We picked up a wedding kielbasa, which the kind ladies, who ran the place, told us meant it was double smoked, something I, who am half polish, did not know. “Working at a house in the area and this place was 8 minutes from the jobsite. It's a bit expensive but saves you from running down the mountain so you're paying for convenience. Tried the taylor ham, egg and cheese. It was prepared well and the roll was super soft. Was it New Jerseys best? Definitely not, but overall it was decent. Co-worker got a sandwich off the board, believe it was the Susie. Once again, not blowing your socks off, but still decent. Definitely at the top end of deli pricing but an ok spot to grab a bite. Service was slow but we didn't call in and it seemed like they were a bit busy. Staff was polite.“

“We love Otto’s! My Mom grew up right down the road and even though we live in Massachusetts now, it’s our fav and we’ve been eating the German potato salad for 50 plus years! This is our go-to deli for the BEST German potato salad on the East coast! We have driven 3 hours just to get it numerous times. My Mom said it’s been the same exact recipe for 75 plus years, our NJ family has been eating it for that long or longer. The prices are great and I also love that the inside looks the same as when I first remember going in around the age of 5 or 6. I Highly recommend this wonderful family owned and operated small business.“

“I grew up in Waldwick so I may be biased but as an Italian American I love this place. I recently moved away from Bergen County and didn't realize how good I had it. From the quality of the ingredients, freshness, value for your money there is no better Italian deli in my opinion. Their sandwiches are so good, the cold sides and salads are also very good. It's great for lunch or catering. I also love the assortment of prepared foods/soups and other products available. I for sure make it a point to stop in whenever I'm in town. 10/10 would recommend!“

“This is such a great place. The food is wonderful the atmosphere is great and service is out of this world. I would recommend if your sick or just a soup lover to get their chicken and rice soup. Its thick and hearty with shredded chicken. The fresh mozzarella is like 10 dollars for this small ball but worth it. They make great spaghetti sauce and have wonderful sandwiches too but I'm cutting back on bread so I can't say I've had them that much“

“Nestled in a small strip mall next to the Mahwah train station, this deli is charming, the owner and staff are friendly (it’s family run), and the food is really good. I have been here three times in the past two weeks, and I have been very satisfied each time. I do plan on becoming a regular customer. There are daily soups and specials, the latter of which can be purchased as a single serving or family style (feeds 4-5 people). Each day of the week has its own special item, but the specials remain the same for each day from one week to the next. We recently had the Parmesan Crusted Chicken with Tortellini Alfredo daily special, family style. It was just for the two of us, but we got two entire meals out of it (four individual servings). It was delicious. They have an interesting and eclectic mix of menu items, including empanadas, chicken wings, gyros, taquitos, antipasto, stuffed peppers, sliders (burger, chicken, and pulled pork), meatballs, heroes, soups, salads, and desserts. While they do serve heroes, this does not appear to be the kind of deli where you go for, say, a typical roast beef or tuna fish sandwich with a side of regular potato salad. In the deli case, though, I did notice items like white meat chicken salad, country Coleslaw, green beans oreganata, pasta primavera, cucumber salad, salmon cakes, and stuffed filet of sole. There is a small selection of packaged items (potato chips, pasta), jarred items (pickles, olives, peppers, marinated mushrooms, and condiments), candy, and snacks. There are two refrigerators filled with “Grab ‘n Go” items. They also have a catering menu. For those who may want to stay and eat, there is a small countertop area with seats for four people. There is also a bench at the front window where you can sit and wait for your order to be prepared. You can join their VIP mobile club and receive a discount and daily text messages with a photo of the day’s special and pricing. There is parking directly in front of the store as well as at a right angle in front of the train station. (Those who ride the commuter train usually park on the other side of tracks in a designated parking lot.) If you live in the area, this place is definitely worth a try. I showed Estella, the main baker a picture of what I wanted and she followed it to a T. It was half the price of what some of these Instagram bakers ask for. “Does Taylor ham, egg, and cheese ring a bell? Super unique sandwich menu, too. The town high school team is the Highlanders, and the sandwiches are named after teachers, coaches, and things in school. Those sandwiches may have been those people's preferred invention, and/or discovery.“

They had it set up for success right from the start. The prices and portions are on par. Everything in this Deli is delicious imo. The homemade soups are phenomenal. If you're in the mood for salad, pick your ingredients and they mix it for you. The actual Deli section offers many paninis and wraps that never change, I've tried them all and it's a fool's errand to try to pick a favorite, but if I had a gun to my head I'd go with the French Onion panini. They're all so delicious, and of course they have the egg salad and macaroni salad section with everything else behind the glass on the right side of that section. Well worth the trip.“

“Closest place to get a gluten free bagel/breakfast sandwich for me. It’s a bit disorganized/hectic when ordering inside - people who already ordered are either usually in the way of the register or standing on the side. Not the biggest issue, but something that could be improved upon if a waiting area or designated pickup area were established.
