The hunan chicken comes loaded with veggies which I love and the sauce it's in is delicious! I order here once a week. Service is quick and friendly as well. I always order online for pickup. Since we purchased our home in Woodbridge we made it our mission to find good Chinese food since we moved from Brooklyn, NY where honestly any food is amazing. “If you ever visit Woodbridge Mall, you'll know that it does not have a food court. All eateries are scattered throughout the mall. It's lunch and I saw King Chef's ad at the center of the mall. My and I decided to give them a try. They are located on the 2nd floor at the corner of Macy's Dept store. We walked in and was greeted by one of the staff members. I decided to get the lunch special of orange chicken with brown rice. Yes, they have brown rice!!! The combo comes with a medium drink for $8 so it's reasonably priced for mall fast food. The portion size is good too. Although it's a takeout fast food, there's several tables at the fron and more tables in the back area if you want to eat there. My favorite dish I tried here was the general tso tofu. I love the taste, texture and aroma of this dish. It's a bit spicy just like the general tso chicken but oh so yummy! I will definitely stop by here again if I'm at the mall next time.“

“Great place it only seems that they allow take out at this time, I don't know what the deal is they have tables but it's blocked off the entrance way you have to wait in the doorway till they serve you your food for takeout but the food is great big shrimp in the shrimp lo mein really good chicken general tos.

“Great food here! I had to drive 40 minutes to get here, but the food makes it worth it! The service is great, the fish is excellent, and the atmosphere is friendly. The restroom is clean, but the only problem is the opening hour is a bit late. Overall, great experience. Would definitely come back again. Possibly the best fish soup in NJ.“

Wow! Firstly, very lovely first impression walking in and being seated. I am a big fan of the robin-egg colored tableware and the Miniso Dundun chicken timers lol. The place felt very clean and fresh, upon arriving.

Food:
The broth was extremely rich and flavorful! Genuinely tasted like it was prepared for a long time (10 hours) just like they advertise! It tasted very savory and it pairs well with the chicken and the other sides! The fish maw white fungus, chinese yam, pumpkin, and hand pulled noodles were all very fresh and high quality. I personally loved how chewy the noodles were after cooking it!

Our order was 2 servings it felt like a reasonable price. Definitely satisfied with the portion size given that we felt pretty full afterwards.

“Randomly found this place after food shopping one night and its officially our fav spot ! They open late til 1230am ! Jay and his staff members are very welcoming and friendly. Told us their special dishes and what to come back to try next time! We got their green peppercorn broth with snakehead fish recommended by Jay and boy it hit the spot! U can add on toppings and it comes with rice! We enjoyed it so much we are already planning our next late night visit and plan to take the fam here!“

“I took my fiance here this past weekend and we had a great time. We got to pick which vegetables, meats, tofu we liked, which were all fresh. And then we pick the broth and pay. The Mala Tang in the end was delicious. The broth was very flavorful and aromatic and the meats, vegetables and tofu tasted superb!“

“I ordered from this Chinese restaurant for the very first time to celebrate the grand opening of my nail salon, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience! We got Yang Chow Fried Rice, General Tso’s Chicken, Shrimp with Garlic Sauce, Chow Fun, and the Orange Chicken Combo.

Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared. The Yang Chow Fried Rice was light and tasty, the General Tso’s Chicken had the perfect balance of sweet and spicy with a crispy bite, and the Shrimp with Garlic Sauce was packed with flavor and came with fresh, juicy shrimp. The Chow Fun had a great texture and was very satisfying. But the star of the night was the Orange Chicken Combo—crispy, sweet, and absolutely delicious. “A small takeout Chinese eatery with a fairly standard menu selection bearing high average prices. Hong Kong Express serves americanized Chinese fare. Set in a small strip mall, there seems to be adequate parking. Upon entering, the first impression is clean. Featuring newer furnishings, decor and construction. As a child took my order and payment, this is clearly a family business.
So I've only had one dish at this place. I can say for freshness of ingredients, it's excellent. For amount of meat added, average. Unfortunately my dish was extremely bland. I had to add 7 packets of various sauce and that was still not enough. As I make this dish at home, the main sauce is soy. I wish I had grabbed more.
Speaking of sauce, no sauce, forks, chopsticks or napkins were added or offered. I'm glad I checked and added on my own.
This business succeeds in 2 major ways most other Chinese places don't (freshness and cleanliness). I hope I just caught an off dish. I'd return, but until I had a better dish, I wouldn't recommend.“
