“New 08059 resident here! Looked up a few pizza places and this was 2nd closest to me. Got the large Hawaiian Sicilian. Almost went to another shop but felt weird that they include forced tip for pickup?!? I left Pete’s a tip anyway but there’s a huge difference between wanting to leave one vs being forced to, for pickup!!!

“Pizza was very good! Ordered a large “Vinny” and it was ready after about 20 min. We ordered walk-in, so the wait time was a little longer considering there were only 2 employees, and we brought many customers. The cashier was very helpful and patient when the group was attempting to use visa gift cards to pay for orders. My only problem is that two orders within the group were made incorrectly. One, a small pizza with half cheese and half pepperoni, was made entirely with pepperoni. The other, a large pizza, was made as a small. These inconveniences were handled very well by the staff who offered to remake the pizzas, but the added wait almost made it not worth it. Overall good experience and great pizza!“

“Ordered the Long Hots Cheesesteak......It was very good ....A nice and spicy sandwich with caramelized onions and Cheese .....Meat was juicy, The breaded roll tasted fresh..... Crispy outside and soft inside...and the sandwich overall was full of flavor...Will definitely come back and order some of the other sandwiches on my next trip to Philly!!!

“I just attended my niece's graduation party there. AMAZING PIZZA !!!! They put out a variety of pizzas on a buffet table. A crispy crust (I went right for the corner pieces) with cheese down 1st. I enjoyed them all, but my favorites were the sausage, the pepperoni, the white pie with onions pork belly and sprouts and the spinach and ricotta. Can't wait to go back !!!“

“Truly a 10/10 experience from start to finish.

This was our first visit after hearing so many great things, and we left feeling like family. Our server, Grant, was fantastic, super attentive, incredibly helpful, and genuinely kind. The rest of the staff made us feel just as welcome. We were originally seated inside but asked if it would be possible to move outside, and they happily accommodated us without hesitation.

Since it was our first time, we had no idea what to order. We basically rallied the staff and bombarded them with questions, and everyone was more than happy to help. We ended up trusting their recommendations, and they absolutely nailed it. We ordered the sausage & fennel pizza, the mushroom white pizza, the kale Caesar, the focaccia, and the ricotta dip. Every single thing blew us away.

The pacing of the meal was perfect. Everything came out at just the right time, so the table never felt cluttered. We definitely ordered with our eyes, but we weren’t complaining because the leftovers were just as exciting to take home.

The focaccia deserves a special mention. You can tell the bread program is something they take a lot of pride in. Their dough is absolutely dialed in. As someone who loves wood-fired pizza, it’s always a treat to get a pie that’s still sturdy and not floppy,
a difficult thing to pull off when you’re cooking pizzas in under three minutes at around 800 degrees.

One of the highlights of the night was when the chef let us try a new dish he was working on; a tomato salad with caramelized breadcrumbs. It was absolutely mind-blowing and fit seamlessly with the rest of the menu. I think it’s easy for new chefs to come in wanting to make a statement or put too much of their own ego into every dish. This wasn’t that at all. It was thoughtful, humble, and incredibly well-executed. It complemented what was already a fantastic menu instead of trying to overshadow it. You can tell there’s a real sense of collaboration in the kitchen, and it’s exciting to see that kind of synergy. They already had something special, and it feels like great things are still to come.

Everything tasted incredibly fresh, and the portion sizes were perfect for me and my date.

A huge thank you to Danny, Grant and Garrett, who were absolute sweethearts, along with the rest of the team for making our first visit so memorable. The food was outstanding, the service was exceptional, and the hospitality made all the difference.

“Before today, I haven’t been to Mama‘s since the reopening. Boy, was I snoozing! Had my first sabich - hard boiled eggs, eggplant, tahini layered in a warm pita with crunchy veggies and sheer deliciousness. Figured while I was there, I may as well pick up dinner… so I went with Mama’s mixed plate of falafel, latke, eggplant, hummus, tahini and some magical flavor bombs to accompany the meal. “From the phone call to the delivery a great experience. Had a large vegetable pizza with a thin crust. The crust was thin but soft and delicious. Plenty of veggies nicely cooked. Have not had pizza in about 10 years. My guest and I were quite satisfied. I called the store and told them how very well satisfied we were. “The absolute best gluten free pizza I have found for sure. It is thicker than other gf options with a nice texture and a lot of options. I can’t forget to give some appreciation for those mozzarella sticks too because they are amazing. I tried the chicken tenders this time. They were pretty large, very moist and looked very fresh, not frozen, with a nice crunchy outside. I did think they were a little bland and the honey garlic dipping sauce had something in it that did not work with the flavor. I believe it was a bunch of oregano. I would try them again with another sauce. Everyone is very friendly when you walk in. I have had nothing but positive experiences, whether I order take out or eat there.“

“Montegrillo is my favorite place when I’m craving authentic Italian food. The owners are amazing guys—always friendly, welcoming, and genuinely nice to see every time I come in.

The food has consistently been great. I’ve tried the pizza and tomato pie, and both are excellent. The seafood bisque with the special bread they serve for dipping is honestly one of my favorite reasons to go there. It’s that good.

The Chicken Portofino with spinach and Alfredo sauce over tortellini is always amazing. I’ve also had the mushroom sauce dish, which was very good, and the pasta with garlic and olive oil was simple but absolutely delicious.

I’ve been cutting back on carbs for a while, so when I decide I’m going to have Italian food, I want it to be worth it. When I want authentic Italian beyond just pizza, Montegrillo is where I go.

“We stopped in for dinner and drinks.. They Did Not Disappoint! The customer service was amazing! We had Emily and she was super sweet, she keep checking to make sure we were okay and just made everything even more awesome. Our food .... I wanted to go back the next day! It was absolutely delicious. The appetizers just were the roll of red carpet greatness! Everything tasted great and left you wanting more. Everything has the fire grilled taste, and we had leftovers! I loved the drink menu! They had seasonal drinks and a bunch of cool cocktail drinks to order, i tried a few and they were all really good!
