Chicken HandPie was quite unique. Flaky light and tasty. The French Dip Sandwich was done perfectly bread had the perfect crust yet still soft inside. Steak cooked perfectly. Now the GUMBO !!!!! Just insane with flavor and depth. Robust, rich full of flavor. Every bite was a different taste whether it was the crab,shrimp, sausage or crayfish . All around an excellent place. The room upstairs was very spacious for our group of 40 people. It was nice to have our own bathroom and bar. The servers were friendly and attentive and also very helpful. “We’ve been going to Illiano’s nearly 36 years. It’s been great since day 1. We usually do takeout and find the pizza, subs and garlic knots to be the best in Monmouth County. When we moved out of town about 3 years ago we tried to find something that was comparable and closer, but that didn’t work out so make the trip back just about every Friday night. “Just stopped in for happy hour and had a mango crush and their shot of the week (passion fruit lemon drop). The drink was delicious and super sweet and yummy. The shot came in a church communion cup, given that it’s more of a mixed drink than a shot, for $5 it’s not really worth it.
Other than that, it’s right on the boardwalk and the vibes there were great.“
