“Went here tonight. Had a wonderful experience. Friendly staff, pretty good food, A+ drinks and ambience. Had the tuna tartare- think they can sauce up a little bit and hit with a " vehicle" ( tostada, etc), but overall, fine!! And surprisingly fresh for the area. Grilled Caesar- fantastic. Croquettes ( jamon) more my husbands thing but the sauce was good and I totally enjoyed ! Staff is sweet and super excited to have you. Ambiance is gorgeous. And honestly- food, room for improvement but definitely a major highlight of the area.

For those of you submitting bad reviews, shame on you. I have to take a guess and say 1.) you think you have taste because you lived in Murray Hill for a couple years, did a stint and Hoboken then made your way to the suburbs of Jersey. News flash, it's northern Jersey. You should be appreciative this place is putting an effort in to offer a more elegant experience than the harvest restaurants and chipotle around town. These people are trying, and we should be encouraging this type of development in our town as much as possible. OR 2.) you're so violently upset by the costing of tapas that you blow their whole rating on that, you aren't the target audience.

“I came here for my birthday. Had a great time with my friends during the wine tasting. Staff was friendly and helpful. The live music was nice and he sang happy birthday to me ☺️ I’ll definitely return as a regular customer. Their options were unique and interesting.“

“Not our first redeo at this location. Previous experience was great. This time, well. We booked party of 4 and arrived first. Gentleman at checkin found our reservation and escorted us to our booth with 4 menus. He told us he would bring our guests when they arrived. Well, they seated our guests at another booth in a different section of the restaurant. 45 minutes later we figured it out. Then our waitress took our drink order. It was simple, 4 white glasses although different whites. She came back with 2 white and 2 red. Final bill was screwed up twice as well. Not counting these poor staffing issues, the food was absolutely great as always. However, with poor staff a great kitchen will have a difficult time to deliver repeat guests.“

“Excellent - wonderful lunch menu with daily specials . Soups snd risottos are my favorites but the entrees are delicious and perfect amounts. The soufflés - from choc to mango - are to die for. Even the expressos are good.“

“I visited this restaurant on this day for the Afro/Caribbean night. My complaint is for the DJ and not the restaurant itself. The food, drinks and wait staff was top notch and definitely excel in their crafts. But the damn DJ and mic man. Event was advertised to start at 7pm, I arrived at 7:30pm and he's sitting at the bar. At 8:30 the DJ queues up some Afro beats nicely but late. The mic man joins him and omg he was shouting, picking on one damn girl and her friends ALL night; it was giving stalker vibes. The music was all over the place SMH. I love HOUSE 157 but this is the first time I've been disappointed in the entertainment. I won't visit Afro nights or won't promote it to others; it's a shame though.“

I’ve been living in the area for about 15 years now and just randomly tried this place one day, and let me just say it not only exceeded my expectations but blew them out of the park. The food is absolutely delicious and the service is nothing short of simply the best. I would highkey recommend trying their freshly house made pizzas, they’re finger licking good as well as their pastas which are chefs kisses. I’m genuinely amazed at how not many people know about this restaurant. The owner is the sweetest woman I’ve ever met, we talked for 15 minutes just about her business it was 2 minutes before they closed and she offered me all of the left over pizza they hadn’t sold that day FOR FREE. I’ve found my new favorite go to Italian spot.“

“This is the first 5 Star restaurant we have found in NJ since moving in 1991 from Manhatten. Four of us went this past sunday evening. Everything was 5 star,including food; Niavh's (Irish name pronounced as Nieve) service; and the personable manager, Dave. Gorgeous wood and glass. Great Ambience. Easy to park. “Wide and varied selection of handhelds- burgers and sandwiches which come with fries that's golden crisp. Reuben Swiss on rye. Wonderfully melted cheese and succulent thin shaved brisket beef. Seated ahi tuna on arugula with sauce on the side was a bit plain.“

“If you’re looking for old school Italian, this is a great spot. They made it easy to schedule a work dinner for 9 people, and the service was quick and accurate. The Caesar salad was extremely tasty, as was my pasta dish, albeit a tad salty. The front bar area is also cozy and casual, so it’s a great place for an after work cocktail.

“We celebrated Father's Day with Moonshine's Sunday Brunch. It was an incredible selection - really a great value. Steak and Eggs, Lobster Benedict, Banana Bread... all must haves. The wait staff was wonderful, friendly, and responsive. I was definitely impressed and will be returning.“
