“My husband and I stumbled on NJMP after speaking with a business owner who specializes in endurance go-kart races and has an upcoming event being hosted by NJMP. I learned about NJMP on August 20th, and my daughter was in her first league race on the 28th. We drive about 5 hours one way, so about 10 hours total, every Friday, so that my daughter can participate in a sport she loves.

I really could not be happier with NJMP. I am not exaggerating when I say they have far exceeded my expectations. Dakota is the Director of Karting for NJMP, and he is FABULOUS! We cannot say enough good things about how he manages not only the leagues, but the arrive and drive races as well. In addition to the league races, we also purchase 3 arrive and drive races for her every week so she can get more experience behind the wheel.

Dakota is deliberate about engaging with all of his new racers and making sure they feel comfortable. I have seen him encourage multiple drivers who are discouraged and frustrated with how they raced. During our first day, we had about a million questions for Dakota, but he never got irritated or frustrated with us. He was genuinely happy to help in any way he could. As he saw Hannah's lap times go down, he would immediately tell us. He was just as proud of her as we were. He did not just do this for Hannah. He was doing this for multiple young racers, and it was really heartening to watch him take so much pride in his racers and their successes.

Dakota constantly encourages the racers, especially the new ones, and takes pride when the racers do well or improve their times. From our first visit, we felt like we were at home at NJMP. The 10-plus hours of driving do not feel as painful because we genuinely look forward to going to NJMP. We feel as though our daughter is safe and well taken care of. The young guys that work with Dakota are also very kind. They are always watching the races and making sure everyone is safe. The warning flags go out when a kart spins out or there is a crash.

I would encourage anyone looking to get their kid into competitive gas karting to give NJMP a shot. You do not have to immediately drop thousands on a kart while you and your child learn how kart racing works. NJMP provides literally everything a driver would need to start racing: the helmet, suit, neck brace, and gloves. Your child gets a TON of time in the kart for what I consider an extremely reasonable price. NJMP is worth the 10-plus hours of driving, they really are. I am so thankful we found them.
