I let that be known to the restaurant and received a small refund. “I ate here nearly every week while I was in college but have since moved to New Jersey. I still crave it now and then because there is nothing like this halal truck. I miss being a five minute walk away but this alone is totally worth a visit to the UWS. (I saved this picture in it’s own album called “Best Halal of My Life”, fyi).“

I’m not kidding. the cart, Halal Harlem, was established in 2002. the guy working it was a little slow but that’s bc his experienced hands will make your lamb gyro on pita with so much care. be patient and you’ll get the best halal you ever tasted. he didn’t skimp on the meat or veggies. there was onions, tomatoes, and lettuce!! some places give you lettuce and call it a day. “I used to live in nyc. Since moving to jersey years ago, i have been looking for a place that does Falafel and gyro platters the new york way. This spot is exactly that and no other spot compares! Ive tried so many disappointing falafels in jersey. This one was perfect! Exactly the same as my fav cart in NYC. I used to have to go to nyc when i craved this so im so happy i no longer have to make that journey. Manhattan Halal Gyro has to be one of the most underrated restaurants in northern jersey. The team was friendly and lovely. The prices were insanely good! The quality was perfect. Good vegetables and loved the grilled onions on the platter. The sauces were exactly what they were supposed to be and the falafel was so perfect - soft but crunchy - exactly what i love in a good falafel.

This also tastes the same as the falafel i get when i visit family in the middle east.
