“I honestly felt bad seeing Sumu’s Kitchen so empty when we walked in, because the food turned out to be absolutely amazing. This is genuinely one of those hidden gems that deserves a lot more attention.

What impressed me the most was how fresh everything was. Nothing tasted like it came out of a freezer or had been sitting around for hours. Everything we ordered was freshly made to order, and you could really taste the difference.

We tried the bondas, onion pakoda, dosa, Hakka noodles, mirchi bajji, and gobi Manchurian, and every single dish was delicious. The bondas and pakodas were hot, fresh, and crispy, the dosa was excellent, and the Hakka noodles and gobi Manchurian were especially good. And the coffee was sooo good — definitely don’t skip it!

Another big shout-out to Ganesh, the manager. He handled everything so well and was incredibly welcoming and attentive. The way he took care of the customers and managed the orders, you would honestly think he was the owner. That kind of personal attention made the experience even better.

“It was our honor and privilege to be a part of a dear friend's B'day Bash last Sunday at Kochi. Dining at Kochi was one of the, if not THE, most memorable experience ever. We were totally floored by the exquisite food - and service - provided by Chef and Owner Mr. Jebu Matthew and his team. From the cool berry drink and amazing classic South Indian appetizers, to the numerous - and for us, many new - items that kept appearing in front of us almost magically during the main meal, served in the traditional South Indian style (on banana leaves), right through the delectable halwa and delicious jaggery rice payasam (desserts), we could feel the love and careful attention with which each item was prepared and pride with which each item was served. Plus, being served by Mr. Matthew himself was, in and of itself, humbling. He patiently explained the intricacies of each delicacy which helped us understand the complexity of the cuisine's varied flavors. To be actually seated (for hours) and served at the table greatly enhanced the culinary experience. We have rarely, if ever, felt that we have consumed a feast - but now, can proudly say so - because of Mr. Matthew and our experience at Kochi.
