“Walked in without a reservation and were quickly seated despite the restaurant being very busy. Staff were super friendly and kind. Food was AMAZING. Like absolutely knocked it out of the park. The bread was warm and soft and delicious, serviced with a sun-dried tomato compound butter. The fried calamari was excellent, the lemon sauce thing amazing and the tomato thing also amazing. The winter salad was delicious. We got the caramelized onion cacio y Pepe, the shrimp bolo, and the truffle gnocchi. All were outstanding. The gnocchi were light as air and the sauce was divine. For dessert, the chocolate tort, carrot cake, and tiramisu were all decadent and perfect. We were truly impressed with how absolutely delicious everything was. Will definitely be back!“

It’s a really casual place; not pretentious in any way, but the bartender was both talented and conversational and made something off menu to enjoy. For dinner, I decided on French Onion Soup and Steak Frites and thoroughly enjoyed myself. Besides this, the bread service they bake in house is amazing and I learned about the owner and how he treats his people and that made me even happier that I came in. “My wife and I have been patrons and huge fans of Chez Catherine for nearly 30 years. Last Friday, we happily celebrated our 39th anniversary there with another very fine lunch. It's always a pleasure to be greeted like old friends by owner Stephane Bocket and seated at what we think is the best table in the tastefully decorated, elegant restaurant. We both chose the prix fixe menu. For starters, my wife had the always terrific moules and I a lovely mixed salad. We both chose beef bourguignons for our main course and asked Stephane to suggest wine from the by-the-glass list. His selections of a chablis for my wife and pinot noir for me worked perfectly with the outstanding bourguignons. We finished by sharing a delicious Baba au Rhum, prepared by Stephane at tableside. Dining at Chez Catherine is always a special event to us. Everything about it is first class. If you are unfamiliar with Chez Catherine, it has been one of New Jersey's Top 5 restaurants for nearly 40 years. We recommend it highly and urge lovers of fine dining to not wait but reserve a table NOW. We're sure you'll find it to be as special as we do.“

“We were a party of 10 and we broke down the other party of eight under Armstead. We would've loved to have sex together, but we wanted to experience of ordering what we wanted to eat and not have to order three basic menus other than that the service was perfect. The food was good. The staff made you feel like you were sitting at home being catered to we look forward to coming again.“
