“We love Jimmy Tomato's. My husband and I are vegan and they will make all the Indian vegetarian pies vegan. The veggies are exceptionally good crisp and perfect. “My favorite place in town to order pizza from, and get delivery at least once a week. The young staff who takes the orders and usually does the deliveries are very polite and respectful. “OH MY GAWD!!!!! I don't know if there is enough room on this review form to talk about how F'ING AMAZING this place is!!!! Let’s talk about it! Four friends decided to take an hour roadtrip to give this place a try. DID NOT DISAPPOINT AT ALL!!!! Cute place, with its white brick facade, and garage door to open the dining room to the outside. It is a little noisy because of the street (e.g., fire trucks passed by), but wasn’t terrible. The restaurant is a BYO, so we had brought some wine with us. We had heard amazing things about the bread, like garlic knots and Ukrainian Garlic Bread, but unfortunately they were already sold out for the day (because it’s made fresh everyday!!!). We decided to start with the Pear Walnut Gorgonzola salad with a balsamic vinaigrette. Fresh, light, dressing had great flavor, perfect intro! Next we had the Meatball/Ricotta round pizza and the White (whole) Tomato Garlic square pizza. SOOOOOO GOOD!!! Crust is impeccable!! And the flavor and thickness of the crust was varied, which was a really nice surprise!! Plenty of toppings, the flavors are outstanding, the slices were heavy, but you didn’t feel heavy after you ate it. They were made really well, probably one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. But the desserts, geez the desserts!! OK, let's get into THIS. The dessert case has so much to offer!!! I don’t even know if I should call it a dessert case because there was so much more than just dessert. There were so many wonderful things to try, but I was pleasantly full from the pizza and wine, I landed on the pistachio bambolone, which is kinda like a filled donut with pistachio crème. HOLY FRICKEN MOLY!!!! DEVOURED in seconds!!!! But don’t misunderstand, this isn’t just a donut. It’s like, THE BEST donut!! It’s moist, filled to the brim with crème, airy, light, and it just makes you happy!! After that, I wanted to start trying everything, but there was absolutely no more room in my belly. I ended up with a very large to-go box with a lot of the other stuff that I cannot wait to sample tomorrow (aka eat in one or two sittings)!!!! I grabbed a couple of their croissants (plain, Nutella stuffed, chocolate filled, and vanilla almond), some of the other bambolone flavors that were available (strawberry, lemon, and vanilla bean), some cinnamon buns that looked unique and amazing, and a very large chocolate chip cookie! If you have any questions or doubts of how great this place is, DO NOT DELAY, go there now and see for yourself!!!!!“

“I called to ask for reservation for 10 people after a concert, giving them only 1/2 hour notice. They set up a beautiful table for us. We ordered 3 pies that were very good along with a great large specialty salad. We finished with cannoli and fresh perfectly cooked zeppoli. They even let us use a coupon right in their menu. We were served quickly, but were not rushed in the least.

“Nice local pizza shop! We went here for the first time and enjoyed the food. The food was hot and fresh and delicious, and it met expectations.

The only recommendation is that it would be nice if they had the soda machine rather than the bottles of soda / water. But other than that, everything was great. And prices were very reasonable.

Rumors have it in the pizza world, is you ever wanna try a places best pizza always order a personal pie, that will tell you how they really are. So I ordered a personal Mushroom, Plain and a specialty one. Let me tell you this, IF you like a good crunch pizza..... On every bite.... Good flavor that stands tall..... This is the place to go.... ABSOLUTELY, so far, one of the best around.... This hole in a wall will surprise the s#$& out of you. Next time I will go for a full size pie and tell you how that goes....It will be interesting... I have been in places where I love there personal size and didn't like there full size....and let me add..... It was so good that I ate the personal Mushroom before I got home and I love down the road in Morristown... That's how good this wasI AM TELLING YOU if you like a crunch to your pizza, and you eat the whole slice.... This places personal pie is just for you....The two guys behind the counter was extremely nice... One had to be the owner, a bigger guy great personality and knew his stuff.... And the counter guy was just as nice and eager to help....So I have no dog in this fight.... Did I get lucky, maybe maybe not.... “Carmine's is our go to place whenever we crave Italian or a cheesesteak. Husband and I were there yesterday for late lunch. Excellent pasta fagioli soup, huge slices of pizza, and overstuffed, cheesesteak. Great service and reasonable prices. We were informed there is an extra charge if you're not paying cash. This is becoming a common practice and we were informed of it. Server was excellent and made us feel welcome. I was asked if I knew of any pizza parlors served gluten free and of course I recommended Carmine's.“

The thin crust was crisp but not burnt, the sauce was exceptional and it had the right amount of cheese. The onions and sausage on my half were excellent. “Definitely a hidden gem. Came in on a whim because I saw good reviews and was on the hunt for a good slice to go. There were several pizza options in the display and ready to order which I love about a pizza spot. I ordered a Sicilian sausage/red pepper, pepperoni hot honey and a white slice. I would have stayed to eat at one of the few small tables but the baby was in the car. The pizza looked so amazing I ate some right in the parking lot it did not disappoint. The crust on the Sicilians was perfect and flavor was delicious. White pie was also simple and perfect. Can’t wait to try the cheese!

It was great to meet and interact directly with the owner, Paul. He explained how he bought the business from his parents and has been in his family for decades with roots in Brooklyn and Italy. He even threw in a free cheese slice because he knew I was a new customer! Nice guy and love to see the passion for a small family business. In my short time there, Monday afternoon, several people came in to order to sit and for takeout which said to me they have a good customer base which is a good sign.

Moving to Roxbury from Bergen County a few years ago we still haven’t quite settled on our favorite pizza spot yet. I’d say this is in the running for our favorites and we will be back!!

Not a big fan of the grease, but the sauce is great. You'll receive large portions for affordable costs (better than others around). The service is friendly and efficient. This is a hopping place, especially Friday & Saturday nights. I recommend ordering ahead before you're hungry for when you are hungry, or waiting until after the dinner-time rush.“
