to the chicken NYC style.“

“I’m visiting NJ (lived here for a long time) and wanted to eat some of my favorite foods. I ordered dinner from port of peri peri and it was perfectly cooked but missing my fries. I let that be known to the restaurant and received a small refund. Next night, I ordered dinner again and I received a large order of fries on the house as well as a discount card for 5% for dine in orders valid for one more week. Amazing customer service. If I were in NJ longer, I would surely order again! The food is absolutely delicious 😋“

Although it’s a small location and there is not much seating, the owners are such welcoming and kind people and the food was absolutely amazing.

“The kufta kebab platter was SO GOOD. The meat was so tender and packed with flavor. Service was attentive and efficient. If you want the kufta though it’s recommended that you call for pick up before you go because it takes about 15 min to prepare. Highly recommend if you’re craving halal food!!“

“One of the best halal restaurants in Elmwood Park! Baba Tikka has amazing food every time I visit. The butter chicken is creamy and full of flavor, and the chicken tikka masala is just as good with the perfect spice level. The garlic naan is always fresh, soft, and pairs perfectly with the curries. This is definitely one of my go-to spots when I’m craving halal food near me. “The food tastes delicious. I think if the place is called Gyro it is reasonable that they cut the meat from the gyro in front of you. However that is not the case the gyro meat is in a container just like in a cart in the city. And to be 100% honest, considering that I paid over $15 for a platter with a Coke and it is served in a plastic Tupperware with plastic fork, at the very least the portions should be bigger. It is not the case, not a lot of rice, not a lot of meat, not a lot of salad. I think I would go more often otherwise.
However the taste is there and it tastes pretty good.“

“I had such an amazing experience at Peri Peri! The food was honestly so flavorful and fresh, everything was cooked perfectly and you can really taste the quality. “We were in the area to see Cherry Blossom Festival in the local park. We originally planned to eat at our favorite restaurant Istanbul in Clifton NJ. We got hungry and looked for close by Turkish restaurants, found this place. Absolutely loved the ambiance, food and the service. We are hooked for life. Try the Calamari for appetizer, lamb shish kababs for main entry. Food was authentic and cooked to perfection. We will be back.“

“This place is a gem!! a must eat!! We found it through Uber Eats and ordered 1x. It was so good. The portions were amazing. Portions are like something grandma would serve her hungry kids. We visited and now I frequent it almost daily! Homefries platter is not for the faint of heart. You've got to have a hearty appetite or share it out. Grits platter...well...something of a southern treasure! Beef bacon egg and cheese sandwich is always a perfect on the run, goodie! We tried the shrimp over rice and that was nice. Chicken over rice was even better as it had a slight kick to it. And again, no matter what you order, bring a healthy appetite cause you're gonna need it and a long nap, after! These guys are amazing!! Truly! They're sweet! They're efficient! They can throw down on that gril!! Yummmmm Oh...and if you've never had it, their lemon ginger drink is amazeballs!!
