It just tasted so good even though I ate it cold straight from the fridge. 😊 It didn't taste as good when I had ordered it on site. “First and foremost. Do not order from Uber eats. I saved about 10$ against Uber pickup order, and about $20 from delivery not including tip. The saved money went to spending more here. You pay more for each item on Uber eats.

The food was fresh greatly seasoned (could use more season on the jerk chicken gyro) and the falafel was fried near perfect.

The service was great. Called in the order took my time getting there in about 10 minutes and was ready immediately. I wasn’t expecting it to be but I was happy.

The strawberry twist to the banana pudding was a great hit. Just wished for a little more strawberries. I wished I took photos because all of the food was visually pleasing. The food was so good I ate a container of Jerk chicken over rice with extra meat by myself. Within 45 minutes. I usually can’t eat like that in one sitting.

Also wished for more white sauce dipping cups for the amount of falafel that was bought.

Otherwise it’s a great gem. I hate to say it but I live next to a few restaurants and did not want to try it because of the feedback. As much as I am used to a $10 plate, here was money well spent. Cost about $50 2 drinks, jerk chicken Gyro, 10pc falafel, jerk chicken over rice platter with extra chicken, and a banana pudding.“

I let that be known to the restaurant and received a small refund. Next night, I ordered dinner again and I received a large order of fries on the house as well as a discount card for 5% for dine in orders valid for one more week. Amazing customer service. If I were in NJ longer, I would surely order again! The food is absolutely delicious 😋“

The food that they served was nice and hot. Usually places like this serve room temp food or sometimes even cold, but this place actually serves hot food which was great. “The food was easily the best Arab food I’ve had. Ever. The owners were super nice and actually invited us to sit instead of take out, and we got complimentary toum (also best toum I’ve ever had), peppers, pickles, and some sort of Arab bread. The bread was nice and crackly and there was a LOT of it. The toum, unlike other Arab places with toum, was actually light and had that whipped texture that is desired. The garlic flavor was on point and not too overpowering. The star of the show was easily the crispy chicken shawarma, though. It looks small in some videos, but it was wider than my mouth. I had to do some talking to find out myself, but to get the fries, toum, and pickles next to the shawarma, you need to ask for the crispy chicken shawarma combo. It was super crispy, and the breading was very nicely toasted. I kept finding myself layering the top with some pickles, fries, and more toum. They also drizzled some pomegranate molasses on the chicken shawarma, which gave it a tangy but also fruity aftertaste. We also ordered the charcoal chicken and kebab. The kebab, instead of normal beef on a stick, actually came with some yellow rice and some REALLY GOOD spicy seasoned bread that was very soft and moist on some parts and crispy on the others. You could literally see the spice particles on it. The charcoal chicken was juicy, tender, and had that charcoal roasted flavoring. It even came with a bunch of complimentary fries. The fries on both the shawarma and the charcoal chicken was nicely battered, and the shawarma fries were very well seasoned. The only thing is that the bathroom is through a door that leads upstairs, and you have to open two doors. If you’re someone like me and don’t like the feeling of putting grip on things with sticky stuff on your hands, you won’t like that. It’s one of those turn knobs. Finally, the music made me feel like I was actually back in Abu Dhabi watching fire shows while eating falafel. Please visit, they are amazing people who make amazing food!“

“One of the best halal restaurants in Elmwood Park! Baba Tikka has amazing food every time I visit. The butter chicken is creamy and full of flavor, and the chicken tikka masala is just as good with the perfect spice level. The garlic naan is always fresh, soft, and pairs perfectly with the curries. This is definitely one of my go-to spots when I’m craving halal food near me. Great place for authentic Pakistani and Indian food.“

“GERMAN DONER KEBAB - AN ENLIGHTENMENT If you're from Berlin, it feels like there's a kebab store on every other corner. So I can recognize and judge a kebab when I see it. Even just leaving Berlin and Brandenburg, the kebab experience changes within Germany. The further you get away from Berlin, the worse the kebabs get. Some time ago in New York, I discovered one or two places trying to make a kebab. Unfortunately, I have not yet been able to find a proper kebab in New York, despite the name kebab. What was being sold was called a kebab, but had very little to do with a kebab and tasted even less like a kebab. All the more enlightenment then... the recommendation of a friend living in Brooklyn. "German Doner Kebab" in Brooklyn. And then the first kebab there since 2018 here in New York. I can't even describe how happy I was. It looked like a kebab, it tasted like a kebab and came pretty close to a kebab from Berlin. Really well made. Incl. tax 12.51 dollars is a bit steep, but still good value for New York. The portion was good and filling. Everything is really fresh and well seasoned. The bread was just as it should be, thin and crispy. This was pretty much the best kebab I've had in a very, very long time (with the exception of one visit to Berlin). I will definitely go back there again. GERMAN DONER KEBAB - EINE ERLEUCHTUNG Wenn man aus Berlin kommt, hat man gefühlt an jeder zweiten Ecke einen Dönerladen. Ich kann also einen Döner erkennen und beurteilen, wenn ich ihn sehe. Allein schon Berlin und Brandenburg verlassend wird das mit dem Döner innerhalb von Deutschland anders. Je weiter man sich von Berlin entfernt, desto schlechter werden die Döner. In New York entdeckte ich schon vor einiger Zeit den einen oder anderen Anbieter mit dem Versuch, einen Döner zu machen. Bisher konnte ich leider in New York trotz Bezeichnung Döner keinen ordentlichen Döner entdecken. Das was da verkauft wurde, heißt zwar Döner, hatte mit Döner aber recht wenig zu tun und schmeckte noch viel weniger nach einem Döner. Um so mehr dann die Erleuchtung... die Empfehlung eines Freundes in Brooklyn lebend. "German Doner Kebab" in Brooklyn. Und dort dann der erste Döner seit 2018 hier in New York. Ich kann gar nicht beschreiben, wie sehr ich mich gefreut hatte. Es sah aus wie ein Döner, es schmeckte wie ein Döner und kam schon recht nah an einen Döner aus Berlin heran. Richtig gut gemacht. Incl. Tax 12,51 Dollar ist zwar sportlich, aber für New York wiederum preiswert. Die Portion ordentlich und sättigend. Wirklich alles frisch und gut gewürzt. Das Brot genau so wie es sein muss, dünn und knusprig. Also das war seit sehr sehr langer Zeit so ziemlich der beste Döner (mit Ausnahme einem Besuch in Berlin), den ich seit langer Zeit gegessen habe. “Humble seems to be the best word to summarize this restaurant. The men who run it seem to have a great rapport with their customers; they’ve been there for 20+ years and it shows. They were kind and accomodating. The food was plated carefully and was pretty taste. My only complaints were putting margarine on my pancakes without asking and the tiny plastic utensils, which left my hands covered in syrup. However both of those go to the restaurant being unpretentious. There’s no atmoshere to speak of but it was clean. I’d eat here again but probably wouldn’t go out of my way.“
