“My wife and I have been patrons and huge fans of Chez Catherine for nearly 30 years. Last Friday, we happily celebrated our 39th anniversary there with another very fine lunch. It's always a pleasure to be greeted like old friends by owner Stephane Bocket and seated at what we think is the best table in the tastefully decorated, elegant restaurant. We both chose the prix fixe menu. For starters, my wife had the always terrific moules and I a lovely mixed salad. We both chose beef bourguignons for our main course and asked Stephane to suggest wine from the by-the-glass list. His selections of a chablis for my wife and pinot noir for me worked perfectly with the outstanding bourguignons. We finished by sharing a delicious Baba au Rhum, prepared by Stephane at tableside. Dining at Chez Catherine is always a special event to us. Everything about it is first class. If you are unfamiliar with Chez Catherine, it has been one of New Jersey's Top 5 restaurants for nearly 40 years. “Wide and varied selection of handhelds- burgers and sandwiches which come with fries that's golden crisp. Reuben Swiss on rye. Wonderfully melted cheese and succulent thin shaved brisket beef. Seated ahi tuna on arugula with sauce on the side was a bit plain.“

“Nice place. Service wasn't great. We had a new waiter, and he was not the greatest. He didn't pay attention to what we ordered, kept reminding him when we came back to the table of the items we ask for, nor the 1st or 2nd time, but the 3rd time. The atmosphere and food experience kind of override the service. I will definitely go back, but make sure I have someone more attentive and experienced.“
