“This place is truly one of the best parts of Rockaway. I work at the doctor's office up the street from it and we order take out a lot. They serve all the classic bar favorites to perfection! The juicy burgers are fresh and absolutely fantastic...and OMG the cheesesteak is AWESOME!!!!! But what really makes this place standout are the people behind all of it. Bridgett, the owner, is genuinely one of the loveliest and most accommodating people you'll ever meet. She goes out of her way to make everyone feel welcome, and you can tell that she puts her heart into the place. She will personally deliver our food to our office every single time because we are so busy. And Myles deserves a huge shout-out. That man can cook a burger like nobody else, and the cheesesteak he puts out is honestly next-level! You can taste the care and skill in every bite of it. It's disappointing to see a few unfair reviews floating around, because they don't reflect the real experience here. Great food, great atmosphere, and truly GREAT people. I want to add that I had my husband’s 50th birthday party there and they did an outstanding job making it happen. Karen and Sam Made some amazing food and they were so attentive to my guests. The bartenders, Kyle and Jo Jo Rocked it they made amazing drinks and Kept them coming to the birthday boy the Whole day.

But what’s even more special and means the world to me is that the staff that was not working that day came to hang out and help me set up and enjoy my husband’s 50th with us. Literally, family, and good friends at this bar. If you’re looking for a local bar to frequent to get good food, drinks and make outstanding friendships. I highly recommend you come down and see Dave, Denise, JoJo, Kim, Kyle, Elaine and Alison. Heck, you’ll probably meet me too. I’m the girl with the bow. That’s always at the bar.“

“I’ve been to The Side Door before, but I’ve never had a bartender like Crystal. She is hands down one of the best bartenders I’ve ever had! I originally stopped by for just one quick birthday drink, but her friendly personality, great energy, and amazing service convinced us to stay much longer than we planned. We ended up spending way more than we expected, and it was worth every penny because she made the whole experience so much fun.

I was honestly surprised to find out she’s a new bartender here because she made it feel like she’d been doing it for years. She was attentive, welcoming, and knew exactly how to keep the good vibes going.

Crystal truly made my birthday drinks memorable. I’ll definitely be coming back, and I’ll be recommending The Side Door to all of my friends—as long as Crystal is behind the bar! 10/10 experience.“

“Adam’s Beer Garden is a secret gem! I’ve driven passed this a thousand times. There is more then enough room to watch all the games. Spread out at this bar there is a bunch of things to do. Play pool, play the lottery, I believe they have a dart board! Go outside where there is even more endless space and challenge someone to foos ball. Before you go outside grab a cigar from their humidor. Then just chill out there in front of a big screen and watch your team win a game. They have a okay selection of cigars to choose from. The cigars are reasonably priced. Lots of beer on tap. We ordered a pitcher you should too! Cash only! Don’t think they sell food.

“One of our favorite local spots. Perfect for outdoor dining during nice summer weather. Their menu has a lot to pick from and everything we’ve gotten has been delicious. Highly recommended.“

“Visited with friends for Dinner and Drinks, and we all had a great time. Cocktail options were limited but they were strong. Most of the Food item was good, but the Chicken was a little bit dry.

Service was a bit relaxed despite the place being not that crowded but the Staff were friendly and polite. Overall, pretty good option for Dinner and Drinks.“

“We have eaten at the new Carriage House a few times since it recently opened, and have been impressed overall. The food has been consistently good, and the Carriage House is quite lovely. We have tried chicken, fish, and pasta entrees and have enjoyed them all. The overall service is good, but as with most restaurants, they have some very seasoned staff who are excellent, along with some relatively new staff who will benefit from more experience. It is an excellent choice before or after a performance at the Paper Mill. We hope they continue service when the Paper Mill is not offering performances.“

“This was our favorite restaurant for years when we lived in NJ. We were in area last week (after 15 years). WOW - the menu, the food, the cocktails, the service and effort put into everything is still FABULOUS! Our dinner on Friday was so good, we ate there again on Saturday night. Went on my own, bartender was nice.
Gave really good beer suggestions: fruity but non sweet IPA, and another lemon beer.

Music was really good. There was karaoke that night too (Thursday).

There were a variety of ages, from 20s to 50s and even 60s, everyone was thoroughly enjoying themselves.

They have different events and bands throughout the month so defo check them out.

It states no substitution, but add-ons seem to be a substitution and you get charged full price plus the add-on. Better communication up front would have been helpful, however the server did make it right for one of the items that was charged at full price.“

this one was my favorite! the italian in me loves garlic lol. just so many flavors is was very good.

we had enough chips to eat all the guacs :) great choices!

chicken taquitos- my favorite! crispy and juicy chicken. they put a mix of green salsa verde and creamy chipotle sauce. has a kick but not bad. i did take off the onion because i didn't want onion. which i didn't know they put it on so i'll say no onion next time.

rice and beans were very flavorful. love the cilantro and cheese on top. nice size too.

chips were very good as well. crispy and not oily. but very salty. i have to be honest. next time i need to ask if they have unsalted chips. sometimes its too much. but over all everything was perfect and staff was very friendly too.“

“I have lived in the area for over 20 years, and I had no idea this spot existed inside the Hanover Marriott—even though it’s been here for 26 years! I was very pleasantly surprised when I finally walked in. The decor and ambiance are fantastic; you can really tell the woodwork and furnishings were crafted in Ireland, shipped over, and reassembled to create a genuinely authentic pub atmosphere.
The service from Michael was top-notch—attentive, friendly, and welcoming throughout our stay. The food was very good as well, making it an ideal venue for a quiet business lunch. I will definitely be back soon, and I am looking forward to trying it out on the weekend for a date night!“
