“A Hidden Gem in Wharton That Keeps Getting Better!

This evening we had a truly wonderful dinner at Reno’s Pizzeria and Restaurant in Wharton, NJ. From start to finish, everything about our visit was top-notch. Our server, Shirley, was incredibly attentive—friendly, prompt, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed. What really stood out, though, was that Reno himself came by to check in and ensure we were enjoying our evening. It’s not every day you see that level of care and pride from an owner, and it absolutely elevated the experience.

We started with two fantastic appetizers—the eggplant rollatini and little neck clams in marinara sauce. Both were delicious, fresh, and beautifully prepared. For entrees, we chose the mahi mahi in mango sauce special and the shrimp scampi over linguini. Each dish was cooked to perfection and seasoned just right. Compliments to the chef—truly excellent work in the kitchen!

We ended our meal on a sweet note with the mini cannolis, which were perfectly crispy and bursting with flavor.

Although Reno’s (formerly Maria’s) has been a staple in town for some time, their recent expansion into a charming sit-down dining area has added so much to the local dining scene. It’s cozy, welcoming, and a perfect spot for a relaxed and satisfying dinner. Reno’s is a real asset to Wharton, and we’ll definitely be back! (PS It's BYOB!)“

“We love Jimmy Tomato's. My husband and I are vegan and they will make all the Indian vegetarian pies vegan. The veggies are exceptionally good crisp and perfect. I can't stand what veggies past their prime. I will not eat and never go back. The freshness of the veggies is top notch. Be forewarned the Indian pies are very spicy! Kids love their traditional pies. I have had them as well and they are good Roman pizza pies.“

The crust was perfectly baked with just the right balance of crisp and chew, the sauce was full of flavor, and the cheese was melted perfectly. The toppings were fresh and generously portioned, which made every slice satisfying. Whether it was catered or ordered for a group, the pizza stayed hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious. “I went yesterday to pick up a TooGoodToGo order. The owner(s) were friendly, greeted me and let me know the bagels were handmade daily. I went home and decided to make myself a sandwhich on one of the bagels and it was incredible. I am from Brooklyn so I’m picky about my bagels but the bagels from here were delicious. The pizza I received was also good quality and yummy. I would come back here everyday if I lived closer. Definitely worth the trip.“

“We have been coming to Sals for long long time. The food especially the Cheese Steak sandwich and fries are the best. When it’s cold outside Sal makes a pasta fagioli that’s out of this world. Don’t forget the zepoles. Thanks Sal and son, for making Sal’s Pizzaria a great place to sit down and eat a slice of pizza and enjoy a glass of wine to go with it. 👍“

“Holy moly……. The food here is phenomenal, ambience is perfect, service is 💯. The gentleman at the front counter making the food and serving is passionate and a true artist with food. I added a picture, wanted to share it before I bit into it, but the aroma, taste, and texture was 🔥!! I had the cheesesteak pizza- of all the speciality slices I’ve had in many years- this was the best one.

I drove 30 minutes back here because it’s the best!! Support local!

“At Luigi’s they do it right. I don’t know if it is because they sell pizza by the slice but their crust is one of the best I’ve had in a long time. Even after a long ride in the car the crust had a crunchy outside texture with a perfect balance of chewy dough. The sauce had the perfect flavor and a balanced acidity with sweetness. Although I have not tried them, people who have had the sausage roles and the Stromboli swear by it. They are unfortunately 30+ miles from where we live but if we are in the neighborhood we definitely make a point of stopping by.“

Plus, it came with a generous-sized salad, making it a fantastic deal. The eggplant parmesan sandwich was equally delicious—toasted crispy, savory, and so satisfying that it was enough for two meals! “I ordered on a Friday evening and ordered online. The online system gave me an approximate delivery time. Knowing it’s a Friday, I knew the estimated time couldn’t possibly be correct. After a while, I called just to get an update. The staff was very friendly. The food arrived hot and was delicious!“

“Carmine's is our go to place whenever we crave Italian or a cheesesteak. Husband and I were there yesterday for late lunch. Excellent pasta fagioli soup, huge slices of pizza, and overstuffed, cheesesteak. Great service and reasonable prices. We were informed there is an extra charge if you're not paying cash. This is becoming a common practice and we were informed of it. Server was excellent and made us feel welcome. I was asked if I knew of any pizza parlors served gluten free and of course I recommended Carmine's.“

“The food here is outstanding & delicious! You must try the Sicilian Grandma's Pizza. The crust was amazing as is how they make a Sicilian slice of pizza. It's the right balance of crust and fresh ingredients without it being overpowered with dough. The salad we had was delicious too. “My family just held my baby shower here last week. I could not have been more happy with the result. The room was set up beautifully, the service was fantastic, and the food was the best part. Mangianos worked with my mom throughout the whole process. They were willing to make substitutions and even send left over food home with my mom. We had about 40 guests and there was plenty of space in their event room. My friends and family have been raving about the food, especially the shrimp! I could not recommend them more.“

“I slept on this place for 4 years. I moved to the area 4 years ago and I never gave it a shot. I went every where else in the area including another place called Tjs. Recently one of my colleagues ordered a Pie from TJs. I was skeptical. I was wrong. It was fantastic. The sauce on the pie is something in itself different.
