“This place is really convenient in the middle of town between Summit and Chatham. They speak very good English and they’re not cheap with the meat that they put in the food. The food taste very delicious and the broccoli was really fresh and when you get beef and broccoli the beef is not chewy it is soft and has good flavor. Their egg drop soup is also very good. I was really disappointed by the other more expensive Chinese food places and the end of this place being the diamond of the town.“

“We have been going to the Magic Grill for over 30 years. It is quick - if you want but never rushed if you don't. We love that everyone gets to select their own ingredients from 3 meats- chicken, pork , beef- super thinly sliced-12 or so vegetarian choice- zucchini, bok choy, onions, carrots, pineapple, peppers, baby corns, chives and a variety of sauces to suite every taste.“

“I was at first excited when Dao Madison moved into town and even more excited when I was told they can accommodate gluten free as I have celiac. After several miss steps with mixed up orders, Dao is now cooking on all cylinders. We recently were there with friends and everyone loved it. Moreover, they have successfully accommodated my need to eat gluten free (I have celiac) several times, and have been pro active in suggesting what is easier and safer to make gluten free. Just order pick up and don’t go to pricy places if u want to avoid being disappointed. I’ve bought from Madison Wok for 15 years now and never had a late order when ordering pick up here (usually 15 mins). The food tastes exactly as my local restaurant when I was a kid, so I can’t complain. For the price, consider how little you are paying for the amount of work and manpower going into it •• esp since it’s done so fast. Dao nearby has slightly less oil and flavor for a lot more money. I wanted to like it but just poor value since your deliver or pick up order price needs to support the wait staff. No American style Chinese food is healthy for you so stop thinking you’re doing something good by paying someone extra to do less oil, msg, etc. in summary, this is an old school place that gives you the standards for the least amount of money you’ll pay in this zip code. Not something to eat everyday, but when you need your fix for this kind of stuff. I recommend the pork dumplings, fried wings, curry chicken, wonton soup and any fried rice, plus the chow fun and generals chicken. My 3 kids never complain and no one has ever been sick. Sometimes I’m not crazy about the amount of meat but remember that I’m not paying $15 or $20 for a pint here, and the low prices are supporting a skeleton crew.“

“This was my first time ordering from this restaurant because it's hard to find good Chinese food. I ordered an orange chicken combo very spicy. The flavor of the food is excellent, the pork fried rice was on point and freshly made, the orange chicken was a bit mushy more on the softer side. If they can fry the chicken a little bit crunchy it would be perfect. The eggroll I'm not a fan of but it was okay. I enjoyed the food, and that will be my new goto restaurant from now on.“

“Casual take out Chinese with poor parking and a storefront that shows its time. Food preparation was quick. Food is fresh and delicious. My order is general tso chicken. As show in the attached photos, the chicken fills up the side of the container and is not layered over rice like some places do to cut costs. The portion is generous and I'm sure they just barely closed the lid. The chicken is cooked perfectly, lightly battered, fried to a crispy exterior and moist interior, I'm guessing dark meat which I prefer anyway. The sauce is tasty in this americanized version. The broccoli is fresh and healthy and steamed perfectly. The fried rice is excellent with pork, bean sprouts, green onions, and yellow onions. This rice was cooked expertly with wok hei, which is char, giving the rice a undertone of smoke. I'd pair this rice against that of upscale restaurants. Pork in the rice is abundant. Exerything in this order was fresh and cooked perfectly. My one negative is that general tso is supposed to have szechaun peppers and have heat, but this was sweet which is on par for most americanized Chinese eateries in the tri state area. As a visitor, I'm saddened I don't live closer to here as I would visit frequently. I do cook Chinese cuisine at home and can appreciate the technique and flavor in this order.\nOverall, excellent!\n\nEdit. This is now my third time coming here. The quality is consistently excellent. As I enjoy my lunch again I can taste that the oil use is fresh and clean.\nChinese has been my favorite cuisine since I was a child. For americanize szechuan, this is the BEST takeout I've had. I live in ny and come to this area twice a year for work. I look forward to coming here exclusively every trip. “New Szechuan Kitchen is a decent Chinese restaurant, though the food is a bit on the greasy side for my liking. The flavors are generally good, but I found the dishes to be a bit overly oily.

That said, I do prefer the Bound Brook location 1,000 times more than this one. The flavor and consistency at the Bound Brook spot is much better in my experience.

Overall, New Szechuan Kitchen is an average Chinese restaurant. The food is okay, but nothing particularly remarkable. If you're in the mood for some classic Chinese fare, it might be worth a try, but I'd recommend the Bound Brook location over this one if you have the option.“
