Steak tartare was a miss for me. It was over seasoned with some sort of dressing and it was ice cold. Usually it’s closer to room temperature. Roasted oyster app was delicious. Big miss for me was the deviled eggs. I love a classic deviled egg and this was far from it. I didn’t like the flavor or texture. My wife had fried shrimp po-boy while was very big. I tasted a shrimp from it and it was fantastic. A nice fresh shrimp and properly fried. I didn’t try the gumbo. But it was in a very thin broth. I personally enjoyed a thicker gumbo with lots of okra and roux. My wife loved the cocktails.“

I have to mention this weekend specifically though because we had our wedding after party here. The owner, Kevin, is truly one of the nicest people and always provides service with a genuine smile. “When reviewing their menu, we saw Birria Tacos and were immediately committed. Upon arrival we were a little alarmed that there was nobody in the restaurant! There are 2 other attached venues by same owners which had customers. But the lack of patrons was a bit of a red flag.

Our service started out with our server, Austin, telling us the drinks we wanted from the on-line menu were no longer available. But they tried to make a smoked cocktail for us first and realized they were out of smoker chips. Our large party of 8 mostly ordered Margaritas, which were decent and discounted on Tuesdays.

We ordered food including Nachos, Quacamole, Quesabirria and Birria tacos, as well as fish tacos and al pastor. The food was fresh and excellent!

We had a visit from an owner/manager as well as the chef. The staff helped us get the Phillies game on the table-side TV.

Overall, the highlight of the night was definitely the Birria, whose consommé was rich, flavorful and not greasy like some. Also the cheese level on the tacos was perfect, the meat was tender and flavorful and the fresh cilantro really made it all pop.

The second best feature of our visit was definitely the service.

My phone battery died before I could get pics of food, but the space is cool.

Highly recommend.

Came here in the late afternoon with a group of people and got two tables with umbrellas luckily! We got drinks, got food from the food trucks, and chatted! Super fun atmosphere with the live music and of course being on the beach. It was nice to be able to walk around in the sand with no shoes.

We decided to drive from the city, but if you don’t have a car or want to drive, you can take the Seastreak ferry straight to the Sandbox! Which is super convenient and neat!

“I went there for supporting a friend’s performance. He’s in the band & he’s playing that night. First time for me there, I thought it’s just for show performance. So I had dinner at the restaurant across the street. Therefore I cannot comment the food or service there, so don’t refer to that part. Just based on the atmosphere there & so many people crowded in, I believe the food & service must at least worth 4-star. Hahaha. Anyway, the band was amazing, the performance was loved by the audience. Surfing For Daisy is the band’s name. You can find them on YouTube too. They play great music! And such an enjoyment to indulge yourself in it.“

I had not ordered anything so I don’t know about this. I was just there with them on last minute and I was full already.

Ambience :-
It was so amazing. The water view makes it more beautiful. Also there was live singing by the band, if you like it. And they played national song at time of sunset.

Restrooms :-
It was quite clean. Only thing is they’ve sensor light and it might turn off while you’re inside. So careful of that.

Our server was so nice with us and made sure we’re attended whenever we need to make any order. She was very helpful and nice.

Tips :-
It’s more beautiful if you go 1 hour before sunset. You can also take amazing pictures and videos there.

Parking: I was told they’ve both - free and paid parking. But we parked on paid. They charged around $2.5 per hour (don’t remember the exact amount)“

“Probably my favorite family friendly restaurant in all of New Jersey. Never had a bad bite. Service is always above and beyond accommodating and friendly, especially with young children. Food is priced reasonably despite the massive inflation we're all going through. The seasonal chicken pot pie is something I look forward to getting every year.
