“Amazing! First time here, first time eating Ecuadorian food and everything got an A+. From the rice to the soup to the breading on seafood… was not expecting it to be that good. Service was also great, our server was thorough and patient when explaining every dish. Will definitely come back!“

“Delicious food with hugeeee portions. We loved the mixed chaufa, and pollo a la pobre as well as the duck with Chinese noodles. We have enough food for a whole other meal. Everything was very flavorful and fresh. Plus the parking in this city is difficult but there’s a Huge lot for this restaurant and its neighboring sites. We will return!“

“I like to keep a list of bookmarks on the ready. That way, if I ever happen to be in a certain neighborhood/have a specific craving, I can pull out that list. This was one of those times. I was running some errands nearby and I also had a craving for a Cuban sammie. My list showed me that El Artesano was one of the restaurants I wanted to try. Hubby and I stopped in on the Sunday of President’s Day Weekend at around 11 am. The restaurant is set up kind of like a diner. They have diner-style counter seating, and they also have two dining rooms. It was packed at that time but luckily, we only waited 5 minutes for a table. They have different specials each day of the week and one of the offerings on Sundays are Ajiaco Criollo, which is a Cuban-style stew. This one had potatoes, sweet potato (or maybe some kind of squash?), plantains, and super tender pieces of pork bone meat. It tasted more like a soup than it did a stew, but it was still delicious nonetheless. I ended up dipping my Cuban sammie in the stew, which sounds weird but don’t knock until you’ve tried it. The Cuban was good but I felt like it could have been a bit toastier/hotter. It seems they pre make the sandwiches in the morning and have them ready to be heated up once ordered. Hubby had his go-to, the masitas (fried pork chunks). It comes with two sides. I don’t really love this dish because the pork tends to be too dry, but he enjoyed it. For drinks, I had a cortadito and he had a fresh orange/carrot juice and both were a great addition to the meal. Tip - parking is a nightmare in that area. I’m not sure if it’s a Sunday thing or an all the time thing. I would recommend parking a bit further and walking over. The time it’ll take you to walk over will be shorter than the time you’ll spend circling looking for a spot.“

“The food is good and is priced right. good portions at a very affordable price. I moved away from the area 2+ years ago and back then the decor was pretty bad, don't know if they put some work into that, I sure hope so.“

“I want to get the bad out of the way first. I do feel the prices are a bit on the expensive side by a few bucks, especially for a local restaurant. They charge NYC prices. They should also make sure the menu prices match what they charge. I was going to take a star away for the price but what I write next will explain why I didn't.The food here is absolutely delicious. I have come here for breakfast and dinner and I am never disappointed in the food. The people that work here also seem very nice. I've never had issues with the service. The ladies here seem like they are in a good mood and they are working hard. All their food is good but I want to put my focus on their beans. I am a bean loving Puerto Rican and if you are a Latino restaurant that sells beans...they better be good. Well, this place has great beans. I appreciate the flavor and consistency of the beans. There are places that give you watery or watered down beans and it is a practice that I look down on because these places don't respect the details of the beans. As for my favorite dish, I am a simple guy and I enjoy their breaded chicken with rice and beans. I will also say that their version of arroz moro is absolutely great. So yes it is a bit more expensive but the richness of the food and the portions that you get will certainly make it more palatable. For this reason, I did not take a star away.“

“"This Cuban food restaurant offers excellent value for money. The staff is friendly and attentive. However, a small limitation is that they do not accept card payments, which may be inconvenient for some customers. Overall, the experience is wonderful, but due to this limitation, I give it 4 stars."⭐️“

“They have a friendly and quick staff, they know the menu very well and so far made two great suggestions that I really enjoyed. Beat Bolon we had so far in the planting to cheese and meat ratio. Hoping they Jazz it up in the future and add a cheese sauce like their competitors who don’t have that great ratio just mentioned.“
