“Byrne's Tavern, above all else, is the coziest and most welcoming bar/restaurant I know. Their delicious wings, crabs, sandwiches, and pizzas are all prepared with love, and their front of house is so unapologetically Philly—from the staff to the decor. I feel right at home!

Byrne's makes the best wings in Philadelphia. They fall right off the bone, and they come drenched in the most perfectly balanced, tangy and spicy house-made buffalo sauce. It's the only sauce option they have, so you KNOW it's good.

They have a sizable menu, but I haven't tried a lot of their food yet because every time I'm there, I can't help but just eat an ungodly amount of wings. If you're planning on visiting this place, do yourself a favor and try the wings!“

After an unfortunate experience somewhere else we called Dooney’s to see if they could accommodate a party of 17 last minute, and they said of course. Half of our party was kids 7 and under. “We had an excellent dining experience at The Pour House! From start to finish, everything was top-notch. We started with the oysters and nachos—both were incredibly fresh and flavorful. For our main course, we tried several sandwiches and burgers, all recommended by our amazing server, Marissa. Marissa was outstanding—friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful. She made great suggestions and made sure our group was well taken care of throughout the meal. The service and food were equally impressive, and we’ll definitely be coming back. Definitely recommend if you’re in the area and are in the mood for oysters.“

CONS: pricey for what it is, they charge extra for using card, beer prices aren’t listed (you will have to ask server for price of each beer if you want to compare), prices on website are higher than what is charged at the bar. Paid $73ish for two apps and two beers each at a dive bar (with tip). Seitan wings are generally too salty.

Overall, I’ve been here a few times. It’s good for what it is. There aren’t many good alternatives in the area, so if you’re looking for a dive vibe, this is probably the best you’ll find within easy walking distance. Better for drinks than it is for food, still not exactly cheap.“

“I stopped in here during Happy Hour one Friday afternoon and had a very enjoyable time. I met some friendly people and engaged in some good conversations with the regular customers. Mostly concerning sports and alcohol beverages. All three bartenders were excellent servers and quickly replenished our drinks. Can't wait until they start serving food as they just reopened under new management. It's a small place with just a straight bar but it was a friendly atmosphere.“

“I stopped here one Saturday on my way home from center city and had a very good evening. I opened the door and was greeted by a friend who performs at so many local drinking establishments in Northeast Philly. As it was a spontaneous decision to go here I was very surprised to see him. Located on Rhawn Street off of Frankford Avenue in Mayfair/Holmesburg. It has an latge open area for music and dancing with long straight bar. I didn't have the food so I can't rate it. Our barmaid/server Laurie was friendly, witty and an excellent host. I met several friendly and engaging people here and will surely stop back.“

“I have been going to Penns port for over 30 years. The dancers and staff are always friendly and make you feel welcome. I drive 40 miles to this bar as it’s the best strip club I have ever been to and I have been to a lot of them. No lap dances tho!“

“Best Bloody Mary in the area- hands down. Fun Man's bloody takes it to a whole other level. I literally drag myself out of bed every other Sunday for the purpose of indulging in his artwork of a bloody. You can taste the care, creation and passion for this drink with every sip. Have yet to have one better than his and as an added bonus, there is usually bacon AND shrimp for garnish.“
