“We went for the all in one box because it was easily enough for two. The honey soy flavored chicken was fresh, crispy and scrumptious. It paired well with the waffle, and the fresh pineapple and ripe tomatoes. The box comes with a heap of fries and a mozzarella stick. The milk teas are generously sized, and there are many other tasty looking permutations. The cashier offered us complimentary vegetable dumplings which had a light crispy fried skin and flavorful fillings; I only wish there were more of the dipping sauce 🤩So glad we stopped by for an impromptu date.“

Good menu choice, however I have been here twice and both times I waited an unacceptable long time (40+ minutes) for a single simple drink. The pick up process is unstructured and unreliable. What's the point in waiting if you cannot even receive your drink. Strongly not recommended.“

I am shocked that they’ve been in business for more than a year and I just found them now?Being an avid bubble tea lover along with my kids, I can’t say enough good things about this place. It is a hidden gem in the heart of JSQ. The owner is very down to earth and a people person. You won’t step out of that place without a smile. She will make your drink according to your preference. You can make as many adjustments as you’d like and she will do it with a smile.

We ordered 2 Oreo shakes and a latte bubble tea. I ordered them in M size, but she gave me in L size? and still charged me for M. My kids loved their Oreo shakes and I very much enjoyed my latte. I can’t wait to go back and try the other bubble tea flavors and the waffles and crepes.

“This is a hidden gem in the Lower East Side. They make pretty good boba but I want to talk about the interior. The nostalgia in here is amazing. Everything looks like it was personally selected. The the curation of this place is sick. I got the Grapefruit Delight. I was skeptical of trying it because I thought it would be tart but it was actually smooth. No tartness at all. With amount of lychee. Not to discredit how good the boba but this spot is fire to me and I would just chill in here if I could. Whoever did the decor needs a raise lol. The owner made my drink a month or so ago & gave me the wrong bubbles I asked for regular and she ended up giving me brown sugar and said can I come back the next day she will give me a free one lol long story short she wasn’t there the next day because I bring my daughter to this location and she was too lazy to fix my drink the day she messed it up. I get she was overwhelmed by working alone and having a lot of people ordering but she has to do better as an OWNER! “I came across this boba tea shop on a Thursday evening after a friend recommended. It had a few indoor seats so I was able to order my drinks and chat with friends for awhile. I ordered the classic bubble milk tea with 25% sugar and it was just sweet enough (but not too sweet)! This was honestly so yummy and the boba was super soft. It's one of the best bobas I've had in awhile in NYC and reminds me of the ones I've had in China. I honestly preferred this over Kung Fu tea which is right across the street. Not to mention, my drink was under $5 which is way more affordable than other tea shops. I was craving this so much that I had to come back the next day to try their popcorn chicken as well. To my surprise, their popcorn chicken is also delicious. It's has a crispy crunch and the chicken is tender and well seasoned. It also came with a spicy chili sauce on the side. Overall, I highly recommend to stop by for a quick drink and snack! Now I'm craving more boba!“

I got a strawberry matcha which tasted really good, but do note that the strawberry is highly concentrated and may overpower the matcha if you prefer a stronger matcha flavor. “I’ve visited Modern Tea Shop before, and was super happy with my drink (rose milk tea). Today I decided to try it again and go for a different flavor! They have a lot of floral-inspired teas which is unique and a great reason to go. I got the matcha jasmine milk tea (oat milk) with boba (50% sugar), and thought it was 7/10. The oat milk wasn’t as creamy, so it caused the drink to be a bit watery unfortunately. Also, the jasmine flavor was not very pronounced, either due to the way it’s made or the sugar level I chose. Not sure I would get that drink again, but would recommend the rose milk!“

“Low key one of my favorite (if not favorite outright) bubble tea places in the entire city. The service is great, the prices are reasonable (bubble tea is so expensive these days), and it just has a nice casual vibe. It's never too packed or rowdy. And most importantly, the bubble tea is always great.

My go-to here is the peach oolong with tea jelly and it never disappoints. The peach flavoring isn't overly artificial or cloyingly sweet like it can be at other places. It's really good!

“I really enjoyed my milk black tea with bubbles and a milk foam cap! Choosing 25% sugar and ice made it just right — not overly sweet and not overloaded with ice, which I really appreciated. One thing to note is that they don’t offer milk black tea without bubbles, so even if you want it plain, you’ll still be charged the bubble tea price. Also, when I asked at the counter to customize the amount of bubbles, the staff pointed me to the self-service machine, but unfortunately, the machine doesn’t allow you to adjust that. “I came here because of their amazing 4.9 rating on Google Maps, however, I was not amazed by their food. I got curry puffs to start my dinner. The puffs were nice and flavorful. The outside was light and flaky, and the insides were well seasoned with nice texture. The sauce came with was too sweet to my liking. Personally I prefer eating it as it is. I pad see ew with shrimp and added beef($5). The flavor was nice and the shrimp was fresh and clean. However, the beef wasn’t so good especially when I paid $5 extra for them. It was too dry and chewy.
Overall, it’s a standard Thai restaurant. The food was nice but nothing special about it.“
