“First time at River Twice.Met up with some favorite friends from my American Water days. Interesting approach to a menu. There was a $75 fixed tasting menu and then a set of optional extras. I went with the soft shell crab special and everyone else did the burger (since we specifically came on burger Monday). This is a cozy small restaurant in the heart of Philly. We were seated at the counter and were able to watch the food prep. Pretty cool. Service was excellent. Food was outstanding.Plenty of food to satisfy your hunger in the tasting menu alone, but I am glad we added the extras. The starter was raw Maine scallops in a crème sauce.Unbelievably good! This was followed by the NJ sushi rice with smoked steelhead.Well made, filling, and slightlyunremarkable. The mackerel, steamed cabbage and sweet potato made up for it with a perfect bite of these three ingredients! My soft shell crab was very unusual, in a good way, with an interesting creamy sauce and pickled onions. The burger was outstanding!! Lots of nuanced flavors going on. Finally, the winter citrus creamsicle was fun, creative, light, and the perfect ending to a super cool dining experience. Highly recommend River Twice for the adventurous eater!“

Gave us a very good first impression of this place. The service could be improved. The first 10 minutes we sat down, no one stopped by for water or introduction. The server was okay when he was presented in the area. However he would occasionally disappear for quite long time. We waited pretty long for our check and had to have someone else give us the check. After the long waiting, we saw a sprite we didn’t order appeared on the bill. He was able to take it off, but with the waiting we were a little bit out of patience. In summary, definitely will come back and recommend this place. “If you're a cheesesteak aficionado like me, then this spot is a must-visit! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality, setting the tone for an exceptional dining experience. First off, let's talk about the star of the show - the cheesesteak itself. It's evident that they take pride in using only the freshest ingredients, with the steak never seeing the inside of a freezer. The soft sesame seed wedge perfectly complements the juicy, flavorful meat. And speaking of meat, they don't skimp on quality here. Wagyu, rib eye, and NY strip - need I say more? Each bite is a savory symphony of premium beef. What truly sets this place apart is their commitment to cooking each cheesesteak to order. No dried-out meat sitting on the side of the grill here. Every sandwich is crafted with care, ensuring maximum freshness and flavor. Now, I'll admit, the price may be a tad higher than your average cheesesteak joint, but trust me, it's worth every penny. You're paying for top-notch ingredients and impeccable craftsmanship. And the customer service was on point! From the friendly greeting at the door to the attentive staff throughout our meal, they made us feel like valued guests. If you're in downtown Philly craving a cheesesteak experience that's a cut above the rest, look no further. This place delivers on quality, flavor, and hospitality. Can't wait to come back for more!!“

“We made a 7 man reservation at 9pm for I and a friend’s birthday. We enjoyed a chefs tasting menu since it was so late and, from that, I can say that every dish here is made exceptionally well. Every morsel of food was an amazing experience and a blend of complex flavors. The pasta and protein was hearty and cooked to perfection, and the desserts were phenomenal. The fusion of savory and sweet is utilized masterfully at Chez Hansi, in a way I’ve never never experienced before. I ofttimes had to look at the kitchen in shock, since I couldn’t believe that the meal was coming from one (incredibly skilled) chef in a home sized kitchen. This place is an experience, and anyone looking to have exceptional food should be excited to eat at Chez Hansi. Maybe even honored.“

Both times we had the tasting menu and both times we were intrigued with the many delicious courses. We also included the wine pairing which brought to light many different wines, that we knew nothing about, if not for the sommelier's amazing choices. Each plate was beautifully presented, and every glass of wine was described. The meal was served over several hours but we never felt that the meal lagged. It was a luxurious experience that made us both have a feeling of being pampered. I would suggest Jean George to anyone who enjoys French cuisine. The only issue is that you have to go all the way to the basement to use the restroom and you aren’t able to take the stairs to exit out the first floor. The happy hour food is great, but the drink offerings and discounts are thin. Something to be aware of: the “dirty double” martini is not actually a double, so that’s kind of misleading. Several of the dishes have been on the menu each time, but some have been tweaked with different ingredients, making them a little different (even though the original was already worth trying again). The "Brown Butter" dessert, the name of which sounded rather unappetizing on our first visit, turned out to be one of the highlights. Definitely try it. My issue is that, when compared with other similar multi course options in Philly at the same price range, I wasn't impressed with the food. Everything was prepared perfectly fine, but overall dishes were either on the blander side (such as the fish and desserts) or odd (such as the sweetbread). “Stopped in Fireside Family Resturant around 930 AM on a Monday. Place was about 15% full. The hostess seated me and asked if I wanted anything to drink, and by the time I got settled in my chair, my water and coffee (2.99) arrived. I ordered the Creamed chipped beef on rye toast and hash browns (11.99) from my very pleasant waitress. A very full plate of food arrived fairly quickly. I was a little disappointed with the food. First, the good things, the cream was the perfect taste and consistency over the diced up rye toast, so the toast doesn't get soggy, but there was a serious lack of chipped beef. I literally got 1/3 of the way through before I tasted some meat. Only had a small amount of the potatoes and they were OK. Staff was very attentive in keeping my coffee topped off. “I'm a huge fan of Sweet Amalia's, so when we were in the city looking for somewhere to eat I knew I had to check this place out! I starred off with an amazing drink and of course OYSTERS! Both of which were fantastic and a great start. I had the octopus lyonnaise for my meal and then the buttermilk panna cotta for dessert. We sat at the kitchen bar, which was really cool to watch the organized chaos of all of the hard work that goes into each plate. And our server was phenomenal. 5 stars! And already can't wait to go back!“

“Had a smaller menu than most, but options were excellent and delicious! Had Large and fluffy pancakes and the order of the almond crunch French toast -- both were very rich and a sweet breakfast. Favorite was the shakshuka -- savory, tasty, and flavorful breakfast with two thick hash browns.“

“First time eating here with group of colleagues. Was enjoyable! We came during a day where it was a fixed menu literal table spread. We had the choice to eat with fingers or with utensils and we all opted to eat with our fingers. There's something enjoyable about being encouraged to eat our food with our hands. Obviously a messy meal but worth it. A garlic fried rice was laid on the table topped with vegetables and Proteins were chicken, pork and fish.Parking: 6pm Weeknight parking in South Philly. Enough said. I feel like if you're willing to park, say, 10 minute walk away versus being super close you will have better luck with parking.“

“This was my first experience at Kick Axe. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there from the moment we walked in. I was surprised how good the food was, but I was even more surprised with the service from our bartender, Arielle. She made me the best tropical drink I've had in years, I think it's called a painkiller. The axe throwing was great. Everyone in my party had a great time. Thank you Kick Axe, and thank you Arielle!“

“Sabrina’s has become my go to spot for breakfast, brunch, and lunch in my area. The food and atmosphere are always outstanding, whether sitting at a table inside, outside, or at the bar. The service is also great - our waitress recently at the Art museum location, Lauren, was very attentive and friendly, helping us navigate the specials and enjoy our experience. Highly recommend!“

“I'll admit I was not going to give this place a try, litterally road pass it for years. One night a family member one wanted "hotcakes" and bacon and said this place was good. I was hesitant but decided to give it a try. Well let me tell you!!! I AM SOOOOO GLAD I DID!! THEIR FOOD IS SOOO DELICIOUS! I have been to many of the most expensive Steakhouses and upscale restaurants in PA and the surrounding areas/states. Their food is just as TASTY. Try their fresh beef Burgers! Cooked how you like. I did and I'm in love! I was impressed! I now have a new food spot. I would share about the other foods I ate while there too but if I tell you then it won't be enough for me when I go! Lol just know you will not be disappointed. Sorry no pics I gobbled EVERYTHING UP!“

“Just earlier today, I hosted a party for my husband’s 60th, and my daughter’s 25th at Gass & Main, and it couldn’t have been better! Chef Dane worked with me personally over the last two months to plan the brunch menu, which included Build-your-own Scrambled Egg Tacos, Pulled Pork Sliders, Fried Zucchini & Chicken Ziti, Gass & Main’s amazing Brussel Sprouts Chips, and “The Big Salad” … it was all delicious, served in buffet style, with an “up close & personal” view of Chef at work in the open kitchen! Our servers Jennifer and Kristen couldn’t be beat! They served our party of 40 guests inside, and outside the restaurant, on this perfect 75 degree, sunny day on Kings Court in Haddonfield. They were attentive, friendly, engaging, and even offered to go around personally to top off guests’ mimosas and espressos. Kristen even put on her Photographer hat and took pictures for us as well!I highly recommend hosting an event at Gass & Main like we did! The food was hot and delicious, made with love, full of savory flavors, and Chef was easy to work with in the planning, and was ready to accommodate in whatever way they could. Thank you to all involved in the kitchen and dining experience for our party at Gass & Main! Well done!“

“Everything was excellent! We ordered wings as a starter. They came out crispy with a delicious dry rub, just the way I like it. My breakfast sandwich with the brioche bun hit the spot. The smashed fingerling potatoes were cooked perfectly. Joe, our server, was attentive, patient, and super friendly. The restaurant has a cozy vibe with a fireplace. We had a wonderful time, and would definitely return.“

“Their biscuits are the best I’ve ever had in Jersey. They remind me of the ones we get down in OBX.Great food, my only complaint was that their loaded breakfast fries were really salty. If I could make one suggestion on that dish, keep a batch of unsalted fries to the side just for when people order that dish, the gravy they put on them has plenty of flavor already. As far as value goes, my wife and I are eaters and we both couldn’t finish our dishes. So the price isn’t bad considering you will get two meals out of it. Can’t wait to go back again.“
