“The food was delicious, loved the miso soup and the shrimp tempura especially. The salad was also really good, it had some ginger paste and normally, i’m not a fan of ginger but this was so good!

The service was amazing. The staff were super attentive and friendly. We came for my sister’s birthday and they sang so well.

“This is hands-down our favorite sushi place! It’s an intimate, family-run gem where you can truly feel the love and care that goes into everything—from the food to the service. The sushi is always incredibly fresh and delicious, and the atmosphere is welcoming and relaxed.

Our kids love coming here too. The friendly staff always makes them feel special, and the free ice cream at the end is such a sweet treat they look forward to every time.

“The food here was fantastic — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The restaurant was clean and the atmosphere was lovely. Our server was incredibly kind and welcoming; truly one of the best dining experiences in terms of service.

However, our meal was disrupted by a group of unaccompanied children who were very loud, constantly changing the restaurant’s music, and playing with the volume to the point it was hard to hold a conversation. One even mentioned their dad owns the building. Another diner actually asked if they were ours because it was that disruptive.

I really hope the owner addresses this, because it’s not fair to the staff or the guests if the children are being truthful about coming three times a week being this disruptive. Otherwise, this place is wonderful and I’d absolutely return when I’m back in the area.“

“Sushi is outstanding quality. It maybe a few dollars more than some other places, but it's well worth it because of the value you get for the money. The rolls are clearly made with quality ingredients, and doesn't skimp on the fish. It's one of the few places you can get a Spicy Scallop Roll for lunch, which is a favorite. The attention to detail with takeout orders (i.e. spill-proofing, quality chopsticks, etc.) is better than almost any other place I've been too, not just sushi places. The only critique I would offer is they don't have an option for brown rice, but that is far from a deal breaker for me. Overall, highly recommend.“

“I just finished a fabulous Hawaiian poke bowl that I would recommend to anyone. A perfect blend of crunchy spicy and succulent. My choice is to have it over greens, but I think it would be just as good over brown rice. The staff is incredibly friendly, patient with new customers, and so helpful. Good to eat in, eat outside, or takeout!“

“We decided to try this sushi spot under its new ownership—and we’re so glad we did! The sushi was incredibly fresh, and the menu had a great variety of rolls to choose from. My daughter ordered the Udon noodles, which were packed with flavor and served with crisp, fresh vegetables.

The sushi chef even surprised us with a complimentary roll as a thank-you for coming in—it was almost too beautiful to eat! And to top it off, they gave us each a serving of mochi ice cream on the house, which was a perfect sweet ending.

“After a very long day, I came in get a bite to eat before I went back to traveling. The food is delicious. The staff is incredible. They will go the extra mile for you (literally). After ordering and eating entirely too much delicious food the couple who owns the restaurant gave me a ride to the bus station. The woman who served me was kind and kept me company while I was alone. Really one of the best experiences I have had in the entire state of New Jersey. Thankful for people like you.“

“Oh my gosh the food was amazing. The atmosphere for a date night was a 10 out of 10. Such a gem in the neighborhood. The surf and turf hand roll was immaculate. Had the ex-wife roll and literally it was so many flavors at once I was surprised at the creativity. The host and serving staff were also very timely and very welcoming. “My family arrived at Sushi and Kimchi late in the evening right before their closing, but the host welcomed us and informed us what was available. We were so grateful. The food was authentic and delicious (My 80 year old Korean mom approved them too!!) and the service was beyond imaginable. We are very jealous of locals who can go eat there often. In today’s world they have managed to keep the pricing so reasonable. We went tonight and my kids were treated like royalty (and they don’t even eat sushi) the whole staff was incredible and we were so grateful. “Service was amazing. I had a waitress who thankfully spoke spanish to help my mom order! She was kind patient and our orders came quickly. The prices shocked me, as they were very affordable for a good quantity of food! Me personally I loved the sushi and my mom enjoyed her chicken teriyaki. They also offered us free appetizers including chicken bites and steaks, salads and soups. The ambience of the place is very nice as well.“

“Is it a crazy idea that this place is best in NJ? No. It’s the best!! Good fresh fish is hard to come by, even places in Ridgewood that are fancier rarely have such good fish. Been coming for 15 years even when I lived far away. It’s fairly priced. That means some will find it more expensive compared to what they experienced elsewhere. It’s well worth it! I see all people here who are regulars. Coming for years. That’s because the quality here never fails!“
